a good belgian stew prepared with trapist beer and fries with mayonnaise is one of my favorite dishes. I also like to eat mussels. and Brussels sprouts with bacon is also at the top of my favorites list
Sole Meunière, sole in a butter-parsley-lemon sauce. Every fisherman knows it all too well: A sole has to swim 3 times: in the sea, in the butter and in the stomach.
all tourist traps. sorry. Fries baked in baskets? that is for MCD. you need to go out of the tourist centers to get real belgian food. This is so in every country
Liège waffles can be found prepacked in any Belgian supermarket. These can be eaten cold or heated. The go-to brand would be Suzy Waffles by Lotus. The original independent Suzy factory was probably the only one in the world with a music studio at the back.
Eating a mitraillette is relatively easy: you first eat away some of the chips until you can eat the bun (or you put some of those fries aside and then eat the bun and fries simultaneously).
What a fun day, waffles, chocolate, chippies, a cold beer and a show. Good to see you’re eating healthy, at least the waffle had fruit on it. It all looked really yummy, the chips could’ve done with a bit of chicken salt and tomato sauce but they looked and sounded fresh and crispy. Stay safe, miss you both, love you.xx mum 🧇
I’m from Brussels. And Fritland is very good. Chez Antoine at Place Jourdan is nice but overrated. Also not worth the travel if you’re a tourist. There’s nothing around Place Jourdan unless you want to visit the European Parliament.
I think you guys are a cute match. I was looking for some inspiration, as I'll be visiting Brussels with my Partner, for a day soon...That sandwich with the fries looks so amazing, can't wait to try it. THUMBS UP!
We've also found the simpler the better when it comes to thing like this. Unfortunately we had this realisation in the Netherlands after we already left Belgium 😞
A quick heads up from a Belgian here: All waffles are dessert. It's fries first, then waffles. How one eats a mitraillette without making a mess has always been an open question. Buying chocolate anywhere in the Brussels city centre is way too expensive. Beginner's guide on buying Belgian beer: go for Trappists or Belgian Family Brewers labels. Stella and Jupiler is watered down water. The K-pop thing is global and not something we all agree with.
The beer in the bottle is a triple one and a nice one (I use the app untapped to check in all the different beers that i have tasted and rate them as well). I had it myself here in the Netherlands. It's a beer that you also can find here in the supermarket. I also have eating the militairy. It was huge and alone it's difficult to eat all of it. The sauce i didn't like.
for as far as i know as a belgian only turists eat brussels waffels whit all the topings on them and i agree a luikse waffel is better and eaten by all the brussels one is eaten aswell but just whit powder sugar or confituur
Brussels is incredible haha we love that you can have a mitraillette and be full for most of the day! Completely agree about the people too, super nice!
I can not believe chacolate and strawberry is the most popular. Most of us just have powdered sugar on our waffles, we're not savages. Half of the fun of a Brussels waffle is the airy crispy texture. That waffle looked rather soggy...
I prefer Brussels waffles but just with powdered sugar. It a great waffle to make at home. It can only be eaten fresh baked or loses its crunchiness. Easy recipe but you do need yeast to have them be light and don’t use sugar. Put powdered sugar on top after baking.
ugh... going to an Irish Pub to taste Belgian beer in a city that is filled to the brim with Belgian beer cafes who could give you pointers and explanations about the beers they're serving... you really have to succeed in that type of logic.
@@JordanandEmily You're in Belgium. Finding Belgian Beer without a hefty price tag is not one bit of an achievement. Unless you're a tourist sticking to tourist traps.
@@JordanandEmilyI think not one tourist. Belgium people can eat them everyday and if you eat Fries you need to ask fries Whit stoofvlees saus and mayonaise
