You're absolutely right. An "expert's view" would not be as interesting. Your down-to-earth, unpretentious perspective makes your videos such fun. Also your relaxed, easy way with one another and with your viewers. It's like being there.
I cant stop rewatching these videos, this one and the Yayoiken one, along with the entire series where Eric hitchhikes to hokkaido, this is gold kyde and eric content.
+ZKT XO Well, you probably won't believe it, but there are people who don't drink. I hardly ever drink, I just don't need it to have fun or make me feel good.
i was at work frying chicken in the deli and i started daydreaming, then i startd thinking about this video and a voice came in my head saying "you gotta open the lips, relax the jaw" lol i cracked up a little
Congratulations you guys. This video was fun and funnily enough i just saw it after i went out for a night of drinking. You guys are adorable (and so is your alpaca) and made me smile the entire video. I am also impressed with the fact that you can bike home drunk, good job.
I cannot believe that you guys have hit 30,000 subscribers AND have many videos with 100,000+ views! I remember seeing this when it came out, and thinking about how fun it is to watch your videos. Congrats you guys, hope life is treating you well :)
You two make this look like so much fun. Sorry you Ms. Katie that your drinks were not better than Mr. Eric. I was impressed though you both left like two captains riding it out there on bikes none the less...Surprised. PROBST! from Europe!! I would be in heaven all you can drink. I would have drank through the whole menu!
The depachika idea is pretty good! We haven't been to Tsukiji because it's not possible to get there from our town on the train early enough to catch the cool part, but we are moving closer soon so perhaps we will hit it up. I've heard they have awesome 卵焼き, so that's pretty exciting. We sure don't claim to be experts on "Japanese traditions", we just try to convey things how we interpret them. I think that's part of the fun of our videos actually, and probably where a lot of the charm resides.
When we traveled here we only had tourists visas. When we moved here Kyde got an instructor's visa (a specific type of work visa) and Eric was able to come as a dependent on Kyde's visa.
i have been living in Japan for almost two years i'm located in Gunma and i love it soo much over here compared to the UK i must say i really do enjoy watching your living in Japan videos it's nice to see how other Westerners are getting along in Japan :D
When I was a kid I visited a Coca Cola museum. At the end they have all you can drink and it's dozens of different drinks from around the world...not just coke. Fun stuff...until you (I) drink gallons of soft drinks on an empty stomach and it ends up being a reenactment of the Dumb and Dumber bathroom scene. Very wise to order food!
Nuclear Umeshu. Man I miss that stuff. I first had it when a friend introduced me to it at a language exchange. Way more delicious than anything else I had.
Awesome! Glad you enjoy it! Sometimes it can be tricky to find videos about Japan in youtube that aren't just people sitting in their apartment bitching. hahahaha.
3:00 in the morning and I'm laughing out loud at the "Susan fell out of the trusty hole" line lol maybe I'm too tired haha very fun video and thumbs up to drunk McDonald's
There is nothing cuter than Kyde eating or drinking and describing it. Video idea - more videos of Kyde eating and drinking! What about going to a Tokyo depachka or Tsukiji market. I have become a fan even though your descriptions of Japanese traditions are inaccurate you are so charming it doesn't matter.
Also, er this might help you guys with Japanese but I'm not sure...for the important greetings/words use mnemonic devices like associate the word with an English word that sounds similar or reminds you of the word so if you need to use the word you can quickly remember the mnemonic and then the Japanese word. Hopefully I made sense, but I've used this to help out classmates with their Spanish and works!
The thing is....those 4 videos were just a compilation of an entire year of things we shot. If we made another one it would take months of not posting any videos to generate that amount of content. I'm glad you liked them though.
you two are pretty awesome. i laughed a lot watching this. thanks for the great explanations for the items you drank. i have tried Calpis here from a asian store. i like it. it is smooth and tastes good. i also noticed that it makes your stomach feel pleasant, probably from the milk and bubble factor. i have tried sweet japanese plum wine and i like it a lot but in small increments. that is strong stuff, very sweet. i like how your lady's eyes were kinda glazed, she was silly. take care!
Entertaining video, thanks you two. Was wondering - I confess I still haven't seen a number of your videos so maybe it's a stupid question, but how's your reading and speaking of Japanese coming along? Obviously you demonstrated some in this vid, but just curious how you both rate yourselves with the language.
wow you guys are so lucky me and my missus are really jealous, we were there last year and enjoyed it so much that we've decided to make it a regular thing to go back and forth so yes ill most probably send you a msg can hardly wait oh you n i share the same first name btw lol.
