What a wonderful collection of movie memorabilia that is like a trip back in time in HK. Thank you for this amazing journey so beautifully preserved. This was before TV and videotapes were introduced. Cinemas were the chief means of entertainment. Really enjoyable and well captured.
The title shows all theatres in Hong Kong Island only. But it hasn't showed all theatres in Eastern parts of Shau Kei Wan & Chai Wan of Hong Kong. There were Cheong Lok Theatre, Shau Kei Wan Theatre, Golden Star Theatre, Tai ON ( Kam Ming) Theatre & Wing Wah Theatre in Shau Kei Wan and Wing Lee Theatre & Chai Wan Theatre in Chai Wan.
The New York Cinema had the worst design. If you were seated at the back of the cinema, the top third of the screen would be obstructed by the balcony.
I think you are missing about 10 of them: Fok Shing in Kennedy Town, Kwok Bun and Kwok Do in North Point, 新都 and 總統 in Causeway Bay, 京都 and 南洋 in Wanchai, 金星 in Shau Kei Wan...
Of course there were probably many other cinemas not included but what is shown is quite remarkable to say the least and very hard to find today. Patience will be rewarded by more installments I'm sure.
