The Kpop world knows how talented this man is, and this seductive song with its catchy hook and lilting rhythm is a good example of his art. Songs about depression could be downers but Nive’s confidence that he will overcome his bitterness dominates this track. The aching melody line of “with every breath” is followed by the rising notes on “I’ll be gone”, which float into a dream-like escape. He knows these days will come unpredictably, much like in Jonghyun’s “It Must Be Autumn” where the trigger takes him by surprise. But when these terrific artists need to share their inner world with us so bravely, we’re lucky that their music gives us a path into their emotional worlds.
