Peter Sakurai様 Thanks a lot.
Hi Keiji, I immigrated to the U.S. when I was 7 years old. SF has changed a lot since 20 years ago. Las Vegas has, too. I go to Japan on business from time to time. By the way, do you know the name of this singer? I believe she is Otsuki Miyako. Take care.
Peter Sakurai Hi Peter-san Thanks for your reply. I really don't know the name of this singer who is excellet and your suggestion she will be Otsuki Miyako was very persuasive for me. Your knowledge about Japanese Enka looks like very deep and please enjoy Enka in the USA. When I worked in SF I enjoyed Misora Hibari-san's song in the car and especially it was great to hear her 'KAWA NO NAGARE NO YOONI' on Bay Bridge from Oakland to SF seeing the night view of SF down-town on the right-hand. Best regards Kenny Kita
Peter Sakurai Hi Peter-san,How are you. I would like to tell you further information which I got recently. Now I am confident that this singer is Taiwanese. I contacted other you tube up-loader from Taiwan (I think Su Su-san will be also Taiwanese) who said that Japanese ENKA is very popular in Taiwan and many good Taiwanese professional singers have covered old Japanese ENKA in Taiwan. They can easily buy CD of Japanese ENKA coered by Taiwanese. Those Taiwanese singers remain the heart of old Japanese ENKA more strongly than current Japanese ENKA singers which attracts us. Thanks
Peter Sakurai Thanks for you latest and valuable info which I appreciated. すごい情報で驚きました。サラリーマン時代の習性でいろいろ推測していましたが、もうこれで終わりにします。もちろん小生も大月さんの ファンであり、まったく異存はございません。Best regards
Keiji Kita Thank you for your response. Let's continue to cheer up Miyako Otsuki. I understand you write very good English. Were you working for a foreign company or did you study in the U.S.? Regards,
Peter Sakurai Dear Sakurai san I worked for Japanese trading company for 40 years ( I am 65 years old now so already retired) and lived in SF during 1987-1993 with my family. My business was food and I exported many US agricultural items (like frozen french fried potatoes, vegetables, almond, walnuts, peanuts, CA wines etc.) to Japan. My family still like USA very much and we think it's great that you are living in Las Vegas and come to Japan often for business. Yes, I will continue to cheer up Miyako san who is now one the best Enka singers in Japan.
Keiji Kita Dear Keiji, Thank you for your response. I hope I will be able to see you in Japan in future and go to Karaoke together to sing Japanese Enka. I need practice, though.
Peter Sakurai Hi peter san ! I also want to see you sometime in the future in the USA or Japan. Personally I want to visit SF in the near future where is one of the most beautiful cities in the world for me ( I think you have been to there many times so maybe you will have no objection). Would you continue to enjoy Japanese Enka and I wish you a good luck.
