This is definitely more of my cup of tea than their debut song! The songs overall is really good with an amazing chorus, which surprised me a lot actually along with the rap! What sold it for me though was the dance! It was so gorgeous and so well thought out. I really enjoy whenever the dance is telling the story along with the lyrics and the song, the formation was really clever! On top of that they’re wearing pants lmao Really random but I love it! I love how they were styled simply and yet their clothes made it so that they would look like wings and actual butterfly flying! Loved it overall even if I didn’t understand the MV lol.

Loona is for everyone, they have a ballad unit, a girl crush unit, they have r&b, all their songs are gender neutral and they have lgbtq+ representation, they also represent people of colour in a non degrading way (Which already happened in kpop), and they always empower women. It's time to stop sleeping on talent guys !

For me personally HH was really solid debut song, it was fun, youthful and catchy, and had their signature sound in it, it represented LOONA as a rookie grp really well. But I understand ppl have different tastes so thats completely fine. Butterfly is on a league of its own, it doesnt follow any concept other grps did before, its not girl crush, its not sexy concept, its just beautiful and powerful and again had LOONA's signature sound in it, the choero was especially good, this was clearly a dance oriented comeback to showcase their power as a grp and I am shaking rn ! Also, its what I really liked was the message behind this and the representation of all women around the world regardless of color, religion and culture, done in a beautiful way. This is whats the most important part for me, its revolutionary for a kpop grp, especially for a rookie girl grp in a concervative country, they broke the boundries and I am so proud of them 😭😭😭

Sorry if I missed it which I doubt since I follow them since their debut, because in my comment I am speaking and describing specifically Butterfly's concept and no, even thought RV did so many original concepts before I still havent seen something specifically like this concept. Imagine a K-Pop music video not mainly focusing on the girl group's visuals rather on the message of the song and how its choreography relates to the song's ethereal voices and overall harmony. This isn't just about MV views. I totally agree with you! Although, thier debut album wasn’t very much my cup of tea, the choreography for both debut stages were my favorite. As well as with this video, the choreo made me fall in love with this group even more! With the style of this song, and how well synchronized it was reminded me of a female version of SEVENTEEN. For a large group, they make dance look so flawless! 💕💕💕 love your reaction!

México was not directly on the MV, there's a place in LA called Mariachi Plaza, is practically a piece of Mexico on USA, and the statue is in honor of Lucha Reyes, one of the most important Mexican singers in the past years

Basically, someone tries to change the past, and everything goes wrong, like a butterfly effect, which is why this is much sadder than Hi high, because this is a sad alternative of the loonaverse (loona universe)

Yes. Also, as you can see on gowon's teaser, a feather changed into lots of butterflies. Because of that, many people denied eden, became a member of oec, and became an android(?). LOONA is not only 12 member group. They are now the LOONA, and that is the effect that gowon did.

I love how their version of empowerment is so classy and elegant, yet raw. Compared to the more bombastic interpretations Butterfly feels more down to earth and uplifting yet just as hard-hitting

I had already found a bunch of LOONA tracks that I loved (Spotify knows my taste creepily well and once it picked up that I was starting to delve into Kpop it was immediately throwing me tons of LOONA and Sunmi and stuff along those lines), so was already pretty much a fan before this song. But I was hyped enough for this song by the teasers to actually preorder the album. They also completely blew my freaking mind when I tuned into their Vlive they did an hour after release AND THEY HAD SUBTITLES ON A *LIVE STREAM.* WHAT?! It felt like it was more highlights and was a bit delayed but I'll fucking take it, holy shit. I already loved how they tend to have subtitles on their videos pretty much right away, but I still can't get over seeing English subs on a LIVE Vlive. ...Oh, and yes to pants forever.

if you love this choreo u should watch the livestage! it captures so much more of the choreo and it really is sooooo gorgeous. especially their first comeback stage. the choreo is so much more gorgeous than in the MV, though the MV obviously had a more direct message since it isnt a live performance.

I was waiting for your reaction! It's such an amazing somg and mv!! One of the reasons I love them is because they ALWAYS do different concepts and try nee things (of course it's all of their story and LOONAVERSE) You should really watch LOONA's Odd Eye Circle (second sub unit) mvs for "girl front" and "sweat crazy love" and also Kim Lip's, Jinsoul's and Cheorry's (the girls of this unit) solo songs! They have exactly what concept and songs you like

Hong Konger 🇭🇰🇭🇰🇭🇰 says the fifth generation of girl kpop groups is very competitive! Izone, loona, itzy, gidle, everglow, etc are no joke. Despite Izone, gidle and itzy are titled as “rookie monsters” in their generation because of their achievements. But to me, all of them have their unique characteristics and talents that we should recognise them all.
