Pete made everything look easy when in reality it was not. Still the best athlete to play. On everybodys best day i still pick Pete to come out on top. Novak and rafa have never seen anything like 90s Sampras. Great offensive beats great defense.

Now that I look at Pete in Slow-Mo. His backhand actually look quite similar to Wawrinka's, but its more abbreviated, and therefore flatter. But he opens up his body the same way Stan does. Perhaps Stan was also a fan of Pete's?
Huge fan of pete here. Favorite player ever but stans backhand is MUCH better. Pete could hit a great backhand any given shot and had a tremendous backhand passing shot but had a tendency to hit it with a bent elbow (probably due to switching from a 2 handed backhand so late) and this would lead to occasional short balls in prolonged rallies. Stan stays sideways through contact and opens late due to the sheer amount of power he uncoils.
I know, right? Especially at Wimbledon. Now all we have are sluggers. Serve and volleyers like Sampras, Becker or Edberg are just so much more exciting to watch
