The soprano, Tan is singing in the traditional Tibetan long-tune. The song sings about the supreme natural beauty of the Tibet Highland, the home to every Tibetan. "I see the mountains over the mountains, that's the Tibetan Highland..." (extracted and translated from the lyrics' chorus)"

Did you notice that the costume on her head keeps on falling starting the middle of the performance, and she had to hold it with her right hand till she finished :)
She is Chinese mainland not Tibetan ethnicity but had one vocal teacher and friends whom were so she part honors with her performance. This song was written by/sung in Chinese with some Tibetan singing inflection

@@wayneshum Here is one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O5tlce4rvm8.html. Many think she's the best, though she probably is not the original singer, either.
I don't know what she was saying , I'm from a completely different culture ; but that was an Elite performance at the highest degree . it was absolutely beautiful and captivating .
It’s a Chinese written song/singer for a Chinese show and song about the Tibetan Plateau and there’s some Tibetan style inflection her friend helped her with
Wow after hear this singer...now i know how really hard to sing this song and i really AMAZE that Shila Amzah can sung this song really well (just my opinion) ...i dont know shila's pronunciation good or bad but i enjoy listening her singing...
I'm impressed by not only her voice and the song, but her ability to cover up any blunders! She subtly tried to stop her head dress from falling. At 3:09 she tried to forcefully nod her head so that the head dress might fall back into place, but it failed. But she then used her right to press against her head to stop it from sliding down, which looked as if she was focusing on the notes in her head. Now that's another kind of skill that a performer should possess!!
I think maybe you are wrong about her action .It is a action of expressing .Because I saw some tibetan doing the same action (fingers on the head)when they are singing, It is just like some gesture.
Thanks. So lovely!! Adding my collection for this timeless classic song, *Qinghai-Tibet Plateau 青藏高原 (Qīngzàng Gāoyuán)* Those known famous singers singing this song are: Li Na 李娜 ; Alan Dawa Dolma 阿兰·达瓦卓玛 ; Tan Jing 谭晶 ; Basang 巴桑 ; Yun Duo 云朵 ; Soinam Wangmo 索朗旺姆 ; Han Hong 韩红 ; Three Snow Lotus Sisters 雪莲三姐妹 ; Tsewang Dorjie 泽旺多吉 ; Yangjin Lhamu Three Sisters 央金玛三姐妹 ; and now Tan Weiwei 谭维维 (Sitar Tan) ... I'm still adding... :-)
Anybody know where to find her version from the movie Once Upon A Time In Tibet? I find it much more beautiful and less Hollywood glitzy than this but no matter how/where I search I had no luck. Many thanks.
Hi Kelana . You should check out the rendition by Tsering Yangzom 次仁央宗 . Specifically this youtube link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jOt-Rly_vUw.html This Bilingual version has so much authenticity and it blew me away every time.
She is Chinese not Tibetan but had one vocal teacher and friends whom were so she part honors with her performance. And Tibet is better/well off integrated and supported by China’s giant economy

Великолепное исполнение .Хотя не ясно о чем она поет ,но это стало не важно , ее завораживающи голос притягивает, охота слушать и слушать . Наверное она поет что то неописуемое , о красоте природы .
