A Chara. As always I’d love to hear your thoughts on this video. Can you imagine being lucky enough to find a place in a treatment centre, get yourself off substances and then have to return to hostels where you’re in locked 🔒 room where people are using and dealing substances? She said she was the black sheep of the family. I know that feeling. We see the world with different eyes and family can't accept us as we are usually super sensitive and empathic and life gets very rough very fast as we feel everyone's crap and most don't know how to process those feelings that are not even yours. Hostels are far from safe, even those with rooms suffer break ins/ violence as a result of other residents. Some people are afraid to live in hostels, some cannot live in hostels as they are unable to adhere to the rules.

The problem is the vicious circle. These hostels are cesspits and filled with drugs, yet that's where they tell people to go when they get out of treatment. It's impossible for them to move forward!!

It is becoming dangerous to be vulnerable when powers are pushing euthanasia before support, whether it is a case of addiction, mental health/ learning disabilities, age related disability or terminal illness. Me and the missus said we would really let her have a room here til she got on her feet. Spaniard over here who lived in Dublin from 98 to 2008. Ireland is a fabulous country and it is heartbreaking what it is going on. Same here in Spain: lots of illegal immigrants who are raping, stealing, abusing everything and anything. Those coming from Muslim countires are the worst becuase they do not want to assimilate and have a mentality that is not suited to our culture. I do not understand how the left, who is all about women's rights and gay rights and all the rest of it, is ok with these kinds of people flooding the country illegally. And btw, I know there are good Muslims that would be respectful and kind if they had to move to our country, but those are not the ones coming in... so please do not think I am a xenophobe or a ra ist, cos I am not. You would certainly be welcome as a visitor, we also have some issues to rectify before we can consider how migrants could work. So I wouldn't say you're perpetually unwelcome in a more long term sense, particularly if you can contribute to our economy, we'd certainly prefer higher income people with good manners because then everyone wins.

God help that lady, I hope she manages to reunite with her family some day. The government should be helping Irish people before anyone else. It is ridiculous that Irish people get called racist for wanting our fellow citizens to have support, a home, to feel safe. People are being called racist for speaking out against illegal immigrants who arrive in our country with a sense of entitlement that is so huge the only other thing that matches it is the efforts of the government to give them everything they want.

I agree, governments should help their CITIZENS (especially, those who are native) before helping immigrants (especially the illegal immigrants). And, equally ridiculous, is that, here in the USA, I’ve heard some of my Irish mates (who are expats from Cork and Dublin) say that the illegal immigrants in America (coming across the US border, SHOULD be well cared for when they broke the law (when they KNOW the law…because they have family members who’ve broken the SAME law and got PROTECTION/HOUSING/FOOD/FUNDS. Sanctuary Cities and other BS like it ring a bell?). And, however one may feel about Donald Trump, he did NOT lie about A LOT of the illegals coming across the border being criminals (of the worst and most dangerous kind) long before crossing the border.

@@bogtrotterErin I've watched with laser like intensity this so called immigration issue unfold over the past two years or so and my conclusions are it's not immigration for a start. It is human trafficking of single men into communities against the wishes of those very communities and coordinated by the state. It pushes our own troubled, vulnerable and homelessness even further down the ladder with no hope of ever even getting back on that ladder. Ireland's being changed by the day with our national thorough fare resembling Bucharest or Somalia rather than our old Dublin. It absolutely breaks my heart to watch. I've tried my best to stand up against it but it appears that we are outnumbered by the middle class or as I like to call them - the naive prosperous class in the bubble. Then we have those making huge money from it. Now add to the mix the only party that could have had an impact turning their backs on us. It's an animal outcome. It gets to me so much that I would, if I could leave my homeland in the morning

That's the plan for all Europe. I am from Croatia, and it's started there their plan. Their I mean government. I came in Ireland 2016. 8 years hard working to have everything I and my family need. Recently, my landlord announced he will sell the apartment. It is very hard to find anything for living and it is very, very expensive. If I can't afford or find an apartment, I'll be forced to leave the country. The question is, if only 30% of people leave, how will the Irish government be able to pay all those fake asylum seekers.

Bless you for making these videos & shining a light on the larger issues we face, to the everyday person who is struggling ❤ I'd be the first to admit that I've had a lot of negative thoughts towards those who "use" & other additions, but when you boil it all down & get to know how their life derailed, they are not much different from you or me... Studying psychology & wanting to help people was a great insight on how lucky a lot of us are to be in well off conditions. Ireland needs to wake up & to hold those elected accountable for ignoring those who are struggling... You're an absolute legend & well done for doing what you do & give your ear / sympathies to this lovely lady! We can all do our part to look after one another with kindness, take a moment to reflect & not be quick to judge others. .. .. i am in a rented house which is fine. But i've been on the housing list since 2007. I got one offer between to traveller families. I had 3 young kids at the time . The rented house was safer so i refused that one and only offer in 14 yrs. Long story short.... ... there is no proper future for our kids in Éire right now. Shame on the "richest irish government ever" who always said "WE DONT HAVE THE MONEY".. Well ye have the money now .. and ..??. The top guys are PROVING they hate the ordinary irish person. . 🚨🔔🚨The “top guy” in practically EVERY COUNTRY is proving that he/she is of extremely poor character and lacks empathy for the “ordinary” CITIZEN. The same thing is happening in the US and the top guy (Joe Biden), who’s of Irish descent (as am I), does not mind at all. Lady belongs to ireland, ireland owes her a roof over her head, free of charge, dignaty, respect ,3 meals a day, would be so happy if the government would do this for all of irelands own homeless, its blatently obvious we have both the money and the accomadation to do this, so just do it, love , prayers and respect from a lady who was homeless for years a long time ago now, but remembers well how tough it was, now its so much more dangerous, big hugs xx

I had a very colourful life, reared 7 kids of my own, and took in many more to live with us, never had much, still don't but I created love in my home and its stayed with me all my life, I feel so blessed, I'm better than nobody and bow to nobody, love this country and its indigenous people, we have a place for other decent people but not the scum this government is bringing in, I'm in my 60s and I'll fight as hard as the next person to restore our beautiful country, love your work and kind heart, thankyou

The non Irish people they were arranging taxis and transport for to vote. Were they only voting in the local elections? They weren't voting in the European election surely ? I just can't figure out how they got such a popular vote still. Surely our own didn't just vote the same .. I'd like to think a small minority did but that big march we had a couple of weeks ago. And alot of people hungry for the change. It seemed majority was on the same page. I don't understand the outcome to be honest.

I used to work for a social housing organisation, a large percentage of properties were specifically for asylum seekers who were given priority over local people who had been on the waiting list for years. These asylum seekers got everything , carpets, furniture, fridge, freezer, tv, mobile phone, free taxi service to anywhere, all this stuff was brand new, they lacked for nothing, I felt like a traitor when I worked there, glad I'm out of it now. We need massive changes in the entire UK, these problems are only going to get worse, look after our own first.

It’s similar here in Ireland. I know people on the housing list 14 years that aren’t housed in the midst of soaring rent hikes here. The cost and availability of renting here is ridiculous. Now we know a huge % of asylum seekers are conning the system so you can imagine the frustration if you’ve worked here all your life to see this. And the cost and availability of health care here that people simply can’t afford while free medical cards are handed out adds to this.

I was living in a storeroom in an abandoned office for 7 years. I was on the housing list for most of that time. No electric, shower, cooking at all. No job most of the time I was there. Above all no house with the council as all the foreigners were getting the houses before me. Eventually, i got the pension and left Ireland. I'm now living abroad. I paid income tax in Ireland all my life as I worked most of the time. Went broke during the recession 2008. Never recovered. I sometimes meet Irish out here. They can't go home either ad they is no where to live in Ireland.

This poor poor lady💚 you can see she's got a good heart. We're leaving our most vulnerable down big time. The never ending cycle of addiction gives our institutions almost a free pass of responsibility. When they've designed a system that treats homeless addicts, gets them well and on the road to recovery, then boot them out to live at one of these hostels that are the epicenter for the drug trade in Dublin. It's just negligence but hey, these services are profitable to some and the revolving door serves their interests. Go raibh maith agat a chara for these contributions you make💚

It is very similar here in Canada. I adopted a child whose birth mother drank heavily during the first 4 months of her pregnancy. This has led my son down the road of addiction and the horrible experiences that go with it. His father, his stepmother and I do our very best to provide him with what he needs. He does, however end up back in the city where his drug and alcohol friends live. He has a lovely 2 bedroom apartment in his fathers home, He says he cant stay there because he gets lonely. I am a senior on pension and live in a city 2 hours away in social low cost housing. It is a single room with a small kitchenette and washroom. I love my son and I hope he can get clean and sober at some point. I hope this sweet lady can get the help she needs to live a better life. You are such a nice person to help her. Please keep putting out these videos. We need to pressure our governments to help these people. Addiction is not a choice, it is a disease. I know because it has touched my family in heartbreaking ways. Thank you.
