There’s a vantage point by the railway station that gives a panoramic view of the city you walked passed it on your left hand side heading to the city centre You get the whole castle and cathedral view above the city rooftops Look again next time your in Durham it’s beautiful
@@HeidiSK-Walks there’s a wooden seat and a space which is walled it’s on your left when you come to the station to head south when arriving at Durham from the south the vantage point is on the other side of the tracks I hope this makes sense
Walking down North Road from the station will be a sobering occasion as its not a pleasant area in the city. Bus station been demolished thank goodness. Hope new one is better. A beautiful city has been totally ruined by dreadful modern buildings. Its a huge building site with the view of our magnificent cathedral drowned by huge concrete monstrosities. The planners never seem to listen to locals about our ideas. The cathedral and Palace Green are a haven for history. It's getting up there through building sites and closed down shops that are the problem😩
