the fact everyone that plays this game has personal stories about characters that were all randomized and not supposed to have personalities is just wonderful, my first run i had maxwell, blue hair tied up on two buns and a stupidly confident facial expression slapped onto his face permanently, he was one of the first members of the central team and generally speaking one of my worst employees to date, he had barely any hp, sp and his only actual ability was dealing with attachment-based abnormalities, as time passed another member of the central team, mason, started going up on the ranks with his extremely high supresssion skills for such a then low level character, and olivia, a green haired lady with extremely high insight skills that would put almost any of my future employees to shame, i started decking mason up to the teeth with smile hammer and judgement armor while he had his somewhat characteristic criminal face mask, i remember vividly the first time the mountain of smiling bodies escaped in disciplinary, i still hadn't unlocked ex-bullets so it proceeded to run the whole middle section to the ground while i desperately tried to scramble mason and the rest of central down there, as the three scrambled down to the lower section the mountain of bodies grew and reached its second form, i was 99% sure it was a game reset at that point until mason and maxwell were able to make their way down before olivia, maxwell decked up with the double funeral pistols which didn't do much against their enemy, mason was tanking pretty well until the mountain was able to make its way through him, trying to run away to consume more and more, maxwell was in the doorway and proceeded to tank a few hits and get away with half of his hp still kicking, the mountain ran back to mason and proceeded to try attacking him again unbeknownst that now it was stuck with them in the room while their third member made its way with the freeshooters rifle, as soon as i saw her enter the room i got maxwell to leave as she was charging up a shot, him barely able to walk by her without getting on the way, the mountain got shot multiple times with point-blank magical bullets and mason was somehow able to take that and the mountain's attacks like a champ, in a few seconds the mountain dropped i genuinely felt ecstatic, i didn't understand how much a game that simple could make me that happy but when i saw the three of them wander around the hallways barely keeping themselves physically together but still winners i realized how seeing these 3 go from nameless low-ranks to the facility's personal defense squad made me feel genuinely connected to them. i lost that save file a while ago and tried to remake maxwell as one of my characters since he was my favorite but it never worked, he just wasn't maxwell to me, he didn't survive longer than almost all being such a weak employee, he didn't have mason or olivia as his buddies, he just wasn't the same guy i grew so fond of
Cherish them. Remember your fond memories of them if you're a artist drew it and remember them even if they're just characters you made them real in your heart. ❤
thats how i am with my first employee david blue hair perpetual mad face but man david took all the bullshit like a champ he was the first agent i allowed to work on my first alphe ( blue star) he was decked out in fransies gear with the gift, the rifle and the armor david was and still is HIM if i needed someo9ne suppressed i send david. someone with skill needed for a job send david. David was my first level 5 employee and he is one of 3 of my original employees i keep around and i will not hesitate to restart if him or my other orginals ( lana brown haired bob female with the constantly bucked eyes with full laticia gear and i spelt her name wrong and Micheal bald headed with blue star gear) die i refuse to let them die i dont let them do instakill abnormalities like bloodbath and they are incharge of departments well captains they run shit.
This was honestly a beautiful little piece of storytelling. I too tried to keep all my guys alive for most of my final run, so much so I've remembered nearly all of their names by the end, needless to say when day 49 came, sacrifices had to be made, 9 of my little ones died that day in my best attempt. It crushed my soul to press the next day confirmation.
Minor spoilers but I thought I'd drop my story too: I had a "throw away" nugget named Acacia that was barely lvl 5 in order to use the backwards clock against Binah. Considering where the Clock was, it took a long time for me to get the positioning right to where she wouldn't die. When it all FINALLY came together, I was actually sad to see her go since I'd spent so long protecting her for her one purpose. I ended up having to retry from day 1 in order to 100% the abnormality compendium, and the FIRST employee they gave me was Acacia. Same name and similar hair but a different face. It was surreal, like she had been waiting in this timeline for her turn as the "protagonist" nugget. And she played her role beautifully, as the maxed-gift Paradise Lost nugget.
Acacia remembered and changed themselves to be ready for the role of the protagonist, never treat your nuggets like disposable, some managers grow very attached to them
Kinda true, my kill team usually being settled at the center, if one of them die even if i have suppressed Sephirot, i would fucking do it all over again
It's probably a good thing I went to Library of Ruina, because when I feed someone to a piano there they just come back later, only for me to put em right back in the piano. I have a habit of killing my characters only to bring em right back later.
I treasure every nugget because I don’t want to be set back in training if one dies. Which has resulted in probably over 200 day restarts up to day 44😊
I hate myself so much for not screenshotting my nuggets on the prep screen before Day 49. At least I wrote their names down, the rest is gonna have to be memory.
Might as well throw my own story in here. My first ever nugget was Joy- A green haired, solemn worker who was an absolute beast. I decked her out in everything i had, which at the time was the Smile weapon and suit- with as many ego gifts as i could scramble together. One fateful day, 38 i think- Nothing There popped out of its containment. I got all of my best employees to an elevator to buff n stuff, then sending them out. Everyone but joy was ranged, and she was an absolute unit... I kited the more dangerous attacks, but with a few heal bullets every so often- she tanked just about every attack, leaving with half health after NT was brought down. My next run started with Joy. Same hair, same name- but this time a happier expression. I got her Paradise Lost, the suit and weapon, all of the best EGO gifts... She took care of NT once more, along with MOSB (mountain of smiling bodies) with two other people. Every run since then, ive made sure to start with Joy. She's my good luck charm. I even beat the game once or twice using her.
@@Bobthe10thofalaska Lobotomy Corporation, a game by Project Moon In it, you can equip your employees (affectionately called Nuggets by the community) with E.G.O gifts, weapons, and armor to aid them in suppression should an Abnormality (in this video’s case, Nothing There, one of the most dangerous singular Abnos) escape its confinement. Joy was one of those said Nuggets, and apparently amazing
Went through a game without losing a single person (until the final cutscene was playing but I don’t count those) it took me waaaaay too long but I was happy with it, I got 2 random names to stick with me, Kimberly, and Olivia the rest were named friends I will never forget Kim and Oliv
I treat each of my employees with care. Usually naming and customizing the first 10 or so to embody me and my friends. Even the random "expendables" that I get I try and keep alive and eventually get attached to. But when the Fixer's start to show up it becomes almost impossible to not lose a few. No matter how much planning and prep you do whether you have ever aleph down to a science all it takes is one screw up in a day for everything to come tumbling down. It's why despite being one of my favorite games ever and having 75 hours in it I've yet to be able to complete a run. One day though I'll complete it true ending and all.
2 examples of this on my end being 1: During one loop the was a man named Mason. Mason was a good employee, decked out to the nines in Smile and E.G.O. Gifts. Mason and friends made up the Disciplinary Team, although you'd be forgiven for thinking it was a solo act as Mason was the only employees who stayed in the department, his friends would often be ordered leave and fight in other sections of the facility. Mason, however had a different job, as he seemed to be the only one who could keep Melting Love in her room without much incident. In that department there was Mason the Queen of Hatred, Melting Love, Flesh Idol and the Backwards Clock. They had sleepovers. 2: In an early loop one of the newer recruits took a blast from Der Frieshutes at point blank range and survived, despite her health being displayed as 0 Apparently Lobotomy corp tracks the decimal points in health, but only shows the nearest whole number meaning she had less than 0.5 health remaining.
THIS is why I restart the second one of my agents die, I've had my guys in the control team since day one and I don't wanna see Vera, Mary, Elena, Dakota, Emilia, Mao, Yumi, Narae, Mirabelle, Chloe, Viktor, Morty, Mabel, Rino, Yukari, Mendelez, Archer, Ria, Daphine, Haru, HaLynn, Khanna, Firenze, Yuri, Mishka, Yui, River, Adam, River, or Ryn's name on any gravestone. I've been through over 100 hours with these guys and I ain't letting go.
I guess since everyone is leaving stories about their favorite nuggets and such, i should leave mine. His name is Ramirez and as of writing this, he is the leader of my training team, and is the employee who kept the facility alive, i got the dimensional refraction early game and Ramirez was the only one who could work on it due to his high prudence and a little help from the maddening notebook in the information department. He let me last long enough to get proper abnos and enough energy to survive as long as i have. It's day thirty and i get the feeling i might need to do some bullshit to get all these missions done, but if anyone is making it to the end, i am making sure it is him, and the nuggets he helped me train. Might even remake him in library of ruina. I like to imagine that even with all the shit he went through for this, Ramirez is happy to be working here, he might be from the backstreets considering the shit he is willing to do for me, but regardless, to every manager who is reading this, you can do it, you just have to keep trying. It's what a good manager ought to do.
All of my gameplay was like: "The cost needed to press on never cheap. But the story, the friendship to never ever to be seen or remember by any employee. It hurt me" So that why, i rather use my second option to come back once more, to see they one more. Play that unyeilding card against fate, mistakes and... Lobotomy Corp
I had this nugget at my second day as a manager. Gonzales. Initially I didn't really cared about him because he was just an easy method to manage Beauty and the Beast (so my first nugget don't get the oneshot) as even if he gotten crazy thanks to Penitence I would be able to suppress him back to normal At first, he was just another one of the group, whose purpose was going first at the most threatening abnormalities in order to avoid several kills and potential restarts, because I was more focussed on keeping the rest alive ...It wasn't until Day 23 I think that he just proved himself worth of a higher rank. I had the Snow Queen at Tiphereth (plus another abnors such as Porccubus and Nameless Fetus), and there was another one that I prepared to be focussing on her: Maritza. Dunno what exactly happened, but she was kissed by the queen and trapped on her containment. So, after reading the managerial tips, I send Gonzales to release her from the queen, as I noticed he was the most leveled agent on the facility It was, that animation, after releasing Maritza from the Snow Queen, that made me rejoice so much, so happily seeing both of my agents survived through the day, that just make me realize Gonzales was just built different (plus from that day he and Maritza started dating). He survived through all the Hell I've send him from the second day, he bypassed, _several_ potential oneshots, and was able to keep the rhythm throughout my progression, and he just showed to be able to aid other nuggets in these situations because he was actually that powerful From that day Gonzales wasn't just the meat canyon, but ascended into my number 1 agent, and with the pass of the days, he became more and more powerful, even more compared to the rest (which were also really powerful at that point btw) Now in LoR he's still one of my best nuggets. Literally surviving and beating all the Thumb by himself and with *ONLY* 19 HP through all the reception. It's like he's trying to show me that I can totally trust him in whatever mission I gave, from Lobotomy to Library, Gonzales is just growing more powerful constantly I find amazing how PM can make you empathize so much with characters that are created randomly, and are supposed to be the raw fodder to progress with the story no matter what. Gonzales isn't the only one, I will always remember all my agents from Lobotomy Corporation and my librarian assistants from Library of Ruina (they are the same, after all). Jake, Evgeni, Helligun, Melendez, Rodriguez, Maritza, Mirabelle, Janeth, Roukanken, Diva, Rosario (which was my 2nd most powerful agent btw), and so on. Even if they aren't part of any specific canon, I will remember all my team from these games...
LOOK MAN- I can give you weapons that can kill LITERAL GODS, I can train you to be unstoppable EX-In-Every-Stat monsters, I can pump every shield and heal round in my arsenal into you until you're nigh-invincible, What I CAN'T do, though, is make your goddamn attacks connect.
Probably the only part I disagree with In this entire animation is paradise lost not beating the everloving shit out of NT, like, paradise lost is SO ridiculously overpowered I don't even think nt stands a chance if the manager decides to help out, forget soloing
To survive all those odds, to carry on in spite of the pain and losses that come with it, to be the possibly only legacy your fallen friends leave behind, and the to lose it all because of a game you were neither aware of nor could have played any part in.
I like to believe this is how it ended. How the final cycles went, before everything would go to shit and leave me with the remains of something once great trying to rise again, fighting the past just like they fight the present, a world where L-Corp is nothing but a battleground and open territory for those who seek the land. I like to believe the employees now trapped under my control where once happy, even with the memories of trauma, that those I chose to make where just another step along their many lives, as is everyone else who awoke. I don't fight for the single best of all the books for the book, I do it for the freedom of the former L-Corp staff, human or not, revived in the wrong places, stuck in the library.
I lost quite a few employees on Day 15-19 on my first playthrough. Agalkhemos, I think she died to BatB because I thought you were only supposed to work Repression on it. Percutiens, died to Butterflies but returned after an accidental MemRepos. She is now one of my best employees. Dia. Died to Fragment's echoes. Epimithus. Killed by Small Birb bc he accidentally hit it while trying to kill a Red Ordeal. Those little shits can kill themselves holy fuck Reinhard: Killed by Burrowing Heaven. Returned after MemRepos but was killed yet again by I think Der Freischutz alongside Dialgot, a newer employee (Pansy kept messing up and produced normal work results) And lastly, Iphigenes. Poor girl died to Scarecrow after it ran off to Info. I forgot to give her a proper ego suit because all of the decent ones were occupied. My best guys are: Percutiens, Pansy, and Marinel. Percutiens has Magic Bullet and Gaze, Pansy has Solemn Lament and Magic Bullet, while Marinel has Daredevil and Solemn Lament. EDIT: I have my A-Team!! Pansy (Full Smile build) Percutiens (Heaven, Gold Rush) Ray (Full Crimsom Scar build) Marinel (Cobalt Scars, Daredevil) Secares (Magic Bullet, Solemn Lament) Sordes (Gold Rush, Cobalt Scars)
@@scouty1922 Agalkhemos - Original name Percutiens- Rogue Lineage Dia - Original Name Iphigenia - Agamemnon and Clytemnestra's daughter in Ancient Greek lore Ephigenes - Prometheus' son
My own little favourite nugget was a sassy lookin' Maxwell. Any time that I had to reset to day 1, I'd always make sure to re-create Maxwell, always decking them up to high level as quick as possible. He was there as my first employee ever, and he will continue to be there any time that I replay that game.
everyone's apparently telling stories about their nuggets so i'll tell mine: i remember someone with the magic bullet set called louis, but i don't remember what he looked like beside that also i remember in my very first run i had one called poussey (yes, really) that kept panicking whenever she worked with grave (for context in that run i kept trying to fill every department with nuggets instead of methodically crafting good nuggets using my lob (expectedly green dawn kept absolutely destroying me that run considering it's literally designed to delete low-level nuggets and clerks)) also not as relevant but i remember i had only one person on child of the galaxy because i was paranoid of child mass murdering like 5 nuggets if i fucked up
Never heard of this game in my life until seeing some of the comments mentioning the name of it. At first I just thought this was a cool animation, but I’m pretty interested now. Should I watch a gameplay on it or just play it myself ?
Play yourself. You can't feel the hopelessness just by watching. Everyone has their own level of "sufficient". Someone is ready to put up with small losses, someone kills dozens of employees, and someone is ready to spend 6 hours replaying the mission so that everything is perfect and not one employee dies.
Play it yourself, goes on sale for pretty cheap, and you will have unforgettable experiences with your agents. Also, you WILL feel the pain some abnormalities cause, like the fucking train. Watch a spoiler-free review or two first though so you get a good grasp of gameplay.
This… is how i imagine it New employees, little by little they grow up, some much than others, others well they die in many ways and situations. In the end, after so many days the original employees the Alpha (or Aleph even) Team, they do the final sacrifice, hells got loose, everything is a mess the only thing left are some "rookies" scared down to their core A moment of peace, everyone knows that it's time, Aleph team leaves the room, little by little the Trumphets lower their intensity. After what seems days, weeks or even months, day is over, no Abnormalities wandering on the halls nor the Aleph team. A moment of silence for those who faced the fear to build the future.
God, i love this video. It truly shows how much connection and emotion you can feel to a couple lil nuggets in a game that supports throwing away poeple like disposable items. The main groups we all made truly stick the mosg with us my first ever nugget named Paul i wont ever forget. I nicknamed him "Item handler" as i liked to think he was proficient with tool abnormalities. Then another nugget named Archer would only die in the stupidest ways. And was DESPISED by punishing bird. First time that Archer worked with the birb (Insight) he still died. Second time i forgot about the guidelines and had Archer suppress it only to be swallowed up. Then later my personal badass named Velasquez. Absolute monster rocking Mimicry E.G.O. they would destroy everything in their path no matter what. But later i had to go back to day 1 since i was on day 35-40 without having done Core suppressions since i didnt know you had to do the final Malkuth quest ( i just cant read) so i had to say goodbye to all of them. Second run was nothing special sadly. I found Plague doctor. Realized hed be a pain in my ass Got E.G.O and went back to day 1. The third run was everyones time in this game where they recreate themselfs/friend groups although this group was insane. In this run i managed to get all of the birbs and faced them myself. It was a disaster the first times till i figured out a strat. And after that my main nugget was truly in its prime "Max" wearing full twilight E.G.O vs the Red Mist herself. Max could demolish all 3 phases with some quick kiting and healing bullets. He was a absolute beast with buffs from knight of despair and child of the galaxy. He could tank any and all attacks from Red Mist with ease only struggling with pale because of knight of despair ending it off with a big group attack on Gebura as she got tired out. But i got stuck at Binah suppression and had to give them up again. The fourth run is the run that perfectly set me up for the win. Although i couldve gotten close to the end there i went back to day 1 for one final time The last run, number 5 consisted of 3 teams of fully leveled and trained aleph nugget soldiers Central command 1: the main squad: White soldiers Archer and Joy Red knights Angel and Hunter Leaded by Twilight Basil Central command 2: the ranged militia: Magical girls Paul and Mirabelle Melting rain Delilah and Vincent And leaded by Pink sniper Rino Disciplinary team: the equalizer squad: Blue star Hana and Poussey Smiling mountain Jacob and Katya Leaded by Justitia Marinel These 3 squads were perfect. I had everything my final goal was: make it out with the least casualties as possible on the last 4 days This team had everything. We destroyed fixers. We destroyed everything without major casualties up until Binah. I knew we had to sacrifice some level 5 nugget to the backwards clock to make this possible. I spread all my nuggets around the facility focusing on the lower levels because of obvious threats. We had stormed trough days 46-49 no casualties and as expected. We lost one because my "clock nugget" had gone away and there wasnt time to work on abnormalities. But one of my disciplinary nuggets was nearby so i had to make a sacrifice. I couldnt pause since that risked unneeded death upon random employees so i had to sacrifice him to turn the clock. The last bit went over in 1 pause. Day 49: 7 throwaway employees dead 5 goats dead Marinel Katya Jacob Hana Vincent Ill never forget the ones that sacrificed themselfs to finally end the suffering thats called Lobotomy corporation And then with Lob Corp at rest. We go to the Library
I had this guy, McKenna. He was one of newbies bulk-hired in another big expansion, good if they all had even Zayin gear. To his credit even with most basic equipment he manaved to hold on in the mayhem my poor skill made of L Corp back then. I do not remember how he died because at the time it was nothing strange whether it was an Ordeal or an Abnormality though I hope he just had one too many cans of Wellcheers. The thing is, assignment abhors emptiness and right after his passing I took in one more fresh batch. Among them was a cheery girl with twintails. McKenna. I have no explanation for this phenomenon and no consolation for families of those I left behind but sometimes I wonder how many of my recruits enter this hell in search for loved ones, how many have people to look after outside.
I never play the game, just watching some videos of people playing or reviewing it from time to time, and then this video come to my recommendation. I'm sad now.
i tried my best to keep all my nuggets alive but sometimes after retrying a day over a dozen times i'd just give up and let one die. i still regret not resetting the day over archer. his friends tim and oliver, both III ranks like him, at that time all three working in information department, are now two of my best employees. i wonder if they mourned for his loss. tim was stationed to permanent quarantine for melting love; oliver is with two new agents in disciplinary. one dead one gone.
