Normally people try to improve themselves. but Soyeon wants every member of (G)IDLE to stand out from the crowd. that each member is as good as her and she succeeds. frankly arrived has evolved and changed concepts constantly and ensuring that each concept is a success is quite exceptional.

Soyeon is a genius . she can do everything she want . she said few years ago than she wanted than all of the members of (G)IDLE can be good not only at they're position but in every position , Vocals ,Rap , dance, stage presence , visual . and she made it all (G)IDLE members can sing ,dance ,and rap . this song is a little bit like MY bag .

The chorus "wife but she is UMM UMM UMM" I think what they try to say is "wipe your shit UMM UMM UMM." They can clean or cook for you but they don't want to. It's a brilliant concept.

The fact that Miyeon is now the 7th fastest female rapper in kpop despite not even being a rapper (and being teased for being bad) is literally INSANE. Clearly Soyeon knows them so well that she knew Miyeon could do it and wanted to show it off, just like she did in my bag. She's truly the best leader. Only gidle could do this - so true! Absolutely love your reactions and thoughts, particularly your more holistic view of I-dle's whole discography was particularly interesting. I took a look at one of the lyrics videos that just came out and the Korean lyrics are really very sexually suggestive and further underscores that they are rejecting being wives in the traditional sense. My read is that they are coming at it from a sexually liberated perspective - Happy to be part of the fun and games, but when men then come and seek to put restrictions on them - make them a traditional wife - they laugh and mock the idea. They can do everything that would come with being a wife (they make the room sparkle and make soup worth going mad for), but why would they want to do that? The part with Miyeon where the others are stomped on is the exact moment she sings "Wife". They are quite literally stomping on the idea, and at the same time showing how a traditional wife is stomped on. As always there are a shocking number of layers to an I-dle song.

I think in one of their vlogs (month ago) Minnie came up with the idea of the "5 siblings" where they all look the same... 🤔 Back then the other members made fun of the idea. And now we have this.

I find it interesting that you don't see them singing the words. It's like these are the inner thoughts but they're not supposed to say it Edit: I guess they do start singing the words when they are talking about not wanting to be a wife. Which makes it even more interesting. The first part is what everyone wants from them (Cook, Clean, be cute and fun and keep your mouth shut) and the end is the f-you I won't do what you tell me. The first thing that stood out to me about the video in terms of the meaning of the song is that none of them sing/lipsync in the video until the that very last part where they sing together. Their facial expressions throughout even often look like they are going out of their way to make it clear they arent singing along. P.S. I cant help but feel like the choice of outfits was also at least partly inspired by the criticisms they were getting over their "too revealing" outfits lately.

FYI once in thier ITalk show, Minnie said their 2nd come back with all 5 twin looks with same hair and make etc.

For the recent album of gidle, pre released song always show us the society stereotype, then the album title songs or b sides will reflect gidle thoughts and their responses over the stereotype. E.g. the Allergy show the TikTok and ig culture floods the youth mindset, then Queencards taught us be urself and proud of urself is important,and be confident for who u are. For wife, it show woman capability is still limited by the role of wife, or limited by man. Then I believe super lady would show us, woman can be capable in every aspects but not only be the wife who their husband want them to be. Also Doll sings out, I’m not your doll, don’t cry.

If you noticed, Soyeon and Yuqi are actually rap line of the group but they let the non-rap line in the group got the cooler parts and they were the one who set the tone of both verse instead. That's so smart because with this genre, those who are not in the rap line like Miyeon and Shuhua can be look as the weak ones if they don't have good part, so Soyeon chose to do it this way instead

I saw another comment that say the flow is inspired by JJ Fab’s Supersonic. The music video is quite similar too with the all-white background. Loved the rap parts (Miyeon and Shuhua rap like OMG!), the chorus is an earworm, though it took me a few listens to like it

Want me your wife but she is = (Want me to "Wipe" that shit) Since this line doesn't make a lot of sense, seems like Soyoen did it intentionally to say that i am not going to wipe your shit again and it also mention "Grown-up "in the lyrics too.
