was raining heavily tonight, decided to light up a cigarette and hang out my bedroom window while playing this masterpiece, watching the rain as it hits the ground and everything around it. Made me think deeply on how our world has got so bad, with all the riots, wars/conflicts, sex/race discrimination, so called viruses and losing a good few years… we use to live in a peaceful world with even the internet just becoming a mystery. Was simpler times back then for sure. Just nice to sit and think once in a while and not be so blind to it all. Humanity has become so distant, just social media projecting how our lives should be or look like, even public transport… a train for example, no-one dares talk to a stranger or human. Heads down on a screen, looking at 20 second clips or shorts. Kinda sad state of reality right now and feels like people are drowning in time.

This is the ultimate escape from pressures and stress. There is bad news everywhere yet, i shut myself off in my study and fade away into this music. I can listen to this over and over again.

the birds were softly, sweetly singing in the majestic arms of the old willows. fall has arrived, and it was a truly beautiful sight now-the earth was being painted a new color. and in the process, dots of warm colors were splattered all round. i had decided to go for a stroll that crisp morning- and then i saw him, walking beneath the great willows, my heart jumped with excitement and i quickened my pace. i wanted to walk with him. i wanted to talk with him. it had been years since i’d last seen him. i had cherished, and read every letter he sent me since the day he was deployed, and now, finally i would be able to hold him once again. i kept him in my sight, but i couldn’t catch up. so i began to run. my heart was racing, but i kept on going. still, he was just out of reach. i picked up the pace, but no matter how fast i went, he only grew further away. i halted myself, and watched as he slowly faded over a hill. my heart sank. i’d lost him now. i walked over by an old, large oak, and sat down on the dewy lawn and let the tears flow. he was gone. i had lost my chance to see him, my chance to hug him, my chance to catch him up on how life over here was going. i leaned my head against the broad tree trunk… and then, i woke up. the moon was still high in the cold night sky, branches of trees outside my window rubbed against it. it was a dream. a dream so realistic, i had almost dared to believe it was reality. but it wasn’t. my mind was coming back to me now, and i began to cry. night after night i dreamed that he had returned to surprise me, but he wasn’t coming home. i never will catch up to him now. he was gone. i still had the letter of his death on my nightstand, it was wrinkled and tear stained now. i fantasize each day of finally topping that hill, and being once again held in his embrace. and each day i’m still walking alone, i drown in my own sorrow… wishing i was with him. ~ a novel by beth & lily
