Great demo. I started making jewelry about 30 years ago or so, and we did not have crimp beads. We used the clamshell bead tips, tied a couple of knots in our beading thread and fed them into the bead tips and close the bead tips up. To this day I still use this technique, and even have some of my first pieces that I made this way that I still wear.

Thank you so much. I have done it this way in the past but I find crimp beads so much easier. I'm always worried that my knots will come undone, especially when I use Tiger Tail. Do whatever makes you happy and works.

Hi Carol. I just found your channel and subscribed. I love your comment about teaching people the "right" way to crimp. My philosophy is there is a theoretical way and a practical way. Theoretically, the "right" way to crimp is to crush twice. Practically, a single crush can secure the wire. If the end result is the same, then practically is as good as theoretically. Striving for perfection is a sure-fire way to take the joy out of a beginner's creative process. I think an experienced crafter will develop their own practical methods that work for them. And, hahahahah, on the crimp covers. I struggle with these lil forkers as well. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Those crimp covers are my nemesis as well. Lol Those large hole beads to cover the crimp tube are great but with small bead designs it doesnt work as well. On large bead designs those work beautifully. That magical crimp tool is magical indeed. I've got to get one of those! Beautiful pieces and great demo. If you crimp your crimp tube flat, you run the risk of the crimp sliding off after a few wears of your jewelry. I've had it happen to me before learning to crimp it in the middle and fold it over. FYI. 😊
