So far in the drama, it seemed that the reasons for Hyun-woo's unhappiness were mainly due to how Hae-in's family treated him (not only him, but also all the other in-law male relatives, as was shown in the first episode at commemoration of Hong Man-dae's late wife), as well as how Hae-in herself treated him coldly, so much so that they sleep in separate rooms; now, however, what was most likely the cause of this rift is revealed to us, at least in part: Hae-in was expecting a child and that this should have been born on October 31st. In the flashback we see the happiness on the faces of both, a sign that they were still in love. We are not told what happened, but since they don't have a child it's logical to think that she lost him before he was born. We also learn that the room where Hyun-woo sleeps was originally intended for the child and that Hyun-woo had attached fluorescent stars to the ceiling, but that, in the process of converting it as his private bedroom, one star remained he didn't remove it, probably as a personal reminder of the son he didn't have. However, even Hae-in, having set the phone password with the date of the birth that didn't happen, keeps this painful memory. In short, it is now clear that the problems between the two are not trivial, but much deeper and that all the other things that make Hyun-woo unhappy are just an extra to this situation. Even though it digs deeper and makes things more serious and dramatic, the drama doesn't give up on entertaining us starting from the scene in which Hae-in informs Hyun-woo that she has found someone who could cure her (all seasoned with a laugh from Hae -in which seems like that of an evil witch, at least to Hyun-woo's ears), giving us other tragicomic performances from Kim Soo-hyun, who imagines nightmare scenarios living for another fifty years with an oppressive family and a despotic wife who treats him like a slave. However, the best is seeing the awakening of Hyun-woo's feelings towards Hae-in (exactly as had happened on the contrary with Hae-in in the previous episode), in which, here too, he gives us other hilarious scenes, like when he is scared of his own reflection when he was happy to see Hae-in smile, or he is amazed at how beautiful she looks while going down the stairs, or even when he is jealous because Eun-sung had touched Hae-in's hair, which is very amusing the latter. The best, however, is definitely the scene in which Hae-in trips while going up the escalator and he instinctively shouts to be careful, and then hides in fear, all of which ends with Hyun-woo giving some fashionable sneakers to Hae-in sporting Bae Suzy's signature protruding-frontier smile. Small personal note: the scene in which Hyun-woo's father asks for a cigarette and his daughter gives it to him, showing a face between incredulous and angry (because I imagine he didn't know he smoked) made me laugh more of what is due. Hae-in's "personality change" (which for me is not such, it is she who has convinced herself of this when, in reality, her true feelings behind the mask of coldness are awakening), is also having unexpected benefits as, for the first time, she got closer to her husband's family, helping her father-in-law with the election of the village chief, something I doubt she would have done in the past. In this regard, I feel I have to make my own very personal criticism, not so much of this drama itself, but of another of the typical clichés of the category: I'm referring to when, in the epilogue, it turns out that Hyun-woo and Hae- in they had briefly crossed paths during high school, when she was about to move out and he had just arrived, revealing that Hyun-woo had even kept the iPod she dropped; here, this desire at all costs to create a deep connection between the two protagonists that is rooted even in childhood (and in other cases pointed to previous lives) without the two realizing it, personally I don't like it, because it implies that behind there is the hand of destiny, a force that transcends everything and which, in fact, makes all the actions undertaken by the two to get closer to each other superfluous, because everything is already wanted by fate. In short, in my opinion it takes strength away from the relationship instead of strengthening it, I prefer that the actions of both build their relationship and not an external force. However, it was just a personal outburst, I accept in the end that these clichés are obviously liked if they continue to be proposed practically all the time. Thanks for the reaction.

Exactly like what i'm thinking. I'm bored with the childhood connection cleche. But other than that, this drama is amazing😊

I would like to point out that I don't absolutely hate this cliché, especially if it makes actual sense in the story they want to propose to us; It just bothers me a little when they force it in without it having any real added value.

Totally agree with you. From the start it looks just like a married couple growing cold with each other but as I watched the other episodes, it was deeper than expected. I even thought at first why didn't they try to work it out, but I was wrong because they are both suffering from deeper wounds. The comedic scenes here are what also helped me watched the other episodes, but I really got stressed watching the other episodes here haha anyways, thanks for the reply! Please know that I always appreciate this :))

@@lykscamerareviews I don't know why many are annoyed by the thriller subplot of this drama, it's normal and right for it to be stressful, also because that's what it has to do, otherwise it would lose its purpose. I believe that, overall, everything is well balanced to create a drama that works all round. I'm always happy that you appreciate my posts.

This drama broke me. Not because of the context of the drama but because how they unnecessarily drag the villain story. I know life is really always you against the world but sometimes too much is too much on how you portray and see life. Ending is good, reality check, but there’s something in the story line that they definitely messed up along the way. I was so hooked on this until it’s getting too much and unbearable, but it still worked but you know as a viewer even you know it’s good, it could’ve been better. I was hoping that this will be like CLOY kind of series that you’d be willing to watch over and over. It’s good but I’m good watching it once. I hope I make sense lol

Couldn’t agree more. As a Korean I was really disappointed on how this drama was made to be so dramatic. It was so obvious they are trying to highlight Sunghoon so much on his character. He’s really a good actor, everyone on the show are good on what their craft but the writers PDs and everyone in the production geared so much and overdo the “villain” on this story.

I understand you in here and I also felt bad for the villain. He even got hated so much after the drama. Also, I totally get you when you said that they messed it up along the way. There were times I was questioning myself while watching if I made the right choice watching this because it was also unbearable in some parts. Thank you for sharing your thoughts
