The main water supply pipes to the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) were damaged last night due to heavy rainfall at Bedi-Bada. The 450MM diameter pipe, which is the primary supplier connecting Mowb-II to the water source points, suffered significant damage, disrupting water supply to the region.
Site Engineer Tamchi Tassung has appealed to the public to cooperate with the department during the restoration process. Residents are advised to use rainwater as an alternative for daily use until the pipes are fully restored. Tassung emphasized that the department has been working day and night to resolve the water crisis. Despite the difficult terrain, the team reached the damaged point on foot.
Tassung assured the public that the restoration time will take approximately a week. He urged residents through video messages to cooperate with the department during this period.
The breakdown of this crucial pipeline is expected to hamper public access to water temporarily. Authorities are working diligently to address the issue and restore normal water supply as soon as possible.
