大概喺2013年開始停用Penny。according to government’s guideline, 用cash就用以下方法:1仙或2仙就round down to 0,6仙或7仙就round down to 5仙,3仙或4仙就round up to 5仙,8仙或9仙就round up to 10仙。
I agree with most of ur points. I might add pedestrians here are kings n queens of the road. They don't respect the fact that drivers share the road use too. Trying to make that left turn...the person is crawling talking on the phone . I always walk fast to clear the intersection for fellow drivers n at times I let them go first if the situation calls for this courtesy . Eating out is getting very expensive, gratuity n tax added another 25% to ur tab. One time the waiter told me I have to give more, I am a good tipper if I'm satisfied with food n service, no one has to tell me how much I should tip. They have to earn it. Don't see why we have to compensate underpaid waiting staff. My friend told me restaurant workers are not that underpaid after all with tips n maybe some tax break lol. It's nice of u to share ur thoughts.
If you live in Hwy 7 area there are lots of family doctor speaks Chinese. If you live downtown probably will have to go yo China town. The case that you mentioned those family doctors are terrible. Find a good one and put yourself on their waiting list. Often times patients will move and they will have openings to take you in as full time patients.
Sorry to say, Canada is not my cup of tea. Why? No night life, no late night shopping and late supper. Hate winter, doctor not easily accessible. Daylight robbery, insecurity and etc. Where I live, is the opposite of what you are facing over there. No winter, we have late night life and late night shopping. Supper easily available with lots of choices. Cheap and affordable. Doctors and hospitals easily accessible 24 hours a day including weekends and public holiday. Petrol is darn cheap. Houses are big, spacious and affordable. The only drawback is, too many cars on the road. Almost everyone owns a car. My home 2 persons with 3 cars. So can you imagine why there are heavy traffic jams. 😂 This is KL, Malaysia 😂 with lots of huge, exciting mega shopping Malls.
Let's say the cultural gap is there. Over the years I'm convinced I'm never one of them. U try to blend in...most Canadians are friendly n polite but deep down they never see u as one of their own. Just being kind to an "outsider ". Workplace discrimination is always here to stay. Moving up that corporate ladder is difficult for non white ppl. Tax is high, home ownership/ rental getting out of hand. If ur doing fine overall in HK, u have to really think twice to relocate. And no Filipino maid 😭
