thanks for the video. I would like to start making beaded bracelets. can you tell me what kind of beads you use and where you buy them. Is the thread you use not nylon but cotton? where can i buy it? thank you and a thousand compliments, you have good taste.
This is so pretty. And props to you for making that loom yourself. Please tell me is it sturdy and does it work for long time. I would love to make one myself
I made it for temporary use. The loom bends a little from the tension of the threads, so it's better to strengthen the bottom with more amount of sticks. In the future, I plan to make a video with other variants of looms that will serve longer.
Ya’at’eeh! Mooi bracelet! Am sorry some comments are being nasty here, people don’t know if your Indigenous or not, they should find out before they say anything! Your work is amazing beautiful 💗💗💗
I bought them in an art store. I used two different manufacturers: the first one is Zlatka (made in China), the second one is Gamma (made in Czech Republic). Maybe this will help you to find something similar.
@@lourdesappleby1557 On my Instagram I upload finished works. Here is the post with pics of the bracelet. 😊instagram.com/p/B8WmlPdB3ss/?igshid=h1gywbe35zq0
Continue weaving as usual, but with the condition that each subsequent row will be with fewer beads (like I have at 6:50). This will form the V-shaped end of the bracelet. After weaving is completed, you can hide the warp threads as shown at 7:14.
I just want to say " I LOVE YOU" and "THANK YOU SO MUCH". I know how to bead I think a lot of people do but it is the finishing part people struggle with, it is taking the bead work and adding clasps or leather ends that makes it difficult. I wished someone hopefully you will do more finishing videos. The ones before I found you either don't fully show how to or their videos are not fully explained so that it makes the video easy to follow. I know myself that once I do something it sticks it is just being thourly showed how and you nailed it straight on. i just want you to know you are a hero of mine I feel like I can get my loom work to the next level now. i am going to subscribe and I really hope you will show more finishes to loom work I know it would be a gift sent to me if you did. One more thing mens finishes for loomed braclets could you do one that is intended for men please? Thank you so much for all you do it means the world to me as I love to bead.
I usually look for patterns on Pinterest. IS THERE ANYWAY TO SAFELY CUT A PEICE OF LOOMED BEADWORK TO MAKE IT SHORTER IN LENGTH? i HAVE AN OLD BELT i WANT TO MAKLE INTO A HAT BAND, BUT THE HAT IS 23 INCHES, (SIZE 7.25) AND THE BEADWORK IS 26 INCHES?? I NEED TO REMOVE THREE INCHES.
It's best to cut off the knots at the very beginning and manually loosen the beading by removing the beads to the desired length. After that, tie the warp threads together as I do at 8:00. If you cut off the extra three inches right away, everything will fall apart. I hope the advice will help.
Of course I don't mean to devalue the culture. And doing crafts in the style of any culture doesn't mean to claim the title of such. And I'm sorry if this video hurt your feelings.
Ok so what is the race of the individual making this? I don't want knock-off or wannabe Caucasians that say "i'm 1/32 or 3/4" I need a female with a true indigenous tribal father to teach me, certainly not an offspring of colonial rape or confusion.
Haha 🤣 I was just saying to my significant other that people should state "a copy of native techniques," or, something to that effect in their titles. I want to learn directly from "source," too. Thanks for having the 'brass ones' to say it.
I changed my mind from my other comments, this is appropriation and non native individuals should make their own designs instead of using bastardized versions of ours, especially when they don't even recognize that "native Americans" are not part of one conglomerate culture. We're many different tribes with many different beliefs. If you'd like to learn how to bead from native beaders, Mona C is one lady that I watch, although I don't believe she does loom work.
blood quantum is a colonist mindset that we as native peoples do not abide by. it is commendable that you wish to learn directly from us but please do not harm our cultures by imposing colonist ideologies.

Thank you! I bought my beads offline from a local art store. You can search for them online, but, please, note that the colour and size in the photos may differ from the actual ones. That's why I prefer to go to the store. I can compare colours, shades and different manufacturers. What about threads. I used sewing thread, not elastic, I think, cotton. I bought them many years ago from a local store as well.
Actually if you’re making bracelets, nylon threads like nymo which is made for beading is better because it stands up to abrasion better. Yes you can work with cotton but it won’t wear well. The edges of glass seed beads are sharp and wear through threads fast, that’s why nymo became a standard.
