It was a remark phrased as a question based on an observation: the ironic juxtaposition between the OP's stated claims (that this is where the chill people are) versus the EMPHATIC, DISTINCTLY NON-CHILL declaration of such. Thus I constructed a simple joke where a root component (percieved contradiction/paradox) is reframed (reflecting the premise back on the subject) as aligns with the theory of humor. So, bruntly, to be funny was its point. Of course, as with many aspects of the human experience, perception of humor is individually subjective, as evidenced by your response. Which is perfectly fine, by the way (we're all chill here, remember?), just try to be little bit more flexible in your thinking because there are many other people out there following that pattern that are pedantically dogmatic and seriously annoying to discourse with on any subject of the sort.
