St Conan's Kirk, Loch Awe, Argyll, Robert the Bruce, Campbell Clan, Exploring Scotland's History
A visit to the fascinating St Conans Kirk in Loch Awe. Built by Douglas Campbell, the site carries history and urban myth in shovels. An opportunity as it was an open day, to view the crypt, not usually open to the public. The church contains the bone of one Robert the Bruce too!

What an interesting place! I love how he used so many bits and pieces from other places to make it his own. It would be a great place to explore. It looks like a place where you could find something new each time you visited. Maybe one day I can visit this place. I would like that. If not, I'm so glad I got to see it here!

@@ExploringScotlandsHistory I've driven by it, on a coupe of occassions, and I always meant to go in. Unfortunately, I never had the time. As soon as it's own again, I am planning on visiting it.

Great detailed video folks! How did that black Lady Peggy get to Lochawe? The architecture of the kirk is defineately very unusual, and the architect was certainly eccentric. I take it that the stone used came from Bonawe, as it looks very solid and heavy. I could lose myself in there for a month of sundays, and still not see it all. ...old Tich.
