Soyeon actually found(?) a vocal teacher that helped them improve their own voices. I think that's why they are one the kpop groups with distinct voices. No hate but most groups have members that sound the same which is not bad. Tbh having different colors of voices can be a disadvantage but gidle's songs are perfect for them. That is why they always say things like "only idle can sing" about their songs.
No, I think groups that are having the same voices or technique is boring like their song would be boring if the voices that are singing to it is the same. It is an advantage having different colors of voices... Thats y g idle has the best vocals for me because their group has different colors of voices and it nakes their group unique. I find it tbh boring to some groups having members same voices
@@lyzaaa8178 along with this, I noticed that in I am the b sides had the girls all singing in a way that was aiming for the same color, which obviously you can still hear their unique qualities but they would be dampened imo. whereas in songs soyeon has a hand in arranging their unique vocals are always the forefront and they all sound much more different from each other
One of the things I loved about f(x) was how their decidedly distinct voices would blend. Blend that lost a certain indefinable something when Sulli (RIP) went on her initial hiatus.

Love (G)I-DLE. they were always good but their voices have leveled up this comeback. If it wasn’t apparent before it should be obvious by now they have the best vocal line in 4gen and are quickly catching up to their sunbaenim.
My favorite part of this song was Minnie's high note. High notes are usually *powerful* in songs, irrespective of the song, but the slide and the way it starts off super breathy makes it sound so *delicate* almost fragile and I found that quite haunting, much like the rest of the song. Instead of a powerful note, it was a powerful moment? I'm completely in love.
When you made the comment at 2:11 about "both of their voices" in regards to the tone - you do realize that it's the same person who has been singing the whole time up to that point right?

I'm a big fan of (G)I-DLE, and Soyeon is a genius, but for vocals in a girl group Mamamoo is my go to group. I know you have reacted to "Hip", but to really get an idea of what Mamamoo can do you should check out their Immortal Songs Medley. It's a live performance and WOW. They have beautiful voices, and the best rapper in K-pop, but vocaly I absolutely believe no one is as good as Dreamcatcher, they are the most complete group ever assembled. But would love a collaboration with GIdle or Loona.
I am pretty sure I caught this reaction before, and am not sure why I didn't put a like on it. I appreciate your input as a trained singer it is always good to hear someone with keen ears make good feedback on your favorite groups. By the way, I saw someone correct the information, but would it be surprising to find out that I-Dle haven't taken formal vocal training lessons since debut?
