I think it should only happen if they do a "you can't do this ability as a child" trope, if that doesn't happen, it has no purpose.

Long as "Dragon Ball Daima" is more Martial Arts oriented (just like OG Dragon Ball) and doesn't abuse too much Ki Blast Spam most of the time like in DBGT (leave that only as Vegeta's Technique ™️).

When ssj4 is introduced, it really should follow the path Broly set and be totally unique to each sayain utilizing the form. Ssj4 takes a sayian's body to its biological peak. It's supposed to be every ounce of genetic potential brought to the surface, allowing them to adapt to any damage taken, fight with stamina built for war, and in the case of Goku's eyes after Eis shenron even a mild healing factor. I don't just want to see forms stacked on top of eachother (at least not right away), I want it to be a potential form that functions a little differently depending on who's using it and perhaps as such it might not be right for them.

If we do get super sayian 4 in Daima it could be interesting.

This strict adherence of trying to fit everything into the 10 year gap is a detriment. Just explicitly make out it’s its own continuity starting from the end of Z. It doesn’t have to follow into super. This way they can be their own branches. They’re free to explore story lines without restrictions and making what’s already pointlessly contrived even more so

I personally would love to see ss4 again unlike some people that are haters of dbgt when really they should be haten the writers that made dbs anime so hit and miss so yeah dbgt did better than dbs overall

If they did ssj4 in daima it would most likely be due to them losing their godki abilities bc of their physical differences, but if they do it like this, i feel that its gonna be like ssg, basically its gonna be used for only this situation then they'll ditch it, barely be used again if at all bc of their stronger forms becoming usable after the conflict. I dont was ssj4 to end up like ssg, one major use then discarded/replaced

Tbh I always felt like the best way to add a new form even with Ui being around is if they made it with a unique enemy in mind where Ui wouldn't work on due to how the bad guy is. Maybe the bad guy uses magic and illusions that Ui cannot overcome, granted he's strong enough but "all the strength in the world wouldn't help if I can't hit the guy". Maybe the new villian does something to prevent goku remaining calm and because of that, he cannot let his body move on it's own. Meaning he'd need a form that taps into his rage more. Not the best examples but you get when I'm on about. Instead of having the newest form be the best version of everything, making different transformations be different tools in goku's belt for situations would be better as there would be more reason for him to not go full power. A smart villian cannot be overpowered so easily and might even use said power as a means to be stronger themselves. Like 73 moro and his copy ability.

I think it’d be cool to explore more of the oozaru roots, since that’s been absent for a very long time now, but was once a defining feature of the race. Combining SSJ 4 w/ UI should result in something that’s most powerful and I’d celebrate it

I think that Akira Toryamas fixation with making Goku a kid again in all his reboot series is a mix of his obsession with Journey to the West and his nostalgia of being a young animator just starting out making his first manga series Dr. Slump and Dragonball. I get that the 80's were cool (especially in Japan) but man this show just feels like GT but with a touch of Tiny Toons. Obviously Toryama yearned for the old days until his death. When the anime's released he lost more and more creative control over the characters he loved as executives and fans needed to be appeased for his franchise to succeed, thus it gave him a negative association with the later series like DBZ, GT and Super. I feel like in his later years Toryama caught the George Lucas syndrome and started to hate the fans who continually misunderstood his vision and work. But instead of selling out, he left us with something of his own creation one last time as a love letter to his true fans and at the same time, a middle finger to those who always complained and criticized his work. Either way, I plan to watch Diama. Ill still enjoy it wether its good or bad knowing it was the big mans last hurrah.

I really doubt that they give a canon version of the SSJ 4 to Goku and Vegeta, it would be pushing aside the divine forms, but in the case they add it I hope they fix the base design.

i think they could do ssj4 if goku is a kid with a tail again it could be with his experience an being a kid again he could transform from seeing the moon but then take control of the form resulting in ssj4 an after that he could figure out how to use it with ui making another transformation making that ssj4 with white hair

For what I've been seeing, there won't be emphasis on transformations, but regular stuff with low power levels, and that's why they're all brought back to kids, to all be able to compare, Master Roshi, Goku, Vegeta, Krilin, Trunks, Goten, apparently maybe Gohan too, but not sure about that yet, so, all of the kids are kids and the adults and very old adults are kids as well... Lets see. And I really hope they move away from continuous transformations. I watch DB since the first or second episode, when it aired in the 90s in Portugal, it was never meant to about transformations...

None of this will happen in Daima. The only thing it has in correlation to GT is Goku being turned back into a kid again and nothing else. The reason SSJ4 is put on the back burner is due to how poorly it was received in Japan. I personally learned to what extent it was greatly disliked when I lived there for 2 1/2yrs, discussing it the friends I made over there. The best comparison I can make to its dismay is the Nintendo Wii U, if you’re a gamer or even if you just simply google it, you’ll understand. If you know anything about Japanese business culture, they tend to steer clear reminders of their failures as best they can, hence why anything SSJ4 related is only seen in Heroes content. Lastly SSJ4 is completely based off filler and NOTHING that was in the manga. The episode of Vegeta “explaining” what the LSSJ was is purely and solely based off filler. That very scene, of Vegeta monologuing about it, is NOWHERE in any of the manga panels. So in essence SSJ4’s entire concept isn’t based off of anything from the canonical manga telling. Even Kai, which closely follows what is only depicted in the manga, completely cuts out that entire scene from the series. So fans really need to stop with these head cannon high hopes of Daima having something to do with SSJ4. Daima is going to stay true to all that Toriyama left and intended for it to be. Shuiesha will not deviate from that as this is how they will honor his memory and legacy being one of the very last things he worked on.

Just an Fyi, after the ressurection F arc during Super, Toriyama said in a interview... (someone asked how he views GT now with super taking its place) that GT is more or less a different timeline... although I feel like me may have said that because of DB Heroes (which is makes sense when you watch it), but it just means that anything is possible, specially since a fanservice guy is now taking over Dragon Ball. The best way to introduce Super Saiyan 4 without conflicting with the God branch of Transformations, if Daima does take place after Super, is actually pretty simple. All of the characters are being reverted to children, and a childs body will have nowhere near the same level of strength as an adults, even a Saiyan. All they have to do is explain that because they are children their bodies are not properly matured/strong enough to handle the power of the God transformations and techniques, even if they do still know how to use the powers they wouldnt be able to muster the energy to do so, simply because they arent strong enough to. We might not even see any Super Saiyan transformations right away, based on what little we have seen of Daima, Goku is certainly returning to his roots from the original Dragon Ball, relying on martial arts and his Nyoibo, which honestly seeing him wield a staff is always amusing. One of my favorite parts of GT was when Goku went to hell during the Super 17 arc and proceeded to absolutely style on Freeza and Cell with a staff and flying around on an Destructo Disk like it was Kintoun

I really hope there are no transformations at all. I don’t like that they have to rely on multiple transformations to even stand a chance against their opponents. Daima is the perfect chance to just keep Goku in his base form.

The showing of the “Golden Ape” is misleading, because we are shown a star behind them giving off an orange and yellowish light which the great ape is bathing in, with the shadows made in front of it and while it might be a golden oozaru i just think its just the coloring placed on the silhouette from the sun behind it

Goku being wished back into a child undo's his operation to permanently remove his tail. So I hope Primal Saiyan (SSJ4) is what happens next. Btw I really hope they give it the proper name it deserves (Primal Saiyan) because it's not a SSJ form it should not be SSJ4.

Broly and maybe Gohan are the only candidates for SSJ4, their power is already rooted in primal instinct, especially Broly, the rest of the Saiyans have started down god ki paths or no path at all I would love to see Broly get it, it feels the most fitting

I doubt Daima is after Super because 1. there would have to be a massive narrative severing from the Super cast, and 2. Pan was born during Super and is four by End of Z, giving a disgustingly short timeframe between an established end point and an ongoing manga series. Which is good for sanity but rough for Daima because they won't have any flashy new transformations to drive PR like Dragon Ball has been doing, at least none that have any staying power in the franchise's run since Battle of Gods goes from SSJ3 to SSG. The only way to get around that is to make it happen after End of Z, but that still gets caught in the traps of having to address where Uub is and again, cutting off from Super's plot.

It.. it's way more simple than that. Golden Oozaru is just... a Saiyan who has achieved Super Saiyan transforming into an Oozaru. SSJ4 is the result of maintaining full control while a Golden Oozaru. Nothing to do with love or anything else.

Me and Friends have generally talked every now and then, that Dragonball GT and Super just are Alternate Realities, and what if Daima is just like that? i mean we saw no God related stuff beyond the Supreme kais, which could mean that they don't exist in this canon. For a comparison, think of it like the Zelda Timeline, just instead of a Split through actions , we make all three Timelines What ifs.

DBZ introduced SSJ, SSJ2, and SSJ3, Dragonball GT(an alternate timeline) introduced SSJ4, and DB Super introduced SSG, SSG Blue, LSSJ, UI, Ultra Ego, and Beast Gohan. It should be in that order. If DB Super's transformations are canon, why can't SSJ4 be?

Since it doesn't seem to be common knowledge in the fandom, I want to clarify Majin Bird, that Supreme Kai and Kibito's Potara earrings were originally Green from the start in the colored manga, when Kibito had blue skin, and Shin had darker purple skin. Unaware of the significance of the color and it makes a Kai a Supreme Kai. (Like how Zamasu used Gowasu's green potara to access the Time Rings) The Z anime and subsequent media incorrectly changed the color of Potara earrings to yellow, it's possible that they are correcting this mistake in Daima, and will act like Shin & Kibito's Potara earrings have always been green, or they may address it in universe somehow.

im wondering if this man has watched past the buu saga, in super its not stated but shown and half explained by zamasu and gowasu that yellow is basically training kai and green is a full fledged kai, universe 7 supreme kai's were all killed by buu, and elder kai was sealed by beerus, meaning our current supreme kai probably was never able to finish or start his kai training to become a full kai, which is why he was so weak compared to the kai of the past, in diama if it is set after super, he may have just finished his training.

I don’t think SSJ4 will be part of Daima. The form itself is fine but I do find it a little overrated in the community. I do find it pointless to add because of your point about how it plays with the God forms. Maybe it can be combined with God Ki to make the form even better. Possibly SSJG so it can get that iconic red hair it had as a fusion except it’s SSJ4 combined with SSJG. But then again that ps strange with ultra instinct being a thing and how Goku can combine SSJG with UI GT is my least favorite series for dragon ball but I still like it overall. It gets boring at times and I don’t like multiple plot points.

Ask 4 should remain non canon along side where it was born, GT. If the form returns it would honestly need to be weaker than super sayan god in my opinion, but that is just an opinion. And I’m not a fan of how ssj 4 was easier to hold compared to ssj 3. I also have that same opinion about ssj god. The fact that those forms are stronger than 3 should mean that they require more to maintain than ssj 3 and yes I was a little disappointed in the lack of ssj 3’s use throughout the anime. The franchise already rewrote broly’s story for the new movie so I would not put it past them to do this with 4. But I will say the new broly is way better than the old.

I was disappointed because i wanted to see where Goku and the z fighters go after super. I was hoping to finally get a continuation after all these years of waiting. However as long as this story is good i can maybe be satisfied (don't really have much faith in toei though)

My main problem isn’t even him turning back into a kid again, it’s his dub voice actor and his loss of chubiness. His skinny appearance just feels off in comparison to what he used to look like in the OG dragonball. Not too big of a deal but makes me a lil disappointed. Cause when he was young he was litterally the strongest person alive on earth, but still had a chubby anime body. Just a cute design I miss. And then the VA for dubbing, I really loved Steph’s voice. I pray she can come back but high chance she won’t be.

As a fan of GT I don't like the recycled use of a concept taken from the show but whatever. I think that if they will introduce SSJ4 it will have a new design, who would look more like an ancient Monkey person rather than this cool design. However there is something I want to correct you on- You said GT is a continuation of the anime, it is a continuation of the movies timeline therefore it is canon only for the movies timeline (for people who gives a F about canon. I know I don't. Nothing wrong from enjoying a filler episode/movie/show).
