Great job on these videos! I have watched a few now. Particularly Colombia as I will be traveling there next week. I love your format. Short, succinct, hit the spots. Cartagena was my favorite city there but it was raining most of the time so I didn’t have enough to put a video together 😖

Hello! Usually for people who visit Medellin for the first time it's best to stay in El Poblado. There are two hotels that I'd recommend; the Dann Carlton or the San Fernando hotel, both are on Carrera 43A and close to Parque Lleras and the busy part there. The rooms are about $80 a night, but they have Western amenities such as A/C, a great free breakfast, and a very professional and secure hotel. I like Laureles too. Now, I stay in Envigado in Airbnbs there. My girlfriend, who is Colombian, lives in Itagui. I started visiting Medellín in 2021 and been hooked ever since. I plan on retiring there. Great video!!

@@eileensworld Oh yes. I absolutely fell in love with Medellín the second time I visited in November of 2021. I met my girlfriend in late April 2022 and she completed me. Yeah, I know a few spots here and there... lol 😁 😉

I like your authentic attitude in your videos. so many travel video people seem to be too "fake" happy. but you are just normal, down to earth, sometimes grumpy or blah... just like real life. so much of the Colombian food seems like it doesnt include any vegetables. this is one thing that concerns me for my upcoming trip. I might have to eat more "western" foods to get my daily servings of veg. having good mattress and pillows makes a huge difference to me. I completely disagree with you about walking around in the centro and it being "sketchy". maybe because I'm a guy but none of that stuff phases me. we are planning one week in the city and a week in Guatape. I like to experience the flow of daily life in each place rather than just zipping through the way you did here.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on my video! I really enjoyed Colombian food (empanadas, rice, the meats, fried chicken beans, etc) and I agree it’s not served with a lot of vegetables. BUT to compensate, I ate a lot for the fresh (and cheap) cut fruit that was available during breakfast or from the street vendors 😇

I also enjoy the flow of daily life and get to experience that type of traveling now that I’m in Japan for 2 months. But when I only have a couple days in a new place…I definitely ZIP through!
