It's really awesome that (most?) people see why we don't "try" to cut back on our swearing. We aren't trying to be absurdly offensive either, we're just being us. Thanks a lot! -Eric
one stew bar.....one hundred yen one misore......sixty yen The look on Eric's face while chomping on the stew bar the second time...priceless For everything else, there's you JCB mastercard...or Suica....or passmo.
I love how real you guys are. I've watched most videos at this point and I love how you both are just yourselves and so natural. I've seen comments on other videos of people whining about swearing and things like that, but its just how you guys are and I'd rather watch that any day then some fake person saying what they think people want to hear. I'm a big fan of your adventures and a fanatic for Japan, keep up the great work! Love it all! *That Stew bar really sounded disgusting though lol*
Ah yes, I remember back in the day I used to ditch class and hide by the dumpsters behind school and sniff ice cubes out of a paper bag... Eric knows what I'm talking about ;)
Lotte World! That sounds awesome! Lotte is super popular here. I think in Musashi-Urawa (our home city) there is a factory that you can take a tour of!
Honestly, most vending machines in Japan aren't as crazy as the few that are caught on the internet. We'll keep our eye out for awesome things. Gachapon is actually really interesting. There are a lot of different things out there and we'll put some on videos at some point!
Haha I can't stop re-watching Eric's second bite of the stew bar and the reaction "It's f*ing terrible" lmao. Is it sold in all the convenience stores - FamilyMart?
you guys must be aware with some nick names that seem westerners, but actually are communist dogs police internet try to get you into Vietnam. Tell you the truth I am Vietnamese American living in Richmond- Virginia. I went back Vietnam last year, I had been robbed ( the hotel housekeeper stole my passport to ask for money, and I ate a bow of noodle - pho for only 3 dollar charged me 7 dollar, also ripped off my money on the taxi ride..ect ) just don't go VN, go to see Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in D.C ..better. North Korea, or Vietnam is the same shit...propaganda ahead waiting you in Vietnam. I forget to tell why I came back VN, because I needed to cremate my the death body of my dad - died in the war, look at how civil war in USA between north and south - now all in Arlington cemetery contrast with north communist treat the south people...you know I mean..I go to work now, god bless you guys
If you go to Vietnam and make it to Hanoi, two side trips options would be Sapa & Halong Bay. With Halong you spend one night on a junk and then on a island the second night. Heading south, my favorite place was Hoi An which has special food dishes to that city Cao Lau & White Rose
The closest we have gone to Fukushima has been Shichigahama last year, when Eric went on a trip. You can check out the video for that by searching our channel. I do want to visit some of the islands off the coast of Tokyo, but they are really expensive!! BUMMER!
Hey guys, the stew popsicle sounded completely disgusting - kudos for managing to keep it down (on camera at least)! I watched your bear toaster video where you asked for ideas and I saw in this one you're planning another trip - I thought I'd throw into the mix that I think a lot of us would love to see more of Japan, especially places off the tourist trail - like any of the other main islands. If you were able to get safely near Fukushima I'm sure we'd all love to see your take on that too.
If you can get cheap enough tickets to Canada, winter vacation in the ski hills of British Columbia is amazing, even if you don't ski. There's lots of hiking in the mountains, and the scenery is amazing. I live here and I can honestly say there isn't a day I go walking where I don't stop to take a new picture of the landscape XD Also, you said something about Pikmin? I love those games, I got a Wii-U just for the new one.
Stewcicle sounds gnarly! I had a chamoy popsicle in Mexico and that was weird. Tasted like a sweet strawberry dill pickle with hot sauce. Very odd indeed!
FUCK YEAH Eric, as soon as it cut to the microwave i got excited, because after you said it was terrible cold my first thought was to put it in a bowl and microwave it! Great minds think alike!
awesome video! Thanks for sharing, and Kyde ate the Nubbins! Can you guys do a video sometime of you two playing a Japanese Video game at home? Thanks.. PS Eric, awesome job on your japanese you are doing real well reading that jive!
The only things I've ever seen on TV of the Philippines are crowded raised huts. Expand my mind please. :P Can't believe you actually ate that microwaved stew popsicle...
I think it's good that you are looking for info anywhere! Asking your school or looking into colleges with exchange programs might be your best bet. I've never done one, so I can't help you out! -Kyde
Flights to Vietnam can get pricey in the states. December gets super expensive, like twice the price than what you can get in January or February. The upside is the hotels and food are way too cheap..haha
luv watching ur videos. Lived in the Philippines for a year and it definitely was interesting. You guys should experience the madness in Manila and visit the Subic Bay area. Started some soft serve ice cream stalls all over the Subic Bay area, mainly in Olongapo City. Stop by any stall and taste them. My ex business partners are still running them. Lovely country but make pennies to the dollar living there so returned to the States. So long story short, visit the Philippines.
I was actually planning to travel there myself a few days ago, but other countries such as the rest of southeast Asia (minus Vietnam) got in the way :) So I would kind of also like to see what you guys thought of it, since there really isn't much about it (relative to other countries like Cambodia).
I would really suggest going to Myanmar, as the borders have only been open for three years now (it was possible to travel previously, but not as easily), supposedly it still has the more "authentic", less "worldly" feeling to it. Unfortunately due to the rising tourism currently, the prices are quite high (think cheap japan hotels in off season) and according to agoda ratings (i think they are generally right) the quality is quite low.
Haha, I seriously can't tell if you are kidding or not. First off...women in Japan wear them just as much as women in the west wear them. Also, we are westerners. -Eric
Vietnam would be awesome to see from your two's perspective! Though it would be cool if you two visited Lad's Dining and Casual Bar in Shibuya. Saw it in another video and it would be kick ass to see you two playing the card game and drinking based off of that. I saw the place in another youtubers video from thelalalinzy "Bar Hopping in Tokyo! (Tokyo, Japan Adventure!)
I suggest Vietnam due to the overall cheapness of food, accommodation and shopping but remember when shopping haggling is a must especially since you guys are obviously not vietnamese and they will definitely overcharge
OMG you guys are so funny! I could not stop laughing when Eric started to microwave the popsicle. And you guys should go to the Philippines, We Filipinos love it when we hear insight from Americans about our culture and food. And if you do decide that you're going to the Philippines, everyone over there understands and speaks english, with a heavy accent or not, as long as it's still understandable. :) P.S. I can't wait to see footage, of you two eating balut. Lol
We really want to visit the Philippines, hopefully we can make it down there before we move out of Asia. We almost went for Christmas this year but went with Myanmar because of the cost of flights and the typhoon that had just happened as we were planning. -Eric
+Kyde and Eric if you guys end up going to the Philippines be careful, it can be somewhat dangerous there. When I visited the Philippines I stayed in a somewhat fancy hotel and there was a bin in front of the door to put your gun, and you could just buy tasers from street vendors! Not sure if that's dangerous but I live in Canada Also, beware that if you DO go to the Philippines and make vlogs about it an angry mob of Filipino people will be outraged at any negative comment you make. I've seen it before. Btw, I'm filipino so it's not racist for me to say that.
SuperUltraRollingBomberThunderCorporation Not sure which city you went to, but I'm from Davao City. It is currently ranked the 4th safest city in the whole world. But I do agree, some cities in the Philippines are more dangerous. I also agree about the "angry mob", I call them "butthurt pinoys". For some reason, some(emphasis) Filipinos just can't seem to get the concept that other people can have their own opinions and differences. Not everyone is like this, those people are just abusing the anonymity given by the internet, or maybe they are just plain dumb. I however, welcome any criticism, I am aware that our country has problems. First step to solving any problem is recognizing that there is one.
+touchmenot films it was Manilla, that place can be kinda shady. And I mostly see those butthurt pinoys in the comments of buzzfeed vids especially the Jolibee one.
Stew? POTATO BITS?! That sounds disgusting! You guys are definitely braver than I am. Loved Kyde's expression. Could not bear to watch the microwaved version. I already feel nauseous. Do Nepal so I can see! I've always wanted to go there. I never will, so I need to live through you guys.
For the most part in cities in the states you can find "authentic" asian food if you look for it. But typical american Chinese food or those Japanese steak houses in the states are way off base. You gotta find a mom and pop shop that's run by people from the country to even be in the ballpark. -Eric
You know, we have thought about it. The problem being that it's super expensive when you compare it to other places and the money goes straight to what can be seen as evil people, which I'm not sure we are willing to fund. Plus making a video there would be somewhat difficult with all of the crazy procedures where they check everyone's cameras. -Eric
Eric is all back in the house. Chilling. Stew Flavored Popsicle. naw lol oh naw. I'm good. Eric just eats anything!! Stew Ice cream. Just put to the side. IDK I would have to try it, but IDK. ha ha that's a good one. Can't wait to travel to japan. to try all these weird remnants.
Kyde was really on a rant!! She right though!! Anytime I bring a girl sweets. I keeps it simple! LOL!! But I respect eric for trying different stuff.! I would do weird things too!! lol!! Oh man I'm laughing only cause at the fact how ridiculous all this is!! You prefer the stew bar based off texture..Alright!! :) ^_^ lol.
