The interesting thing is that this song is a revival and a homage to MJ without being a poor imitation. It's as if MJ from up there has chosen him by sending the spirit and bless! Everything here is so freaking natural and it's years since we saw something like this! I'm deeply proud of him... I always had the feeling that from BTS we would have the next King, and here we are...the Golden one!💜

I’m 50 (next)… this song took me right back to the 80’s.. the golden era 🙌🏽.. all the late 70’s, 80’s funk music/movies/fashion flashed back through my brain (ESPECIALLY including a roller skating rinks 😂). I was waiting for him to release an album. To be honest, this is the vey First BTS album I’ve physically purchased. BTW, I’m fairly new to BTS and I love everything about them, their music, their company/staff and their message. Love the song/album and your reaction. This video was an homage to Baz Luhrmann's 1996 film adaptation of Romeo and Juliet confirmed by the video director on her Instagram. The fight scenes happens in the movie too, it's the warring families of the 2 lovers. The stage on which JK sings is very similar to the coastal stage on the movie. The meaning of the song's lyrics also means an eternal love that will be with you no matter what. Yes their are obvious comparisions to MJ, JK's voice, his dance moves are reflective of Michael. If ever BTS decides to break up for good, JK will continue to have a successful solo career, he's just so damn talented!!! Loved your reactions again guys, you were both really into it!!!😊😮👍👏🤎🤎

Yes, we're all very thirsty after that. This song is a STATEMENT. This is the most unique and perfectly complete artistic performance. I was left speechless just staring. I'm definitely reminded of epic MJ creations like Thriller and Remember the Time where we all incredulously watched it over and over again!!! I’m a baby boomer and yes, I’m six feet under! I have loved Jungkook for some time now, but this MV was actually an emotional experience! It has taken my breath away. The production was fabulous. JK looked amazing, his voice was unbelievable, and his dancing was breathtaking. The music and lyrics were incredible. This is definitely one of the best MV performances I have ever seen.Jungkook has defended the content of his other singles by saying he is a “grown man”. Honestly, even though I liked the other songs, I found the lyrics to be adolescent “in your face” unsophisticated sexuality. These lyrics, however, are sensual, passionate and meaningful. This is how a MAN expresses himself! Oh Jungkook has grown up!

Spectacular!!!! JK is after the crown of MJ! BTS has always looked up to MJ and his choreography, but even the dance break by JHOPE in Dynamite wasn't as hot as this! I said the same thing about the roller skating. I was ready to put on my skates and travel back in time. It gave me Michael Jackson with Earth Wind and Fire and that disco feel.

You guys ~ I was mesmerized when I watched Standing Next To You for the first time. I was in HS when Off The Wall and Thriller came out. MJ was EVERYWHERE, and yes, I believe I did roller skate to some MJ music… but, mercy, JK has channeled and has become MJ here… This song & video have so many MJ references and prior BTS/JK songs, it’s amazing. Me encantan sus reacciones son muy entretenidos y divertidos. Standing Next To You is Golden, JK is Too Much y si hace un homenaje MJ porque el siempre ha dicho que es su ídolo Pop. Es una canción extraordinaria con una coreografía de otro mundo y una puesta en escena elegante, de lujo como nos tiene acostumbrados JK.
