Improve your game!
This channel is dedicated to all the gold seeking Pickleballers out there who dink responsibly and stay out of the kitchen. We have all levels come through the channel, but we concentrate on the 4.0, 4.5 and up to 5.5 with the pros.
I started this channel quite by accident, I was recording my games to do film study and get better. I did not have time or money for lessons from pro pickleball coach, so I started watching all my screwups. People that I was playing with started to ask if they could watch too and I said sure. That helped all of us a lot to improve our game, strategy, mental toughness, and techniques. Now we have new pickleball videos published several times a week. We occasionally have pro pickleball players on the channel. Mostly its non pro pickleball players on their quest to 5.0 pickleball. We have all levels come through the channel, but we concentrate on the 4.0 pickleball, 4.5 pickleball and up to 5.5 pickleball with the pros.

I switched to the crbn1x 16 to keep up in hands battles with all these high level tennis guys and power air users. It definitely helps!

Looking back after its release, the review you've conducted here is bang on! CRBN's website says exactly what you said: CRBN1 and 2 are control paddles which are perfect for defensive tactics and for players who can generate their own power. The CRBN 1X, 2X, and newly released 3X are power paddles which sacrifice the soft feel for resets, touch shots, third-shot drops, etc. It doesn't mean you can't hit those, but you need to be a much better player to get the same effects. I personally see too many 3.0-4.0 players going for power and spin paddles as if they will make them a 5.0 overnight. The reality is that the majority of the doubles game is played at the net where dinks, resets, and other control-type shots are the key to winning points. Given the problem that the CRBN 1X/2X/3X and other thermoformed GEN2 RCF paddles have had with lose edge guards and delamination, I have chosen to stay with the original workhorse: CRBN 1. Greatest paddle ever and it lasts a long time.

Ive been playing the Legacy Pro for 4 months and recently switched to the CRBN1X. The Legacy has all the pop you can handle and then some but that comes at the cost of control. Resetting hard drives and blocking speed ups are a challenge. The biggest problem for me with the LP is it's so stiff that it started giving me elbow pain and i don't have elbow problems. The CRBN 1X is exactly what I wanted it to be, it's softer than the LP, easier to control with just the right amount of power and spin.

T700 Toray, foam injected edges, theraforming. How’s it different from a Vatic Pro, and is it worth the premium price compared to Vatic?

I'm interested in the CRBN 2x , 16mm paddle. Why because of spin factor and a little extra power doesn't hurt. I did here though that this CRBN 2x is a stiffer paddle. I want more power because I'm a 62 year old woman that has a paddle that is more a control paddle and I just can't seem to get the power to put a ball away. Do you think the 2x 16mm would be a good fit for me?

Thanks for the review Keith. How would you compare the CRBN.x power series to the Legacy Pro in terms of performance characteristics?

I haven't played legacy pro yet they are out of stock and ill have one soon.

Legacy feels plush/pillowy soft, crbn is stiff. That said, somehow legacy has ridiculous pop and power.

I bought a CRBN 1 from a ‘friend’ and when I tried it out it did don’t have tape on the frame and I liked it. Once I bought it from him he put tape around the frame and now the ball pops straight up in the air unexpectedly How can I prevent this from happening? Is it the tape?
@ThePickleballPirates
@ThePickleballPirates 2 месяца назад
If it is weighted tape, then definitely yes. You probably can just remove it and see.

Crbn 2 original followed by crbn 1 if you like carbon. Diadem is also a great option with their Warrior edge. All have a very muted feel to them. Very large sweet spots.

Great review, Keith! I've heard that the Six Zero Double Black Diamond plays very similar to the 1x - was that your experience? Thanks

Pickleball Studio stated the CRBNX1Power had a larger sweet spot due to foam insertion. If it actually has smaller sweet spot I don’t know why anyone would want it. The original CRBN sweet spot is notoriously small in my opinion.
@ThePickleballPirates
@ThePickleballPirates Год назад
For a power paddle it has a HUGE sweet spot but the ball doesn't stay on the paddle as long but the difference is small, just giving my opinion as it's hard to truly know how big the sweet spot is except by feel and your miss hits. The paddle is also stiffer so there is less give on it. But i was wrong on weight the CRBNx is less than 8.0oz. But the difference in spin and power is way better. But compared to some other elongated handle paddles like SLK Halo the CRBN had a great sized sweet spot.

It feels nothing like a Selkirk at all and you can’t even say feels like a Selkirk. I own the 003 and Slk omega max and have played extensively with the power air and each one of those feel radically different

not for everyone, as any paddle

Definitely in the stiffer side but their originals are very much more muted and less shock on the arm but notably less power.
