I am a Brazilian who's Learning Japanese by listening to a Swedish/Canadian talking in Japanese lol. It's incredible the amount of understanding that I get from his videos. My listening skills are getting better and better over time.
Hi man I'm brazilian too I really want to learn Japanese but i don't know how do start haha And i know that japanese is a very hard language, so can you help me please? Tell me, where do i start?
@@pedrobarrosoficial1736 i suggest you start learning how to pronounce hiragana and then katakana and then kanjis. Foi assim que eu comecei mas eu desisti dps pq, infelizmente, n tenho mt tempo. Boa sorte aí pra vc
@@Carlos-rw3oj I don't understand how people can't hear the difference between Japanese and Chinese, they don't sound very similar to me, they aren't even related.
The languages he speaks aside from English are: French, Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), Japanese, Korean, Russian, Swedish, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Ukrainian, Czech, Slovak, Romanian, Polish, Greek, Turkish, Arabic and Persian.
No he doesn't know Indonesian and he probably won't get to Southeast Asian languages in quite a while. It's a shame because they tend to be ignored by lots of people, and Indonesian is quite easy, especially for someone like me who speaks a language that's kind of related to it and is probably heard more
@@BenitoiteBaTiSi Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if some of those were so rusty that he can't make a short video for the viewers who are native speakers, and as we have noticed, there hasn't been one in some of these languages in a long time. Also by going through long periods of time without trying other languages like Southeast Asian ones, he's just missing opportunities especially when it's mostly for enjoyment
I’m tryna learn Japanese I now know 3 languages wich is Chinese French and English idk why I’m saying this but I love anime and I wanna watch anime with no subtitles and I wanna go to Japan so B AD LY
Mr Kauffman, I don't want to be a nuisance, nor to demand anything, but please be mindful that when you make videos in other languages (specifically the more unaccessible ones like Japanese or Chinese) without provinding subtitles you end up alienating and frustrating the biggest part of your audience.
my Japanese videos are a separate series in a way, and very often cover the same ground as I am covered in an English video. It is a lot of work to create translated subtitles. Most of my videos are in English so people who don't understand the foreign language videos can just stick with the English ones. I am looking at ways to get translators subtitles done, however, maybe some of my viewers would volunteer.
There should be more videos in other languages. There are countless Japanese videos that speakers are getting advice that lots of other viewers are missing out on like some Europeans. Saying "well most Europeans speak good English anyway" kind of defeats the purpose of investing lots of time into those languages if they're so rusty that he can't even make a short video in them. There are probably some Southeast Asian viewers of the channel but are missing out on exclusive advice because Steve doesn't know any SEA language and will continue missing opportunities with these until he finally starts at least one years down the line from now or somehow becomes very motivated to start one sooner
What even are these comments? The man just wants to make videos in Japanese. There's nothing wrong with that. I wish more people still made videos how they want to instead of trying to appeal to broad audiences or advertisers.
Thanks to this video I realized that even through years without studying japanese, I still manage to retain alot of words to be able to understand what he said, and it made me happy. So I really enjoyed watching with no subtitles. To be honest, doing a video without subtitles in another language isnt bad at all. And no one should be frustrated about it.. that sounds childish. If it had subtitles I can garantee that I wouldnt have pushed my brain into trying to understand word by word what he was saying. I would have just read without caring. So to people who are actually interested in japanese language its a good thing.
@@Thelinguist BTW dont underestimate the power of anime has on some people, it is amazing! haha my friend who is up until this day crazy for it, studied japanese, finished university, and now its in japan. Ive never seen such determination, all because of love for anime. Shes only 24 , and shes been there for two years now teaching english :) If anime can open such doors at the start of anyones youth, Its alright. But I guess shes also very smart..haha
