As a Finn, I don't fully agree with this "top 10" list. Top 5 was pretty good but I was expecting to see places 6-10 consist of Amorphis, Wintersun, Battle Beast, Beast in Black, Sentenced, Charon, The 69 Eyes, HIM, Suburban Tribe, To/Die/For, or Poets Of Fall. And I think Hevisaurus deserves a mention of its own; it's a metal band for children. After checking out those other metal bands from Finland, maybe check Hevisaurus song called "100" which has official video on RU-vid (which only has English subtitles if you click the CC button)? It's the 100th song by Hevisaurus and has a lot of guest appearances from other Finnish bands.

Nightwish is my favourite! Great band! They have had multiple different lead singer. The song Nemo from them is great, the live video from End of an Era. Nightwish is one of the biggest and most famous metal bands in Finland.

Nightwish, definitely, and I'm going to buck the trend and say go with "Romanticide" from Wacken 2013 first. It's a harder sound and it gives all of the band members space to shine.

Hi Fabian J! Finland is the promised land of metal bands, and we certainly have plenty of them. I've made a video about the band Nightwish, detailing how it all started and following in the footsteps of the original members in their hometown. The video was a spur-of-the-moment creation without much planning. There's also another video about a church that is, in a way, related to Nightwish, although I didn't realize the connection at the time. I have fond memories from those early years... 😉

Those are genres of metal underneath the band name. Just add metal after the word, then it looks right. The Korpiklaani song name was "Happy little boozer" and I highly recommend to react any of theit songs. Some are in english and some in Finnish

I think every band there deserves their place somewhere around there, but there are a few names missing that I would personally put higher than some of the entries at the bottom end. The top 3 is pretty much solid as stone. I personally think Mokoma and Wintersun should def. be in the list above Finntroll and Ensiferum, but that is just a personal take. Nightwish is the most succesful finnish metal band globally. Impossible to say which band is the best, since we have sooo many technically very talented musicians and so many bands. Depends on the genres you like, or the vibe.
