Hi Miss Vicky, this was, as always a great lesson but I have a doubt, can you please help? In min 12:18 you are talking about how 께 is honorific , then , in the 3rd and 4th example you used 전화했어요 and 전화를 받았어요 … shouldn’t the verb be also in honorific form? Something like 전화하세요 and 전화를 받으세요? Should the verb match the honorific particle 께? Or is it enough to have the honorific particle to honor the sentence subject? Or is just because it sounds more ‘natural’ to mix an honorific particle with 요 form verbs? Thank you so much, just came here after watching both honorific ending videos! I really love learning from you!

Hi, Miss Vicky! I love your classes so much, I am learning a lot with you. Regarding one of the last examples, how can I know the difference if the meaning of the sentence 학교에 말했어요 is to school or at school? Thank you!!
@KoreanwithMissVicky
@KoreanwithMissVicky 8 месяцев назад
Hi Beth! 학교에 말했어요 can only mean I told the school. If you wanna say I spoke ‘at’ school, it should be ‘학교에서 말했어요.‘ If a sentence is about you doing an action(말하다 is an action) in a place, meaning if a verb is an action verb, the place has to be marked with ‘에서’ not ‘에‘

Hey! I have a question regarding 받침. If 입 and 잎 sound so similar, then how should we differentiate if the person wants to say 입 or 앞 and other 받침 with similar sounds?
@lanadelreysguitar
@lanadelreysguitar 3 года назад
Like 입 and 임 are similar in sound but u need to understand by yourself what is that person trying to say For example of some says 뷔 입니다 it sounds imnida but there is no word like ipnida in Korean it's ibnida so then u can understand that:)

I have one question 선생님 does 말하지마 and 말하지만 means the same ? 😅 Is there any difference apart of how it’s written ?
@nuralam8385
@nuralam8385 4 года назад
No, they are different. "말하지마" means 'don't say' or 'stop telling' and "말하지만" refers to '___said, but' as "하지만" means 'but or however' so u need something before it to use this unless it won't make any sense. Hope it helped. :)

Another great lesson; however, I was taught that instead of looking at the verb to determine "from" or "to" you simply add 서. Therefore 한테 would be to and 한테서 would be from. Am I wrong?
