雪莲三姐妹 in this film look considerably matured than before, but their voices still remain so beautiful. Easily the best chorus of this wonderful song 青藏高原 that has been performed in the world. For the best solo I will recommend 索朗旺姆 in her earlier years - her performances in recent years are still very excellent but probably not as good as before.
This song is so beautiful yet so simple. It connects the past and the present in a setting of a beautiful wide-open-space mountain range while the unforgettable sentimental love lingering in the air. It makes one wonders, was the song writer questioning the beautiful name “Ya La Suo” was changed to Qinghai-Tibet Plateau because someone had a “solemn attitude” problem as the song says. Or was he questioning the rigid society? I would rather say I love Ya La Suo than I love Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
