Because for some reason they use tram trains

@@Elevators_around_Europa Parts of the track used to be for the "Stadtbahn", basically what is now the S-Bahn, except they used tram trains. So the U6 continued to use the existing infrastructure, including the depot that isn't directly adjacent to the Line and therefore requires the trains to drive on the tram tracks for a bit.

Didn't get to see it, they started operation just after my visit 🙃

I've seen it a few times it goes along the U3 line. I like it.

@@maxl_123 Wahrscheinlich war an dem Zeitpunkt, an dem das gefilmt wurde, nur ein eingleisiger Betrieb an dieser Station möglich

Warscheinlich war der Display bei der U-Bahn Zug gefroren.

Ich denke Weil die U4 schon in der Nähe beim Endstation ist und der Fahrer nocheinmal zurück bis Hütteldorf fahren

Line U5 is currently being built. 4 existing stations Karlsplatz, Museum Quartier, Stephansplatz and Rathaus currently on U2 will become U5 and this line will be extended north-west building new tracks towards Hernals. This work is expected to be completed by 2030.
