I'm a Native french speaker and french is in my opinion such a easy language the grammar and pronunciation is hard even for me, but don't give up guys hundreds of millions of people speak french. Amuse-toi bien et bonne chance.
I love learning French but it is so hard to speak for me. Sometimes I am watching Miraculous ladybug and listen some French singers such as Barbara Pravi, Indila etc. I hope I can speak French fluently
Some fun ideas to further practice your French: 1- Playing games in French. Honestly this can be any game you like, but I’ve been playing Brain Test and Criminal Case in French when I’m bored; they particularly help you with your vocabulary. 2- Using double subtitles. There are chrome extensions that help you to put two subtitles in different languages; I find them particularly helpful especially if you are a beginner watching French movies/tv shows. 3- French webtoons. This one weirdly did not occur to me until I saw it in a video, but especially if you want to get more familiarized with daily phrases and more cultural aspects of French this might be a fun way to consider. 4- Turn your phone French 5- Journal in french; write short stories maybe 6- Use AI for help. For example, I have no one around me I can practice my french speaking skills with. If you are in the same situation, you don’t want to meet strangers online, or if you are a bit shy to talk to people in french yet, you can ask Google Assistant or Siri some questions in French to get some momentum for now. 7- Record yourself talking in French. It is a good practice to talk out loud; you can even talk about something simple like how your day went. Again, a good way to get some momentum if you don’t feel ready to talk to people in French. 8- Reread your favorite book or watch your favorite tv show/movie in french. If you’re already interested in the story, it makes it more fun to learn a language. That’s all I have for now I think. Lovely video!
The games one is a big one. For anyone who wants one. Broken Sword is a series of games where you can change the language to French and a few of these games are set within France too. It’s point and click detective game which allows you to take your time to read and understand things in French
How do you do the extension thing for two languages!? Just today I was watching petite films on Tv5 monde plus and I exactly had this doubt in mind. Could you please explain?
@@zoe.languagesUr such a great person and ur my idol at learning languages ❤ thanks for your help, I hoppppeee that you learn more languages like arabic and Italian to expand your audience
As a native french speaker, i can tell that French is a very difficult language, even for french speakers. I hope y'all find the better way to learn it. My tip it's to "eat" french every single day by watching french videos with your native language subtitles.
@@HoonTurd Huh? You can’t learn much if you use your native language’s subtitles. Because if this was the opposite, every weeb would be fluent in Japanese by now.
Hi! As a faux-débutant at French stuck somewhere between A2 and B1 for a long time, I've felt really frustrated that I'm not making any progress. But your videos really inspired me to refocus and create an interesting and effective language learning path! I'm really grateful for your work and I'm looking forward to the next videos!
Really interesting video. I studied up A2-B1 for about 1.5 years and felt pretty confident. Then I went to France and honestly couldn’t understand a single thing anyone said to me. I was so demoralised that I gave up! But now there are so many more resources and I am really focusing on listening partially Netflix with French subtitles. I still can’t believe how fast they speak but hopefully I’ll get there. I’ll use the other resources you mentioned for my revision!
This is such an EXCELLENT video. So detailed, so informative. She is so much better than the majority of other language learning channels on RU-vid because she has actually done the work, rather than giving opinions on topics or apps they have never actually used beyond a VERY basic level.
Zoe, could you make this kind of video about Arabic? It's quite hard, at least, different language, i think, so it'd be interesting to see how did you learn it!
girl i’m an arab and i really do not recommend u studying this language as it’s so darn hard even for me, the grammar and the prononciation is so hard it litteraly keeps going, i have a arabic class at school and it’s seriously hell
@@me-vd7rm i am arab too and honey you just didn't learn to love it, or maybe you didn't have good or nice teachers but the language is amazing and its so different from other languages no matter how many i learn i still think arabic holds a special place in my heart so i think its your personal experience rather then the language itself
I love her advice. It is so well informed and so well organised! Hats off! I can't imagine the amount of work she has done to put this video together. While being so methodical and calm. I loved all her resources! Unfortunately, Bussuu did not work for me. I am still sticking with Duolingo and Language Transfer. But i am pretty sure that is just me. I am EXTREMELY grateful for folks such as you egg have have learning in general so much more accessible! Thank you!!!!
Thank you for the resources. Years ago I progressed to B1 but I haven't practiced French in years. At least now I know what resources to use to get back on track with French.
I am so glad to have found your channel. I’m from Turkey. I’m starting B1 in Russian and have been dreaming of speaking French for years. Thanks to your recommendations, I feel very motivated to start learning. Also my brother is in love with the Chinese language and tradition, he’s learning Mandarin and he loves your channel as well😇❤️
French is also a language I’ve been trying to learn by myself! I found TV5 Monde and got confused. Didn’t know where to start! I really felt like the lessons there are all around the place. And you’ve just confirmed it. I’ll try and start with the other website you recommended. 😄
I'm a junior in high-school currently and will be going to a collage in France. Though I still have many years until I book my flight, I am incredibly excited and want to start preparing now. I took Korean lessons for 2 years and I enjoyed it. The pronunciation rolled off my tongue really well, and made it satisfying to speak. It even made me think, "Well maybe language learning isn't that hard!" However I was mistaken... Though I have only just begun learning French, the pronunciation does not come easy to me at all like Korean did. The letters aren't nearly as bad though thankfully. Kind of struggling right now, wish me luck!
Super inspirational! I've always wanted to have a conversational level of knowledge of the top languages in the world and was really impressed by your grasp of multiple languages. I studied abroad in Cairo ten years ago, where I studied colloquial Arabic but have not kept on with it. Now I'm learning french and your detailed breakdowns and study ethic really help to demystify the process of how to move from curious/beginner to gaining different levels of fluency. Thank you for sharing!
Hi, I'm profoundly grateful with your video which is so detailed. I have learned French for 3 months and this video is really really useful for me. Thank you! You are such an inspiration.
I really don’t know how to thank you for this great video its really help a lot and I will pay attention for every word you said. I study French and English language as a major at university and this was very helpful thank you a lot!❤️
Thanks a lot for ur videos. I have too poor english skills, there is not a lot good guides or lesson, i started search English RU-vid and found this brilliant. I have bad English skills but a understood 95% of video❤
Learning French is my special goal to 2024! I was uncertain of where to begin and a guide to make my dream come true was given to me after this video. I can study with greater confidence now. I can do it!
I stumbled onto your video and I was encouraged so much by your methodical approach in learning French and other languages. I've been learning French on and off since 2008 and I actually lived in Paris for almost 3 years. As a busy pastor, I don't have a chance to speak French to the congregation but since I am now in Québec, I am determined to be a French speaker. I am an engineer by training and I've worked as an aerospace engineer for over 10 years. You have reminded me there is a way to build up French similar to how one can build an aircraft engine. Have you tried Pimsleur? I've found it very useful. Except for learning grammar which I have to do apart from it, Pimsleur lets me improve and correct your pronunciation, builds up my vocabulary and listening skills. I will try all the free resources that you have recommended. Thanks again! Finally, I've found someone who can really help me to learn French systematically. More importantly, you inspire me to get excited again in learning French. In 2 years, I will visit France again and I want to be able to speak French without my wife helping me.
My parents languages are similar to french and my whole family exept me and my siblings speak french and i want to learn! my parents use it as a secret language so I want to be able to eavesdrop. Au Revoir!
Hi Zoe! I’ve been following your channel for a while and I love your videos! I just started learning Arabic, and I’ve been using the resources from the description box of some of your videos in Arabic. I was wondering if you could make a full video telling us how you started learning Arabic and how you study it. It would be super helpful. Thanks!!
Hello, I'm a native Arabic speaker. I just wanna say, Arabic May be a bit hard but don't give up on it so easily, I'm sure once you understand how things go you'll get the hang of it! Also, if you have any questions feel free to ask me, I'm no teacher but if I know the answer I'll tell you :D 💙
Thank you very much. This video is so much valuable for school student. I am school student in SL now i am doing AL .so my 3rd language is french so i want to development my french knowledge. So thank you very much.❤
I used to be able to speak French when I was 13. I was so motivated and even convinced my parents to sign me up to a language school. The teacher who was coming to my home was so boring, honestly that forever discouraged me from learning. And I coudn’t break the contract we signed or change the tutor! The classes were so boring and only based on a coursebook. I hope to relearn it in the next 5 years. It’s a really beautiful language.
Could you please make a detailed video on Turkish ? You have never made a one . I just love your tips . It would be a cherry on top for Turkish learners ✨
I take your suggestion of not losing in navigations and focusing on useful resources per individual needs. This can be applied in all languages learning. Thank you so much Zoe.
Thank you very much for sharing. I visited south Belgium last week and I was fascinated with the culture, the people and with this fascinating French language. I'm starting today to learn.
Zoe, your video is such a blast! Thank you, truely! We have some much resources, especially for widely popular languages like french, and the irony that I personally just drown in analysis-paralysis from options. Somethime you just really want someone to give you a list and order to do it, despotic way) Thank you, you've given tools to organise myself a bit
I'm a French native speaker, learning English and Italian at school for a couple of years now and I've always been grateful not to have to learn French because among European languages I find it the most difficult. Good luck, bonne chance, to all of French learners.
I live now in Germany and study German and English. and I want to learn French in the future. But I'm watching this video because I think it's not such a bad idea to start learning basic French 😄
Bonne initiative 👍
Damn, I'm native russian and I have learned english to the level when i watch almost everything in english and probably could speak fluently (i talk to myself ō_õ) and now I want to learn french. Well, I'm waiting to do that for 1-2 years, but I just cant make myself start, hope this helps...
Hi Zoe, your videos are wonderful and I love the resources that you provide for learning French. It is not an easy language and it isn't helping me immensely. I understand you aren't learning Korean, but I was wondering if you heard of good Korean resources to for beginnings that want to reach A1-B1 level?
Absolutely love your videos, Zoe!! 🥰 So inspiring and informational. Quick question! In your learning German resources video you mentioned enjoying Lingoda, would you recommend Lingoda for French as well? :) I find some kind of classroom setting to be beneficial for me when studying a language. Curious to hear your thoughts!❤
Merci beaucoup Zoe. I have been taking course of French for A1 level but still I was very confused that how to improve my speaking but now through your resources I'll go.
Hey zoe, great video as always, I actually started learning french on January 1st and im using the assimil book which i really love (im using the italian base, which is my native language). Since ive also learned german last year (always using the assimil book, both the b2 and c1 versions) im doing the flash cards on assimil in german, so that i also keep practicing it. Next one is gonna be turkish, as soon as the italian version of the assimil course comes out (which i was told its gknna come out this year)
@@swxldblob6285 and how is your progress by now? I don't know how to use it, I'm now stuck at 2nd lesson repeating the lessons for the past 4 days. I tried to watch bunch of videos about how to use this method, but they all seem like a common sense and doesn't make any sense...i feel stuck right now. Can you advise anything on this matter?🙂
Could you do a similar video for Arabic? I know you already have a couple of videos about your Arabic language learning journey but maybe you know some extra resources? Also always so confused if learning first MSA and then a Dialect or both at the same time is better in order to achieve faster the feeling of being able to talk to others. Thank you so much for sharing your content!
Salut Zoe !
Hey Zoe, I absolutely love your videos! Your content has been incredibly helpful in my language learning journey, and I'm really grateful for all the hard work you put in. I recently bought the "Les 500 Exercices de Phonétique" book that you recommended, but I don't have a CD player to access the audio files. Do you happen to know if there's another way to access the audio, like a website or something? Thanks in advance
I'm a french native, electronics and computer nerds , at 8:47, the Website "Le français facile" is not vintage, it may look vintage to 202x people, but it's just that it's designed like the HTML standard site around 1990/2000. No fancy and funky things which are common nowaydays. 🙂 I'vz discovered your video today and like them, good job!
i really like this video, i am currently on A2 level and i am doing self-study. this video contains so many tips.i need to save it and rewatch it again.
I'm for sure not learning France but I would like say that your content for beginners in this language really awesome particularly with these different very useful things about which you're telling in this video that's just the best video for those who wanna start learning France so yeah your content as always the best for all people who learning various languages
