This song was the jam back in the day. Mary had the game on lock! Plus she & Lil Kim have been friends forever, so this collab was only right!! ❤️ Definitely go down that Mary J. rabbit hole. You’ve been missing out!! 😏

Boy have you been living under a rock. Mary is the Queen. The blueprint, the Queen of our culture. You better go listen to the My Life album. That album is one of the greatest albums of all time.

Mary has tons of slow songs that showcase her vocals. Ie Be without you, give me you, beautiful ones, stronger, love no limit. Just to name a few. She is very diverse. She can do rock, pop, jazz, hip hop.

You must've been living under a rock when you said you don't too much about Mary's music. She has been a consistent artist. She was everywhere back in the 90's and 00's..videos, radio, tv performances.

Before Lil Kim there was: Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Salt n Pepper, Roxane Shante (1st female rapper), Moni Love (from the UK), Nikki D (now the co-host on Sway radio show). You also had Foxy Brown and Lauryn Hill the same time Lil Kim was out. Lauryn Hill is the best female rapper of all time! There are not to many people who will disagree. She was in the rap group-The Fugees with Wyclef and then she gave us this epic debut solo album that was years ahead of it’s time.

Great reaction! Definitely one of my favorite Mary songs. If you need recommendations, I recommend reacting to Be Without You, Just Fine, Be Happy, Don't Go (My Life album), Family Affair, and Mary Jane (All Night Long).

Listen to her My Life album and The Breakthrough album. You will not be disappointed and will get a great idea about how amazing her music is and how deep her songs really are. And don’t worry about being late on Mary J. Blige 😂 better late than never!!

Okay in my opinion to be one of the top artists you literally have to have longevity with your music your music just Hass to be iconic so wear 10 11 12 etc. years people still play your music people still mess with you hard-core hard-core there’s some people in the music industry that walk around claiming to be the best or some shit like that with their music does not get played like that when you bring up certain artists people don’t really talk about them like that when it comes to their music they talk about the problems that they’ve had with other people in the music industry and they talk about how the music industry is just trying to blacklist this person and there’s one in particular I’m thinking of that’s Nicki Minaj that’s after 10 years nobody really plays her music like that nobody really puts on old Nicki Minaj songs and goes oh my gosh this is iconic no radio stations really play Nicki Minaj‘s old music like that they don’t have specific days out of the year where they literally will play her music all day long they just don’t do that but with people like Mary J Blige Lil Kim Eaton Foxy Brown they do that because they are what you call icons people that really made a statement not just with themselves but with their music their music did something to a whole generation and it was different in the Nicki Minaj era because if we’re being honest Nicki Minaj did not do anything iconic she literally did exactly what little Kim had already done she didn’t create anything brand new it was the same over sexualized thing that little Kim had a hall ready broke records for so in my opinion its longevity with the music I mean look at people like Patti LaBelle Diana Ross people like that that’s still to this day their songs are iconic and when one of their songs gets turned on it doesn’t matter how old you are you know the song because they used it for almost anything that’s the same way with Lil Kim music Mary J Blige Missy Elliott people like that their music is just iconic in a way that other peoples music just isn’t that iconic people do not talk about their old songs or even really bring up their old songs because they’re always sitting there like when are you gonna put out new music we need new music from you but for instance Nicki Minaj has a whole catalog of all the music that people could be jamming out to they don’t realize that they could get her older music back on the charts and Could breakthrough billboard again and end up back on the charts and radio station could start playing her music again but her music just isn’t that rememberable people just don’t mess with it like that but people like Lil Kim Mary J Blige Missy Elliott people mess with her music like that that’s what I honestly truly believe it’s about the longevity of the music not just the person you can be one of the biggest artists ever one of the richest and you could have really good music but if it’s not so iconic that it’s getting played on the radio and in clubs 10 and 11 and 12 years etc. down the road then your music just isn’t it and neither are you for instants I’m a part of the LGBT community I go to clubs drag shows and I don’t ever see any drag queens really performing Nicki Minaj songs they do occasionally but do you wanna know the go to her most drag queens when they want to get in their bad bitch mood they go for a little Kim song straight up they will walk out with a full length for a coat on money to straight kill shit but they don’t do that with Nicki Minaj‘s music and there’s other people that they don’t do that with their music either so that’s what I feel has to do with the longevity of the music and not just the person

MJB first album dropped in the summer of 92'. Now I don't know how old you are but I will venture a guess that you weren't even born back then. It's understandable that you aren't that familiar with her discography.
