I feel like Jeremy is too humble. It’s like he feels he doesn’t deserve to be in his position. I think he needs to realize teams picked him up for a reason; because he’s a good point guard and a good teammate and a good person
Asians are generally humble. iq probably plays a part, overthink is common and you end up realizing there’s more you don’t know and that runs against confidence.
Jeremy, I was one of those guys who wrote a lot of bad stuff about you on a lot of internet forums. I honestly didn't think you would be reading those comments and how it could effect you. It really puts things into perspective for me that public figures are humans just like everyone else. I am sorry for all the hate you got. Nobody should go through what you went through. Thank you for shedding light on online bullying and racism. Just because we're behind a computer, our words spread like wildfire.
We’re all displacing our own pain when we do things like this, even if we don’t realise it at the time. It’s easy to direct it towards public figures as we forget they’re real people like us. Respect you for admitting it!
JOSHUA 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
It takes a lot of strength to stand up and talk about things that make you vulnerable. I can only express my utmost respect for you Jeremy and I know exactly how hard it is to feel like you can't live up to the expectations of others. Thank you for your words and openness, that is the sign of true greatness. I've enjoyed watching you play in the nba before, now I know all the more what you've taken on for your dream. What always helped me was to realize that it doesn't matter what others think and that I don't give a shit about it… ✌️
Thank you for using your platform to share your personal struggles and how you’ve been able to apply scripture and God’s truth. Super relatable in so many facets of life. I know that God is using you to share his love!
I needed this passage jeremy.. Anxiety has had an immense stronghold on me this past month, stemming hyperventilation, panic attacks, head, heart, and digestive issues but truly no weapon shall prosper‼️🙏🏽I’ve been in and out of the hospital this past month but nothing major to be found other than it to be anxiety, so just goes to show how the enemy is truly always working to infiltrate our mind, but the Lord indeed prevails🙏🏽I’ve been feeling much better recently as I’ve been actively seeking God more, and this passage is confirmation to me that God is truly in favor🤞🏽🤍Bless u bro‼️
Since you created Linsanity, I started watching the NBA. Until you came to Taiwan to play the Steelers and Kings, my whole family still paid attention to you! We all love you and like to watch you play. We all know that you must have high self-esteem. This is a source of pressure! You are 35 years old and have suffered serious injuries. Winning or losing is no longer important, because what we want to see is Jeremy Lin enjoying the process of playing. You know what? It is a pleasure to watch you play! This enough!
Thank you for this, Jeremy. Anxiety has had a stronghold on me for the longest time but it has been aggravated over the past few months due to a traumatic family event and career pressure. You speak with so much wisdom and courage, I could relate to your struggles (although in a different context) and the verses you shared resonated with me - they brought me to tears. I think God is speaking to me. Much love to you and God bless xx
Thank you for sharing this. I struggle on gameday because of pregame anxiety and don't play like the way I usually do in scrimmages. Had a rought performance yesterday, I believe God sent me this video for guidance. God bless you bro!
Jeremy praise God for the wonderful story and encouragement that has come because of ur anxiety. Hope that the next time you’re going through it and wish u never had this anxiety, you just remember what has come from it and how you encouraged random ppl like me through it!
Jeremy, thanks bro for being vulnerable with your struggle and sharing how God has helped you, all for the sake of encouraging someone out there. You’ve encouraged me.
I really appreciated your sharing today; it was truly helpful for dealing with anxiety. I hope Jeremy fully enjoys the games this season and always feels the support of your many fans. May the strength of that support never become a source of anxiety. Wishing you even more health and happiness on the court this season!
I have anxiety problems and it’s suddenly getting worse theses two days. I do really know the feeling of my body is shaking and hyperventilation, like my body is out of control. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this video comes to the top of my homepage. Your video really gives me courage to face anxiety again and again. Grateful for all that you’ve done.
Having spent 9 years in the NBA and over 14 years in his basketball career, longer than most basketball players, I always wondered what made this man so strong. I never expected Jeremy to have such a side of struggle and anxiety off the court. Thank you for always being sincere in sharing your struggles and selflessly telling us about your experiences. It helps me realize that I am not alone. I believe your anxiety stems from always striving for better performance, whether in the NBA, CBA, or even playing in Taiwan. It shows not only your respect for yourself but also for the audience. It’s not just your impressive skills, but your serious attitude toward the game that makes you my most admired athlete. Well, I hope you can truly enjoy the new season!
Jeremy we love u no matter how u perform. Ur fans celebrate with u when u make the shots and we will still be here supporting u even if u have bad days. We will be there with you no matter what. We just want to see u happy playing the game that you love so much
Fear and anxiety is definitely a difficult emotion to overcome. Thank you for sharing, this video was well produced and articulate. This reminds me of when Kevin Love and DeMar DeRozan revealed about their depression, mental health is just as important as physical health for professional athletes. It's a nice reminder that we're all human beings, fans can easily forget and expect athletes to be this invincible super human and they get paid so well that they have no problems with their life. I'm glad you're managing your pre-game anxieties, it must not be easy especially since your performance is entirely dependent on your career and job. You're awesome and keep up the good work!
Big Thks to you Jeremy, not as a professional player but as a great person sharing this experience to us who r now maybe currently experiencing through this but too young to deal w it.
Wow, this is something I never knew Jeremy Lin suffered from. This to show once again we’re not perfect people. Even pro ball players like Jeremy Lin suffers from anxiety like we do. I hope he continues to succeed and for God to breakthrough his anxiety day by day. Keep going man!
Thanks for sharing! It's good to know that you have these anxiety and still go on to do your best! Thanks for the suggestion of writing the fears down and then finding a scripture verse to counter it! Thank you for sharing your faith! Blessings! 😇
I can't describe more for my relating to this video. You really stated it so well🎉. It'll definitely help so many of us to see our performances in a healthy way. I really appreciate this lecture. All the best❤
Thank you Jeremy. This film is really fantastic and inspiring. We should trust more on God in our daylily life. Hope everyone will believe in JESUS and enjoy his unconditional love.
Such a great video and it came at just the right time. Thank you for the tip about talking to myself instead of just listening. That really stuck with me.
Thank you Jeremy Lin for this insperation video talking about anxiety becuase when was an athlete in highschool I dealt with the pressure to perform my best even though I was a under dog like you and you were one of my favriote basketball players and still is. I was looking for a video for a school project and this came up and it inspired me to write about becuase alot of people in sports and in general deal with alot of anxiety and they dont know what to do and right now mental health is a big issue in the world so I feel like these video inspire others to see the struggles that people go through and not just athletes.
I’m glad to watch this video right now, specially I have to host the meeting, do my research reports, working my job…etc, so many things in this week and few more months in the future. It’s really help for me, hope I can do this’ll, thank you, Jeremy!
I deal with anxiety before show too, I know how it feels Anybody think its no big deal and we may get used to it But when I see the crowd my heart starts pounding! But I know when I get on it I will or I should enjoy the stage😳 So usually I'll push myself and ignore the problem Thankyou for sharing the story, I will keep learning how to deal with my anxiety. Love from Taiwan for 12 years see u in the new taipei home court this weekend
Jeremy, I am not sure if you will see this. I used to work for MLSE (Raptors) and I walked by you and Siakam once. Too bad I didn't have enough courage to speak to you. As a fan since Linsanity I saw all your ups and downs and you were struggling and doesn't seems to be having fun in Toronto. I feel like you can feel that everyone wants the 2nd Linsanity everywhere you go myself included, to the point not for my enjoyment but to be able to tell everyone it wasn't a fluke. If we feel that way imagine what you feel. I keep wanting to tell you although we all look up to you and hope you will be our stereotype breaker, it breaks our heart seeing you getting crushed by the pressure. I knew you must have spoken to lots of people but I was hoping may be the voice of a fan telling you can relax and don't bare the "obligation" would help. And then I saw you cried in Taiwan after that championship summer. I couldn't help to feel disappointed like our hero fell, but then I was mad I couldn't even find the courage to offer you some words that might help. I am so happy seeing you open up more in recent years and teaching the new generation of Asian baller about your journey. I really hope one of them becomes an all stars in the nba and tell the world you are their mentor. You deserve a place in basketball history
I saw that game against the Blazers. That was not an unforced turnover on Lin. It was a forced turnover. Further, Lin didn't even get stripped from the front on good D vs Lin's ball handling. Lin got stripped from *behind.* No real basketball fan is going to look at a strip from behind and even comment on that. But Clutch made it a point to put out a video on the whole thing and blow it out of proportion and Clutch Fans went off. And the strip happens in front of the Rockets bench out near the three point line- if you play ball (this IS the NBA.....) its also on your teammates on the sidelines to say someone is coming up behind you. And then the amazing thing is after the play, you can see Lin realizes the issue and then goes all the way back to the basket and almost grabs the rebound (over the other Blazers and Dwight !) after the next shot goes up. Then there is a scramble for the ball again and it goes back to the Blazers and Williams takes the three and gets the bucket. But who is the defender coming from way under the basket all the way out to contest the three ? That was JLin. Where were the other Rockets crashing the boards or defending the three ? Any real basketball coach is going to be seeing him doing these intangibles, and know that is the guy you want on the team, because things will eventually go your way. I guess my point is: really have to ignore the basketball illiterati on Clutch Fans, who were also racists who needed the Asian guy to perform at a 10x standard compared to everyone else.
Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV) “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
If anyone here is struggling with anxiety please read the book “Feeling Good” by David D Burns. That book is a life changer if you’re dealing with depression or anxiety.
Any place to see ur new Taipei kings highlights? Always with u Lin..wish u saw urself once how we Asians have seen u for more than a decade.. Wish u were on the warriors still after that latest g league stint ..that was a championship team.. U are a champion Lin n will always be .. don't let those racist coaches n league ditter u from what u actually achieved.
The one with great power comes to great responsibility. Jeremy is a strong person, so he has to face these pressure. Hope Jeremy can deal with the pressure and feel happy.
Maybe you can play basketball for a few more years? Use your experience to help your brothers and teammates grow. Of course... everything still depends on your health! Wishing you a great season and a healthy career! 也許你還能再打幾年籃球?使用經驗幫助你的弟弟和隊友成長。當然…一切還是要看你的健康狀況!願你度過一個美好的賽季和健康的職業生涯!
Jeremy, my brother in Christ, I think you worry too much about what people think of you. What you should worry about is what God thinks of you. If you will learn from Michael Chang (the tennis player), and commit your work and your cause to the glory of God, instead of yourself, you should feel less pressure, and more joy at the same time in your work and life. When Jesus asked us to forgive 77 times a day, I think He meant for us to forgive unconditionally, in order for Jesus too to forgive us. Make no exceptions about who you should forgive. Forgive all, including those who really hurt you and even betrayed you, daily. Of course, you should ask God to forgive your own errors and sins daily too (this you must know already). This will help you stay focused on living your own life, in the way of Christ (the Way of the living), not what others want or demand of you. (Who knows what their intention really is...) And remember, to those who are given much, much is expected. So, you can, if you are willing and able, use your God-given fame to call for peace in the war-torn Ukraine, Russia, Israel, Lebanon, and Iran, and remind them to forgive one another unconditionally in the Holy Name of Jesus the Christ, who is worthy of His Name (the Savior/God is with us). When you commit your work to God, you just might find your teammates more willing, as well. When you don't worry about being on the winning or the losing team, but instead play on the right side, rather than the wrong side, over time you will attract like-minded teammates who will happily share the responsibilities with you (happily carry their own, yours, and each other's crosses together). When you have true (everlasting) champions on your team, built around forevermore, what do you care if people call you losers (or worse names)? Don't let the judgment of men bother you, when you do right. Let God be the judge. Check out Luke 18:1-14. Do not seek to exalt yourself. (It's great you always did your best, and always figured out what your teammates did best, and tried to help them play out and brought out their best). This is the greatest fun I had when I played basketball in my younger days :) Try and see if Jesus is true, and never lied. May God's glory shine brightly through you and your willing neighbors, in you work and your life. May you all live true, and rejoice!
I visit your entire Linsanity run once every month Brother Sir, to remind me motivate me inspire me that my limitations in my abilities, skills and knowledge are self imposed and that only I can obliterate and push past through them at my own pace. Thank you for being you. Professionally and Family I'm sure a lot of us would agree WE LOVE YOU POINT GUARD. keep going, this world became better because of YOU. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-m3A6wJBZ7hE.html 💛🏀
