Came to check the review of subwoofer … boom subscribed … love your content Shane … keep up the good work …btw … love your reactions when listening to the sounds …😁
Dang you were lifting that 40lb box like it was nothing at the beginning haha. Still think my HSU VTF2-MK5 would beat that with both ports plugged but then for movies you could pop a plug out and get deep bass too with my room with 2 getting to 15hz before it falls like rock. Good review.
Love your reviews. Hey I've got a favor to ask. Before you send back the 1961 package would you mind trying out the bookshelves in a nearfield/desktop set up for music? I'd love to hear how they do in that kind of setting. Thanks!
I have been debating two of these or possible one SVS1000PRO, I want a bass unit that can deliver a punch to the gut when the scene requires it but not necessarily the rattling your walls and floor kind of bass. What's your opinion?
Thanks for this video. In your opinion, do you think the sub would give those chest hits as it breaks in ? My thinking is, as the driver is able to travel more, the punch will increase. What's your thoughts?
Hi could you please advice that between Q Acoustics QB12 and Monolith 10" THX subs which is better for my new setup ? I am planning to get Denon AVR x 3700H and Q Acoustics 3030i bookshelfs. Thanks
Im planning to get a sub, for movies and music, im still debating if ill get the q acoustic12” or the svs sb 1000 or the svs pb1000, in your expert opinion what would you get if your going to buy one, ill be pairing it with q 3020i and q 3090 c, ill be running them with either Sony 1080 or onkyo 696? Tnx in advance for your expert opinion.
I have recently purchased Q Accoustics Subwoofer QB12 to use it with my Klipsch Fives. But after connection, I am unable to get any effect from the SW. The SW is connected to the Klipsch Fives SW OUT through LFE IN of SW. The SW ON indication is glowing. I have set Gain level at 50% and crossover at 80HZ. But unable to get any SW effect even after boosting EQ bass level. I have tried all settings of Gain, Phase level and Crossover, but no change. It is as if the SW is not connected. I don't know what is wrong. Please advise
Hi, Did you ever get any more out of this sub? I have just got one as well and also find it lacks punch (only had it an afternoon so maybe some settings still to try!). I have a Mordaunt Short Genie 10" ported sub which seems to have much more bass. I don't know where I'm going wrong either as this cost almost as much as the whole 5.1 MS Genie's did.
@@funcionyforma hi, yes I got it going much better. I think I tweaked the crossover settings and have now had to turn the sub down on the rear controls! I had been using it with an Onkyo TXNR646 but have got it out in a garage conversion now with a Denon AVR-2700H and it's been great. I do need to change the subwoofer in the house (the MS one) as it's packed up after 8 years and am looking at the Wharfdale Diamond SW-150 to replace it. Just waiting to see if the price moves over Black Friday. I'll try to remember to add a comment here as a comparison of a £400 vs £150 subwoofer and see if I overspent 😉
@@steve_787 Thanks for replying - I've got one and also using it with the same Denon 2700H amp ..and also seem to be struggling to get anything out of it. Just ordered a new cable to see if that helps. Have the full Q3000 cinema speakers, have it turned to AV on the sub and phase 0 and auto on the back. It's on and working..just very underwhelming.
@@Esge71 Hi, I have mine setup with the dials on the back set to AV and phase 0 as well. I have the level set to about 70% as I like a bit of bass. It's connected with a Deleycon RCA Y cable from Amazon. In the 2700H I haven't run the Audyssey yet and have the following manual settings: Speakers set to "small", Crossover @ 80Hz, under the "bass" setting I have it set to LFE+Main & the LPF for LFE @ 120hz. I did up the subwoofer level +6db as well. I'm sure these aren't the best settings but sounds a lot better. I did get the Wharfdale Diamond SW-150, as mentioned above, and have been very impressed by that in the house given the price. I kinda wonder if 2 of those would have been the better option as it would have saved a bit of money as well 😅 That being said, I do notice a difference in the bass produced, hard to explain but if you have a few scene with say some rapid fire bass from a gun or something, the SW-150 sounds like one loneger bass line with some dips between. The B12 you can hear more distinction between the gun shots. It's not much, and could be all in my head, but whilst the B12 might not be as deep, it's more precise which adds a bit IMO. I think it's a characteristic between a ported and seal subwoofer as the sealed ones come back "rest" quicker. Or, it could be that the B12 is in my garage conversion which is a lot smaller room than the more open plan living/dining room in the house. Hope this helps!
I have glossy white QAcoustics floorstanders. The gloss is not from a glued on laminate. It's several layers of polished lacquer. You can feel and see the extra cost in the quality.
