He is the literal insert of the players into the game, venom spreaded big bosses legacy like we do trough media. He is probably one of my favourite characters
To realize it was all a lie. To die realizing you were betrayed by the one person you were closest to, and your killer bears an unsettling resemblance to the man you idolized and became. Crushing
@@cowboypenguinWell Venom never wanted to be Big Boss, the title chose him. Venom Snake worked for MSF as a very loyal soldier, Venom was loyal to Big Boss up until he was killed by Solid Snake. He won, he completed his mission and changed the world.
@@nines3580 the game was delayed by six months and kojima productions disbanded a month after it came out. The last six months are largely going to be polishing and finishing the graphics. The actual game parts would have been long done.
“I won’t scatter your sorrow to the heartless sea, i’ll always be with you. plant your roots in me. i won’t see you end as ashes. you’re all diamonds…” -venom snake
probably the first intresting line he says in the whole game, they could have been more if the game was complete tho, the character literally starts to get intresting there and the game ENDS, when he start to care about his men and stuff
@@Spillow-C the game was complete though, there was one cut mission. which is the events after eli takes control of sahelanthropus. and there’s the issue of quiet, and her possibly being sniper wolf’s mom. but in all there’s a lot of good voice lines from venom. i think they’re lackluster in terms of comparison to david hayter’s snake and big boss. but in the nuclear deterrence cutscene, venom says: “I haven't forgotten what you told me, Boss. We have no tomorrow, but there's still hope for the future. In our struggle to survive the present, we push the future farther away. Will I see it in my lifetime? Probably not. Which means there's no time to waste. Someday the world will no longer need us. No need for the gun, or the hand to pull the trigger. I have to drive out this demon inside me - build a better future. That's what I - what we - will leave as our legacy. Another mission, right Boss?” how can you hear that and not get chills
That speech is part of that stupid rushed ending so i dont count it. The game is objectively incomplete tho, that mission that you bring up doesn't improve the situation either, is not a ending as we get used to in Metal gear saga, that always end with a epic bossfight and great payoffs, my theory is that was gonna be big boss vs venom before they become allies in future, this game ends in a DRY, insipid, unsatisfying way right after Venom snake starts to shape into a actual character that was gonna become evil too, the face of outer heaven, that is not the ending of an arc but the middle of it, outer heaven is juts a co** tease when it should have been part of the final act. The game overall doesn't have a complete story structure (chapter 2 is a joke in every concievable way, even gameplay wise that recycles missions, even the ending recycles the prologue) and character arcs, especially venom's one as i explained, and the final revelations are out of context because they should have been revealed in a natural way in the present, and not through a fu**ing TAPE like a lot of other stuff, that is NOT a ending that make sense, that final mission is like "sorry, guys we didn't finish the game but here's anyway the plot twists revelations of the final act of the game that we will never made" Cope harder pretending that this game is complete for some reason.
@@Spillow-C there’s no coping when the game is complete. boo hoo no big boss fight. the r&d and gun building is better than any metal gear game in time’s past. the buddy system. airdropping supplies, all the outfits and content you can’t tell me it was incomplete because of one mission. the game doesn’t end in a finite way because the story of venom is go on to make outer heaven, living out his dog days. forming the early part of the what the patriots would be
Venom is not stronger than the real big boss because in a cut scene venom stares at the mirror while there gunshots from outside and that was the real big boss taking down Diamond Dogs and venom was staring at the mirror knowing he couldn't beat him
@@waltuhblack-x9sthe reason people call venom superior to big boss, is because venom built half of the legacy for big boss while big boss was away to build an army (correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t remember) so basically the legend of big boss is venom.
I've become so much like Big Boss it's scary. I wear an eyepatch, throw orders at women, and exercise CQC moves on my friends. When I look in the mirror, I can't help but say "kept you waiting huh?" (which is the catch phrase of Big Boss in game). I always carry around a cartoon box with me. just in case i needed to hide or sneak up somewhere.
You can see the difference between Venom Snake and Naked Snake in Big Boss's final speech in Peace Walker the true face of Big Boss appears and in the final nuclear disarmament of Venom Snake, the true hero of this story.
Heavy respect for MGS series in general for being a masculine drama. No other media is able to be this overly dramatic yet manly. Honestly one of a kind.
Why did bro smile after breaking the mirror “Hell yeah, now Kaz has to fix and pay for this shit while I get to walk away.” “Why?” “BECAUSE IM BIG BOSS!”
@@privet2pizza it’s not confirmed that this was before the fight. Up to interpretation, sure, but not fact. Let’s make this a debate, actually. What’s your reasoning for believing so?
I'm a mgs addicted, and this is a damn serious editing on a already masterpiece. Doing this, is art. Ps: the game isn't complete, but the intention was to leave plot holes. So if kojima had a bigger budget, we're having more maps and weapons, and questions.
@@gadellomagnollo1810 a mission 52 following up on Eli's escape was never finished. It featured a boss battle with the Sahelanthropus pilot by Eli and an ending to his storyline.
Why everyone says the game isnt finished? The game was finished, those missions are only cut content. And if you bring the argument of not having enough budget, that was literally Kojimas fault. He could easily rehired the old voice of snake, but decided to waste all of his money on an expensive hollywood actor.
@bnbnism yeah, the game had a huge budget, but Kojima took a huge portion of it and used it to deal with Sony and work on a game that never even came out, P.T. Truly Hideous Kojackass

Kojima said that the game was complete and that he was content with it. Still don’t understand why everybody constantly calls the game incomplete. Or why people shit on the story. It’s good, but I think it’s gonna be a repeat of 2, where people take ages to finally actually appreciate it.
so, after seeing everyone saying that the game is unfinished, I decided to comment too and talk about what I think. I love metal gear, I loved it as a kid, I still love it now. knowing that it's gone, makes me sad but I won't ever forget everything the game thought me, what it made me feel, the messages behind every creation. everybody should grow up with it. Konami will eventually remaster every game but that's it. MgsV to me is a masterpiece. I don't care if the cut mission was supposed to be a dlc, the game is finished and the story isn't but without any possibility of having a sequel and I'm actually fine with that. it just feels wrong to know that there's still the metal gear and the parasite on Eli's hands tho.. what about the children? that's it. I just would like to see it all end, close once for all a massive chapter of my life that I shared with the game, get along with it and replay all of it at one point. who knows, even showing it to my future wife or kids, idk. like mgs 2 says, I just want to pass the ball to future generations in order for them to enjoy this rollercoaster of emotions too. I know that this is just my opinion and probably this won't happen cause I don't think Konami will touch these games ever. I mean I hope they won't go further with the story just for a quick buck of course, after what they did with the master collection.. I don't really trust em. so yeah, we won't see the end, but the game is done. we'll see when they will release the second volume if they will add it or in future releases of the game, probably I'll be dead already at that point HAHA. aight, that was my opinion, cheers!
I remember grinding through the game on little sleep. Not really paying attention to details wondering when I was going to finish this game…. mindlessly continued to play and after replaying the final tape again from BIG BOSS I was mind fucked. Lol
So, you're actually a doppelganger for a highly respected war hero so the he can live peacefully without the stress of remebering him killing his old mentor, ok you do you
I would love so much to see a movie that's like, some 1970s gonzo documentary director just hangs out on (MSF) mother base for a while. He interviews BB and Kaz and the gang, plus some soldiers, joins in on some missions, and it's just kind of the story of MSF told as a contemporary documentary
As I type this, someone did me a great wrong causing me to start back from square one. And that thirst for vengeance is now driving me to build back something even greater and better than what was taken. So yeah, Venom is literally me.
I hate how the "WAAAAAH GAME UNFINISHED" rumor is still circulated as truth after 8 damn years. Kojima finished the game, he said it himself without anyone pressuring him to say that, people should really get over missing one planned DLC mission with Eli that wouldn't've changed anything in the wider story arc. As a long-time Metal Gear fan since the PS2 days, it is the single most infuriating thing about the entire community. V's story was also really good despite its cassette-heavy minimalistic approach (and the repetitive hard mode missions from 31-50 iirc). I prefer the stories of the first three Solids but it was much better than most would lead you to believe. Really nicely written, although I think Peace Walker already had mostly bridged the gap between the Big Boss era and the Solid Snake era. V absolutely also has the greatest stealth gameplay to date, it feels incredible to play. The only stealth games that rival it gameplay immersion wise are Thief 1 and 2.

I have history with this game bro, i have a love hate relationship with it, first time i played MGS1 it was when i was 6 years old i remember my dad brought it for himself i used to watch him play it, and i didn't like it, i was too young I didn't appreciate the stealth back then i was more into the action, do i kinda carried that idea with me which somehow made me avoid the whole series as i was growing up, i remember seeing MGS3 on the stores and never even considering it for some reason, it was The phantom pain that caught my attention, and i loved it, i simply felt while playing the game that this is it, this is the best game I've ever played, and i wasn't wrong, it is the best game I've ever played, but i hate it as well, i hate it because it's one and only, I'll never get anything like it, i know most people will say there's still Mgs1-4 and peace walker, they're great, and i know a lot of people things they're better, but they're not the same at all, i think MGSV is different, and probably some think that different is a bad thing but not to me, that difference is was actually made me wanna play it. Unfortunately that's all i could get.
