Nice trip to Jimbocho! I always go over budget there too. I would have gotten excited about the PROVOKE photography generation book. Baudelaire and David Bryne. In the US we would say it was a "nice haul" (nice treasure hunting) in Japanese bookstore utopia. I had wondered why Jimbocho had so many curry shops. When I was a college student I remember eating ramen or plain rice or macaroni because all my budget went to books or LPs / CDs. Maybe it is the same for many Japanese college students. Enjoy book life.
@@L-Rimbaud thanks. I’m always so excited to explore especially used bookstores in Japan. Japanese are / were great readers. And I’ve lived almost two decades on an island with fewer readers or bookshops. My hometown (Minneapolis) was a great city for bookstores and libraries - perhaps because the weather and culture both encouraged reading. Enjoy book life… and curry.
