At first I was wondering why KARA was performing so many of their hits, then I remember this is there last performance as 5.... Ah so sad to think about it but this was cool ^0^ KARA ~~
Watching this is bitter sweet. KARA was my favourite group during their Mister and Lupin days. SNSD eventually became my no.1 after I was introduced to their music, but KARA was my top for a year before that. Seeing this video with most of their hits brought back good memories and knowing it's probably was their last together with the 5 of them really made me feel depressed at the same time. I was such a fan, I watched every variety show they were on. Ironically, when I watched the variety show "Come to Play" with KARA & SNSD special together is when I started to discover SNSD more and slowly switch my top group. Despite that, I've always been happy knowing that SNSD and KARA members are actually close friends with each other in real life. Nicole will always be my favourite from KARA, but they were all amazing to me. Miss you alot KARA, good luck to you girls in whatever you choose to do in the future! Thanks for the good memories!
What a coincidence, I used to like KARA as well before I got to know SNSD better, then my favs switched as well.^^ I've listened to the songs that were performed so many times, it was rather bitter for me to watch this. I'll forever love Nicole and Jessica, such precious girls! I'm so glad I got to know them :') The Camilia fandom also is an extremely nice one^^ Ironically, KARA's last concert before the 2 girls leaving was in Kobe, Japan - a city I'm going to live in for 5 months starting from April. I just wish I was there to say hello& good-bye...
KARA is the biggest what if story in Kpop that the majority of these new gen kpop "stans" should learn about. No hate to Taeyeon, Sunghee was like the pretty version of Tae without the need of PS and had the same level of vocals, plus had the better variety personality and general public appeal from the very little we saw of her during her time with KARA. It's like the kpop gods did their best to set up roadblocks and torture these poor girls who've had their careers and even life cut short from even greater greatness, and well deserved happier lives. Starting with Sunghee leaving, 2011 members vs agency, DSP's mismanagement of their clear sole breadwinner and drop from Big3 status, terrible decision making and projection after PD's heart attack, Nicole(most popular in the West) and Jiyoung(most popular in Japan) leaving, Baby KARA(Sojin's suicide), awkward addition of Youngji, and ultimately Hara taking her own life, this beaten and battered group still managed to be right behind SNSD as NGG during the 2nd gen while owning Japan and winning popularity awards overseas. Imagine if SungHee wasn't forced out by her control freak of parents, and KARA still added Jiyoung and Hara, SweeTune continuing creating bops for em, and had SNSD's longevity. Maybe then gen 2.5 (12'-15') wouldn't be remembered as the dullest and overall shittiest era for GGs (thank freaking god for TWICE barging in 2016 single handedly saving GGs from being boring as fk, over saturated sexualization /HelloVenus,AoA,EXID,4Minute,etc../, and being mediocre at best, making GGs being capable of competing with the boys again).
@@carlocacho5733 You're absolutely right on everything. KARA was formed with very high hopes because the company wanted a group that is as popular and successful as Fin.K.L. With that came a lot of pressure for the girls to be tip-top and the company tried and pushed very hard for their success, immediately switching their image when "Break It" didn't do well. As you've mentioned, the girls are all very talented in their own right and their live performances are always very good but the pressures the company was placing on the girls were too great and Sunghee was the first to leave (I don't really blame her parents for it). There are many horror stories from the members themselves of how they were often overworked. Seungyeon recounted that they were told not to drink water when promoting "Mister" and she was told that she needed to be skinnier even though she is of healthy weight. All the pushing by the company truly made them really successful and popular, becoming the first K-pop girl group to dominate Japan, but it also made the girls really unhappy and it led to them seeking termination of their contracts. The contract dispute was settled eventually but it didn't stop Nicole and Jiyoung from leaving the group. From then on things got really awkward. DSP is still trying to milk everything out of KARA so they made that talent show to select a new member which I think was a total disaster. Youngji by herself is alright but she just didn't fit in and fans came up with the term OT5 because they didn't like the new lineup. Eventually, things just didn't work out within a year or so and Gyuri, Seongyeon and Hara all decided not to renew. Personally, I blame all of the misfortunes on DSP, even Hara's death. Yes, the company did push the girls at every opportunity they have and they achieved success because of that but things certainly could be better managed. If KARA were managed like SNSD, they would have the same longevity and the members would be together more often which could have prevented Hara's suicide. The last thing Hara needed was to be alone all the time. I say serve DSP right for being bought over by RBW just this year. Now the group is making a comeback this November! I think various reasons like being not as successful going solo and Hara's death played a part in their decision to reunite, but I think the biggest factor in them making a comeback is the fact that the nightmare that is DSP is finally gone. Even though Hara is no longer around, I'm actually very excited for this comeback. For me, KARA should always be 5 members and I think Youngji is actually needed now after that tragedy to freshen things up. Hopefully, the girls will be better managed this time round. It has been a topsy-turvy journey for KARA and now the journey continues...
Han Seung yeon, to me she spent more effort way back then when they starting for thier career... she never stop promoting kara... and also how profesional she is.. remember when she fell down while they are singing the lupin... she deserved a standing ovation...thumbs up han... but the bottomline is kara are the combination of 5 harmony that put all together to bring some good music to the million of fans... for that i salute KARA... thumbs up
KARA is the 2nd grp I got to know from kpop and I realliy like them. The songs are cool the girls are very talented and it's good to listen and watch them. Just keep it on girls!
I'm really gonna miss Nicole, seing her perfomed Mister is was really nostalgic it was the first song I heard from them and I had spotted nicole at first. well best of luck for her and for kara
I almost cried when I watched this because they are performing a short part of all their hit songs and the truth that they may not be a group of 5 anymore... :'( it is as though this is their last stage....
Haven't seen this in 2 years, now watching this brings back the fondest memories but at the same time it hurts so much 😔 Nothing can replace those days waiting for their new songs and music videos, watching them perform live, seeing them in Korean and Japanese music and variety shows. 2008-2013 Kara *sigh* Miss them so much
Such a bittersweet feeling watching this performance. KARA5 will forever be in my heart and will forever be my ultimate bias. Nicole Fighting!!! KARA fighting!!!
Really hard to swallow the fact that this will be their last performance as KARA5. I honestly don't believe this is the last one. I have a strong feeling they'll perform together again. Forever KARA jjang!
I think Kara is like a candy amidst all of the commotion in Kpop. Other groups tried so much new concept of sexy, mystery and all and suddenly there's Kara who soothes it. I hope DSP's management will comply with the members need and Nicole will agree to comeback with Kara as 5.
best of luck Kara, and Nicole as well. I'm a Sone but feel sad knowing Nicole will leave the group. Nicole is my fav member after Hara nd 1 thing that I like Kara is Soshi n Kara (n WG) grew up together in this industry, I really love their friendship. I hope they will keep their friendship wherever n whenever they are. This stage must be such an emotional stage for them and wondering what happened on the backstage :'(
Watching this after hearing kara disbanded . I'm so sad as their my favorite group . I guess on a bright side we will still be able to see them just not together. Well I guess one good thing came out its that we'll be able to see Gyuri, Hara, and Seungyeon act I loved all the dramas they've done and we'll be able to see more in the future . The have been through so much fighting ot4 ot5.
In my opinion, I think this is the saddest performance ever since DSP said we only get to see KARA as a 5 members group for last time. That's why they performed all songs as a special stage. Please, I hope no one leave KARA.
I teared up already during Wanna. KARA is like the first kpop group I know. And the songs brought up so much memories. I hope this won't be the last time I'm seeing KARA promoting as 5. Nicole and Jiyoung, kajima!
To think one of my favorite groups is breaking apart after going such a long way and in my honest opinion they were ready for the big international stage... As in the second K-Pop group to have there own solo concert in Madison Square Garden. Thanks DSP for making Kara work so hard to start all over again... I'll still love Kara, but I'll always remember this Kara as the best Kara days. This mountain there about to climb is going to be very steep without Jiyoung and Nicole and it may seem nearly impossible to reach the top with the amount of time left that they have, but Kamilias will help pull them back up. My heart will always belong to Seungyeon, Gyuri, Nicole, Jiyoung, and Hara! Love you girls for life!
It breaks my heart to see kpop groups before 2010 break apart slowly... first the wonder girls and now kara..... wonder girls, kara and snsd will forever be the best girl groups ever.
WonSoKa forever the top 3 girl groups in Korea. They accomplished more than any of the current girl groups could even imagine. They started the Halley Wave. 2007-2009 were really the best years of K-Pop IMO
Kara yeah i agree with you. I mean i love the new girl groups as well but these 3 can never replaced no matter what. kpop will never be the same it used to be like which is really sad...
Kara was one of the first groups I really enjoyed after getting introduced to Kpop from SES. It was 2NE1 and then Kara who a friend told me they really liked. Gyuri and Nicole my favorites, will miss them.
flawlessangel(facepalm) Did you not read? Nothing is officially confirmed! Even in the article, the first thing it says is "possible departure". AKP just put that title to pull in views. Ppl these days don't read and jump to conclusions or are just naive.
I love KARA. Whether they separate or not. I still remember their great songs which touched me,such as"Lupin,Hanabi,Pandora,Love Is,Winter Magic"I will still support KARA! ^_^ Fan from Taiwan
Man, I really miss my ultimate bias group as one performing. I enjoyed their concerts and live so much and now.... :(( Back then they were know as an all visual group and made history in their part. Sad nobody ever brings them up anymore...
When Goo Hara was on Invincible youth she was known for dancing mister while Nicole was on Heroes she was also known for dancing mister best combi Hara and Nicole :3
I really like Kara but what was going through the stylist's mind when she put Goo Hara in that pink dress. The poor girl had such a difficult time keeping herself covered during the mister dance. Anyway awesome job though.
Yip Jacky Thank you :) She looks amazing here. I always thought she was the cute type from the few TV show segments where I have seen her. This was a great group. Sad to see that they have broken up.
As soon as I heard "Pretty girl", I had a sinking feeling. My heart was literally breaking & it was hard to not tear up and enjoy the performance. It was nice to see all their hits but it was a sad reminder if not confirmation of what might happen :( I hope & pray that KARA can stay as is with Gyuri, Seungyeon, Nicole, Hara and Jiyoung. Please DSP find a way to sign them all and make it work! KARA5FOREVER
Aww they break my heart by doing all their hits from when they were five T___T Gonna miss Nicole (and Jiyoung if she's leaving as well) so much!! KARA hwaiting!!!
Aw, love that this appears to be a tribute to KARA, but sad because it feels like this is an ending tribute to KARA as a band. :( I still can't believe the fact that this might be the last time I will see them as a whole, my fave and ultimate group is breaking apart
I love KARA!! Kamilias we have to keep supporting them even if they are just going to be 3 members!! It won't be the same but if we really love them then we keep supporting them!
So many memories we had with KARA 5! Thank you for all your great music and introducing me to Kpop and making my day~! KARA, thank you for all the memories! You'll be remembered! Kamilia
My girls still perfect as always T_T noooo!! This is not gonna be their last stage...tell me this is not true... Forever Kara5 = Park gyuri, Han seungyeon, Jung nicole, Goo hara, Kang jiyoung!
It's hard to imagine that DSP Media would allow a highly successful group like KARA to simply disband. It's unfortunate that some members want to leave, but that doesn't mean that the brand and sound have to disappear. Not only would that be a bad move from a fan's viewpoint, it would also be a very bad business decision.
