You can look at the auto tuned voices of Jimin as different voices in his head. The robotic voice, when scenes change, say "Enemy, Better me, & Killing me" He said that he wrote this song while trying to overcome depression. The writing on his body is a famous German poem "Living My Life in Ever Widening Circles" from the 1890's.💜

You got it. "Set me free from myself" is the whole theme. A lot of people didn't get the artistic use of autotune here, said it was horrible. Meanwhile, the distortion of voices is deliberate and the whole choreography is cohesive. Appreciate the depth and details you go over. Park Jimin is a very talented, highly equipped, unique and unrivaled world star❤voice,dance,rap,high notes,deep voice,beautiful looks,amazing performance,handsome,beautiful style,it was a great MV in every way🌟

Things that make Jimin’s voice so unique and distinctive. 1) His naturally high range and 2) the brightness of his tone in that high register. Even when the other members sing the same note , their voices have a breathier quality. Jimin can add breathiness if he chooses but the others cannot achieve his clarity in the really high notes. (THIS IS NOT A CRITICISM OF THE OTHER VOCALISTS! JK IS MY BIAS!!!) 3) His lower register which is rich and contrasts beautifully with his normal high notes. 4) His vocal fry!- like j-hope, it is a natural part of his voice and is often heard when he starts lines. 5) His growl. Most of the time we only hear this in lives but it’s awesome and combined with his 6) rap style can blow peoples minds (Tony Montana live version). 7)Lastly his squeak/cry/yell! This is usually heard at the end of lines and adds emphasis and flare. Like his vocal fry, it isn’t affected but a natural part of his voice. This ends my TED talk😂. This song and RM’s Wildflower really make you “feel”. True art. Watch behind the scenes and all interviews, lives, etc. Especially Suchwita EP 7 where Jimin is quite candid. He tells us a bit more with each promotion.

Listen to the song in the context of the album because it starts with the demons that he's faced and ends with him saying he's freed himself and a request / cry to be set free. You will notice that the dancers are in sync with each other, dancing on the music beat but Jimin is dancing on the lyric beat. It's so clever because he is demonstrating that he can be with others (ie army) but be separate. It's brilliant and stamps him as the mature adult musician that he is and he's asking us to set him free from all we knew before.

the auto switch to his reg. voice is called, call and response, and what a geniues way to represent that. I'm not a fan of overly processed vocals but this was perfect IMHO. This was a requiem to his old, sad, scared self, to his new found confidence in his dance and his vocals. So impressive! You got the 3 different voice, HOW??? ON the talk show with Suga he wanted people to know he wrote almost all of this during covid, he was in a really dark place, lonely, got covid, had emergency appendectomy , and he missed his members so much. Suga was with him. that interview is really good as they are both relaxed and talking and laughing.

❣️ Jimin’s “Set Me Free Pt.2’, it’s everything & more then I could hope for, Jimin’s amazing artistry, his so beyond spectacular,, so mesmerizing, phenomenal performance! The song, Jimin’s vocals, his dancing, the amazing choreography, also the amazing backup dancers, the lyrics he wrote, the music he composed as well as being involved in the production! Jimin was hands on, involved with every facet! No wonder the in-house legendary producer for BigHit Pdogg, who worked with Jimin throughout the whole album, stated that “in 2023 K-pop will be ended by Park Jimin”! Seeing this made me that much more excited, for the full album, Jimin’s “FACE” released on March 24, along with his main song ‘Like Crazy’ MV. Though Jimin’s song ‘Set Me Free Pt.2’, blew me away , meeting all my expectations & then some, I was also not totally surprised, because indeed Jimin is now ‘set free’ from the confines of being part of a group, to now be able to open up full throttle and ‘finally’ be able to release all that he held back for so many yrs! Jimin has been involved in every facet of creating this album! Hands on all the way, perfectionist that he is, including writing lyrics, composing, as well as being heavily involved in production! Jimin’s true, real, inner self will be finally seen in all its raw, authentic, amazing, heartfelt, passionate, emotional, sincere glory! This is aside from Jimin’s full range, hardly ever being shown, aside from high notes, but being finally able to show his full registry, mid range as well as lower registry as well! PDOGG (the producer)was right when he said this would break KPop. Your reactions, and DJ's actual SHOCK are everything! There is an amazing choir and orchestral horns, coupled with autotune of some parts of what he's singing, and then his beautiful voice and choreography. This is just an ANTHEM, and will kill in a full stadium, which I hope to be a witness to if it ever happens.
