thank you Cindy Ying zhou . i am pleased we share the same taste i know and seen it on u tube about the couple raising pigs her name is Dani and her husband is bald she makes lovely corn cake(crushed it fine) with peanuts and brown sugar using layers and steam the whole lot in a wok my God they come out massive about 30 cm thick as they are so many layers and very yellow .if you keep watrching the u tube you will come across it she calls it rice cake but she uses ground corn i am perplexed.Dani makes it with her niece or daughter in law Chinese Mauritian(Hakka) from Portsmouth UK
i love the way you make this old fashioned rice cake it is my favourite .do you use glutinous rice .do you soak or boil the red beans also can you make it with corn instead of rice .i have also seen it making with peanuts too .what a great rice cake love it Portsmouth UK
I think it is the glutinous rice. The red bean is boiled. I think we can’t use corn because corn isn’t glutinous. But I think we may add some corn, peanuts or other nuts to it as the dates and red beans. Good luck! I am so glad that you liked Chinese food. A Chinese living in Manchester UK
