I believe that the theme of the entire episode is loyalty or in any case that feeling of trust you feel towards your partner, it is no coincidence that the episode begins with the funny flashback of when Hyun-woo takes Hae-in to visit his home village to introduce her to his family and while doing so, boasts of his family's "wealth" and influences, still believing that Hae-in is from a poor or even indebted family; that scene, apart from making us laugh out loud, seemed to want to make a point and remind us of an ancient promise that Hyun-woo made to Hae-in, namely to always stay on her side. It's an important point, because it's clear that something has happened to them over the years that has polarized them so much that one is extremely unhappy and the other is totally cold and detached towards him, so much so that when Hyun-woo started giving her attention, Hae-in was immediately suspicious, only to then convince herself (mistakenly) that he wants her to save herself. The next scene in which Hyun-woo saves Hae-in from the boar cements in her the idea that he is on her side so much that in all the following scenes we see how more than one feeling for Hyun-in has rekindled in Hae-in. woo of a romantic, if not downright erotic kind (like the scene where Hyun-woo comes out of the shower shirtless). The funny thing is that she acts like they haven't been married before and she hasn't seen him like that before, but oh well, that's funny too. Aside from that and although Hae-in believes that her illness or terminal condition is changing her personality, in truth, what is happening is that we finally see what Hae-in was hiding inside her heart with a facade of coldness and severity, that is, a big and generous heart, which cares about others and which is what Hyun-woo probably saw in her and is one of the reasons why he fell in love; Furthermore, here too we saw a series of hilarious scenes, such as when he held the umbrella for the kitten in the rain, or he was moved by the employee with her sick mother or even when he asked his assistant if it was normal for her heart to beat fast for her husband after years of marriage, with great perplexity printed on the assistant's face. In short, as expected, despite an initial tragicomic situation and sidereal distance between the two spouses, her illness is reawakening dormant feelings in both of them which are slowly bringing them closer together. Furthermore, to remain in the tragicomic situation, see Hyun-woo trying in every way to avoid going to sleep in the same bed as Hae-in because he is afraid of her, trying to convince his brother-in-law Soo-cheol to stay with him to avoid going, it killed me laughing. Speaking of Soo-cheol, the focus immediately shifts to his wife Da-hye and their relationship: if in the first moments she seemed like the perfect wife who supports her husband in everything and for everything and who takes care of him, even in this episode, while filling his plate with food and cleaning his scotch glass, as soon as Soo-cheol moved away from her, Da-hye changes completely, losing her perfect speech, her composed manner and even her being she is a teetotaler, drinking all the alcohol in the bottle and speaking foully about her husband; In hindsight it's clearly an important clue to what comes next, but taken individually it's a curious thing about the characterization of the character. In this regard, it is clear that something sinister is happening within the Hong family, with Hong Man-dae's lover, Moh Seul-hee, who seems to completely manipulate him by leveraging on his superstitions, Grace Go who plots in the shadows favoring the already dubious actions of the mysterious Yoon Eun-sung, who seems to do everything to separate Hae-in from Hyun-woo... in short, if on the one hand we have a romantic plot in crescendo, on the other hand a thriller plot is developing that is starting to pump out under the radar. As you yourself noticed, after the boar affair, Hyun-woo is now seen with different eyes by the Hong family, as if for the first time he has become worthy of being with Hae-in, despite already three years of marriage, which which I found funny in the scene at the dinner table with the father-in-law putting food on his plate. That said, I think this was also the first episode that proved Hei-in wrong that no one would care about her if they knew about her illness, showing how they all care about her, even her mother Seon-hwa, who as We know he blames Hae-in for the death of his other son, but he still showed concern for her. The relationship between Hae-in and her mother is the most complex to heal. In any case, episode after episode, although the show tries to maintain an excellent balance between the various elements, the romantic ones, the comic ones and the thriller ones, it is clear that the most predominant one is the romantic side which will become more and more predominant, with a strong streak of melodrama, which is the winning element of the drama and which made everyone who saw it fall in love with it. Thanks for the reaction.
