Chris Harm's voice is not faked. His voice is deep. They are all multi talented musicians who use costume, make up, staging to create a show. Look them up and research.

It was not „Germany“ that had to wake up but our national broadcaster. Last year they didn’t allow Electric Callboy to participate in the national selection not even after a petition that was supported by a huge number of ESC fans. Guess repeated bad results with their preselected radiofriendly music made them change their attitude… 😊

It's a dream come true to see my favourite band,my biggest passion and love in life, going to Eurovision!🩸🖤✨️Thank you so much for your lovely reaction!🫶So many of us Losties have been working so hard and sacrificed everything for winning this national final of Germany TOGETHER - and this is what makes it special: This wonderful band and their fans are ONE,united by being kindred spirits and sharing the same passion for something that is so much more to us than just "music". LORD OF THE LOST are together as a band since 2009,so they're already an experienced live band who played countless festivals and tours all over the world, and they originally emerged from the German Gothic- and Metal-scene!🖤✨️ Even the metal legends IRON MAIDEN chose LOTL to go on tour together with them, which is another proof for the thrilling quality the guys deliver - and this year they were chosen to go on tour with Iron Maiden again! Lord of the Lost's genre can't be described with words,as they have always been known for reinventing themselves on every new album - but their magical soundscapes often include Dark Rock and Dark Metal,Synth,80's vibes,Goth and a flamboyant Glam attitude! They're able to set heaviness and catchiness to music, but at times emphasize melancholy and emotive depth a lot. Singer Chris Harms is known for his outstanding vocal range that enables him to deliver both haunting clean vocals AND obliterating growls, and you would be mesmerized to see the variety in all of their songs! Beyond that,Lord of the Lost have always said that EMPATHY is their religion - this is why the guys always speak up against grievances in society and helped people in need countless times. Just recently they took a stupid hate comment from someone who wanted to spread negativity online, and printed it on a new merchandise collection - and you know what? All money they earn with this collection will be donated to an organization that works on the reforestation of the rain forest! These five guys are just the most lovely, humble and caring human beings, and they deserve ANY success in this world and all love they can get from the Eurovision fans!💕✨️ "Blood & Glitter" is an irresistibly catchy anthem of life and equality, telling us to embrace the contrasts within ourselves rather than denying who we are,and emphasizing that unity should be our purpose instead of hate and seclusion: "We are all from the same blood". Now we as the Losties will give our hearts and souls to achieve a great Eurovision result together with them, and I'm sure outstandingly creative musicians like them deserve the TOP 10 - especially because they will enhance the staging once more for Liverpool! Their music might be dark and enigmatic, but the message behind all of this is pure love - I'd absolutely recommend you to listen to other of their songs such as "Morgana", "Black Halo" and "Priest",as they usually blow away all people who delve into their back catalogue. Thank you so much again and let's enjoy Eurovision 2023 to the fullest!✨️🖤🩸

Chris is not artificially lowering his voice. LOTL have quite a wide range of styles they use. Everything from metal, electronica, pop covers to using a symphony of classical instruments and a choir. But that is 100 % his voice.

Reading the comments, wondering for the "I don't know how many anymore" time why people can't express their dislike for something in a respectful way...humankind, keep going strong towards your own end. And, still, thanks to those who are able to express their joy/liking for what is given to them or at least express their opinions with empathy in mind. As if we didn't all suffer from enough difficulties in life, instead of communicating and supporting each other, some of us try to drag each other down. About "Lord of the Lost": I am very happy to support a band composed of artists nurturing love within themselves and between them and their fans. To all the people who judge them as artists and human beings based on one single song: let's hope that you don't judge the people you meet everyday based on 0 knowledge about who they are, otherwise it means that you live in a world of lies and projections where the only thing that matters is your very subjective truth.

This band has been at the top of their game for over 10 years. They are all talented instrumentalists, & have put out 8 studio albums & 3 classical crossover albums. The singer, Chris Harms, is a classical cellist. He openly admits he's more of a musician than a singer but he's a very talented singer tbh with an excellent technique. His voice is naturally that deep. They're all really decent people & want their music to foster closeness between different sectors of society. For example they're very pro-LGBTQ+. They love trolling their haters, releasing a song called Leave your Hate in the Comments from the latest album Blood & Glitter (this is the title track, not written for Eurovision). The Leave your Hate video features on the screen real insults that have been thrown at them. They even took one comment (You're super super super gay ninjas) & put it on a t shirt in their merch store, giving the profits to charity. They really don't care what people think but go their own way. They are chameleon-like with every album being different to the previous, covering gothic metal, industrial, anything they feel like doing. Some of their sings sound more poppy, others a lot heavier than this. Some people tried to insult them for their last album, saying it sounded like Eurovision music. The insult backfired as the band thanked them, saying that was a compliment. They're Eurovision fans & have tried to enter before but the broadcaster wouldn't let metal music take part. Do you remember Electric Callboy last year? As it turned out, Chris Harms ended up being involved in a way with the German national final last year. He's a music producer as well & one of the records he produced was in the national final. The guy had a cello on it but the cellist backed out late on so he asked Harms if he knew a cellist. Harms offered himself, but kept to the background because he was simply doing it as a favour to help a fellow artist & didn't want to take over the act by advertising who he was, because Lord of the Lost are popular & more famous than the other artist. This is my winner this year. I love pretty much all genres of music although I struggle with rap & grime. Metal, though, is my favourite & this group are very high in my preferences. I can't get enough of them.

ok.. 1. Of course I like them! 🖤❤💛🤘We Germans are very happy that they will represent us at Eurovision. 2. They ARE really nice guys! Very down to earth, creative, funny, open minded, empathic, caring.. 3. Thanks for giving props to Gared Dirge, the keyboarder! He's a great musician with a perfect pitch and he plays a lot of instruments. He absolutely deserves the extra props. 4. Regarding the accent... The singer is from Hamburg (the band too, but not all members born there) and my Northern German ears hear a clearly Northern German/Hamburg accent. I already wondered if it's just me.. and how his acccent might sound to native English speakers. 5. The genre... they consider themselves as genre-fluid... They also work a lot with other musicians of various genres. Also with an orchestra, a choir for seniors aged 70+ etc. The song was not written for the ESC, but they already tried last year and were not allowed to participate in the national selection, because the song was not radio-friendly enough. So maybe they had that a little bit in the back of their minds. Most of their songs are a bit harder and darker. But the singer plays also cello for example... They just like to experiment.

Thanks for showing me Repo - The genetic opera, never heard of it, and ordered the bluray right after a short hearing on youtube. For your question, if they usually dress like this, the answer ist NO. There is no "usually" with Lord Of The Lost. They are so versatile in music and visual style. To get a (very small) impression, just skip through their videos (or better watch them complete) to the songs "Loreley", "For They Know Not What They Do", "Drag Me To Hell", "The Heartbeat Of The Devil", "Black Halo" and "Raining Stars". Or go for some of their symphonic stuff like "Lighthouse", "The Broken Ones" or "One Ton Heart". It is truly worth the watch, and the musical experience is pretty decent too. 😉🖤🖤 [edit] Did you mean "Hedwig and the angry inch", when you were mentioning Hedwig? @@esme6346Hello Esme. Yes I remember Richard O'Brien. (He also hosted 'The Crystal maze') Richard was being VERY 'arch' and in character, so his performances were deliberately stylised. That was completely appropriate for his output. - One could argue that our Chris is tapping into the glamrock vocal idiom. For example Bryan Ferry's vocals in that era verge on parody. - When I mentioned Harms vocal it was only really to point out an anomaly. Rock had an ongoing existential crisis between authenticity and camp high dudgeon. (Perfect example was Born to run being countered by Bat out of hell) One could argue that Harms and the boys are attempting to straddle both, but it comes across (to me) as rock pantomime. However, much of Eurovision is a version of panto, and I suspect the song will actually get votes from the UK. (If I'm honest I'd prefer Blood and glitter to win than the tiresome 'Tattoo') 👍

Aren't most songs at Eurovision quite repetitive because you have to submit pretty short entries (3 minutes)? Of course you have to emphasize the chorus if you want to offer the world something catchy. In only 3 minutes there's not much space for major changes and variation. And with the pretty balladic, piano-driven parts before each chorus, LOTL actually offer some very noticeable diversity!🫶

Nothing about it is cliché, it's just the most authentic band full of lovely and genuine human beings living their dream and presenting what they love. If it's so bad, why do the legends of Iron Maiden choose Lord of the Lost to support them repeatedly on their huge stadium tour? You can spread negativity again after you achieved the same success which Lord of the Lost obviously have. Play in front of packed arenas, release number 1 albums, then you can spread negativity. Until then, ask yourself how constructive criticism would sound like. Not everyone has to like the same music, but everyone should show respect and decency when talking about hard-working artists. @@elisaa9981 As a more eloquent defense of the song; Yes, it's a very Eurovision metal(lish) song. I get that a feelgood pop-ish rainbow-friendly peace and love -kind of metal song can feel ridiculous and jarring to some, but to me that's exactly what makes this stand out and what's good about it. It's not what metal usually is, but... why not? Metal can be this too, and I give full credits to LotL for going all in on this visually and just committing to an earnest, unironic delivery of a somewhat rare type of metal song. (Not unique, but rare.) To me however, it's very genre appropriate for a goth metal band to go this way. Goth metal is an inherently campy genre, often quite silly, but also often very earnestly romantic and emotional, and along with industrial, one of the more visual of the metal genres. Goth culture is also one of the more rainbow-friendly subcultures. To me, that makes it a genre that was already a natural fit for Eurovision, and so for me, LotL taking a couple of extra steps towards full ESC madness with this song is just a very logical development. They're just doing things goth metal was already doing, owning and celebrating things they already were.
