You must understand. Us christians play this the very moment we wake up, to the moment we go to sleep. It is our anthem, to keep us in constant reminder that spirits and principles of darkness are in the world and have a grip and it is our job as man of god or christian, to fight that with prayor, with the word, with the lords herbs, and much much more. It is not a chant for war, unless its one against evil or persecution. In the name of the father ,the son, and the spirit, amen.
This is not a military march, this is the 135th Psalm, from The Book of Psalms in the Old Testament, and although written by King David of Israel, is not a military march. It is a psalm, which also works as a prayer, that was adapted to byzantine music. this is a greek version of the song, there are more variants of this Psalm in a lot more languages (as for songs).
Psalam 135 has nothning with military chant to do i know bcs im serbian ortodox. This is just greek version of it. Maybe you just feel it that way bcs our greek bros have strong voices . 😊
this isn't military. it's a praise for the lord. tells us to spread the gospel. translation (from the romanian orthodox bible) - Praise the Lord, because the Lord is good. Haliluia. And that His mercy is eternal. Praise the Lord God, God of Gods. Haliluia. And that His mercy is eternal. and goes on. you got my point
@@JordanUchia From the linked video's details: "*The Psalm itslef obviously isn't about war*, but the performance, especially thanks to the war-like drums, give it a very _military vibe_, hence why the title of the video" If just people learnt to think and read
Seriously thinking about converfing from Pratostant to Orthodoxy. The Orthodox church represents intolerance, yes INTOLERANCE, the refusal to accept the sinful things the world accepts and to follow the teachings of The ONE TRUE GOD LORD YESHUA (praises be to his Holy Name). Orthodoxy is strength, courage, aggressive loyalty and determination. Forever shall KING JESUS (praises be to his Holy and Mighty Name) REIGN!!!! YESHUA AKBAR ☦️❤️💪🏾
While i am catholic, i recommend you to do so, protestantism has many flaws especially with it's church history so if you can convert to orthodoxy do so
@@TheOriginalStarwalker83 did you really just say protestantism has bad church history when you're a catholic. Im not trying to be mean but that's ignorant
@@Felisauras1014 yes i am, and i understand that the catholic church might have not had the best past with greed for example, and i have worded myself incorrectly what i meant by that is that protestantism has its roots in germany in 1517, quite a long time after the times of Christ, it lacks apostolic succesion and proper church fathers, its also filled with heresies like iconoclasm, denying the spiritual work that can be done by the saints and of course the faith alone aspect, i do not mean any hate but i do not necessarilly recommend it either, and also to be completely honest i've been thinking sometimes of also converting to orthodox which is why i need to do some more research on it
I just read the psalm and it speaks of THE LORD going to war for Israel and destroying the enemies of the faithful. Delivering the people of God into the promised land. It's literally a warchant if anything. Stop lying. The psalm literally talks about slain kings and great wonders (meaning plagues) falling on the enemies of God. It's definitely a military song.
What do you mean, God lives and always is. Don't say that as if He will someday have an end and his life will have been long. Be careful what you say and be of few words.
You must love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. You must love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus the Anointed is Lord! Repent and be baptized and believe the Evangelism.
It is in itself a pseudo-military Psalm because it involves the power of God over the evil kings and emperors of the Judea, Pharaoh and their armies and the victory of Jews over them.@@davidblbulyan3077
As a soldier, every time i perform my duty and i have Psalm 135 in my head, i feel strong to complete every impossible task. Only another soldier can understand this.
It is not, the poster read it from another video and didn't bother to check the description of said material, which clearly states that it is NOT a military chant, but it may sound like one for the style and pacing. If you check the lyrics you'll see it talks about God's mercy
Because Psalm 135 is about GOD waging war against his enemies, slaying the kings of egypt and destroying the enemies of Israel. THE LORD is victorious over his enemies and the people of GOD praise him singing halleluYAH! I pray the same for our time. May God vanquish his enemies and drive the darkness from off the land. May God deliver us all, halleluYAH!
Go read psalms 135 and you wil see that, YES, this is indeed a military chant. I dont know why so many mainstream so called christains dismiss all the wars in the bible and the fact that the messiah did not come to bring peace. Such an interesting little bunch christains have become.
I dont know if it is about war or not, one day when you get a love for someone so big that you feel like doing anything for it even if it means war (wich is not correct) maybe you will understand. And yes the messiah did not come to bring peace but to teach to love one another and a way of life that would please the lord
@@alexandrefilipe6213 Love and Hate are the same coin. As much as you love is as much as you'll hate. If you love something, but don't hate what threatens it, then you never loved at all. Matthew 10:34-39. Matthew 7:21-23. Revelations 2:6.

No bro the Psalms were written to be sang in the temple, not on the battlefield. But you're right that Christianity isn't a religion of pacifism. Pacifism is a childish ideology that has been injected into some sections of the church by external liberal powers.
