I came here right after watching episode 21 of the demon hunter series. I tried not to cry, but when the little fox jumped to its companion, tears fell from my eyes.

Assulaze 阿苏拉则 was a mighty hero of the YI（彝） Nationality during the Southern Song dynasty. He had been devoted to invention of the YI characters and edition of the YI scriptures, which no one could understand since his death. Therefore, he never felt at ease in his afterlife and it turned out that his soul became a bird (洛龙布曲鸟Luo Long Bu Qu Niao) shaped like a Chinese phoenix or a crow and flew to his son, La Dzegtru who had been dumb from birth. La Dzegtru saw the bird flying beside him and went after it to the forest. Then it sang high as it was producing its thread of blood (or spit) on broad leaves to form beautiful characters. La Dzegtru was so fond of them, picking leaves and writing on them. Ever after, He went to the woods with the bird and learned, sometimes until late night. His mother was worried a lot because when he went to herd pigs, he didn't often come home earlier or for days and nights. However he had no idea how to tell her. So, she attached a ball of woolen thread to him secretly and followed the thread to him when he wasn't back to home after herding pigs. A colorful bird was seen on a tree spitting lines of blood, which words were composed of, while her son was so wrapped up in drawing on leaves. She thought him playful and then called out, "Son, why are you playing here instead of getting home!". Nevertheless, the bird was frightened by her voice and winged away, and at that moment La Dzegchu started to speak by shock, "Mom, why did you come here now? How good would it be if you had gone here a little later so that I could have learned father's remaining three scriptures!" From then on, he could be able to talk and teach Yi people those characters that his father had left. Yet, lack of the three unlearned scriptures caused slight insufficiency in using Yi language.
