My first time watching Sanremo this year and I loved it so much! Covers night was on fire! It's really cool that it is a full festival and I watched it and loved it!

Eurovision contest was inspired by Sanremo Music Festival.

@@musicm1rage623Vocals aren't the only element. Personally I really like the song structure. About the vocals, this song is really hard to sing too, while the notes aren't impossible for a pro singer it requires an excellent breath control to be sung without falling flat.

ma infatti l’eurovision è solo per gente vecchia come te, noi giovani ci stiamo appassionando e giustamente integrando nel contest, la vostra generazione se ne infischiava così tanto al punto da rifiutare di andarci mentre a tutti noi (cantanti e spettatori) sta diventando maggiore orgoglio andare all’ esc e vedrai che nei prossimi anni sanremo lo vedremo sempre di più come una finale nazionale

​@@Pggnginfatti, è assurdo che la RAI ci abbia fatto fare per anni la figura degli snob asociali non partecipando, praticamente eravamo l'unico grande Paese che non partecipava perché aveva paura che l'Eurovision oscurasse Sanremo quando gli ultimi anni hanno dimostrato invece che i due eventi posso benissimo convivere. Ormai l'Eurovision è diventato abbastanza popolare anche in Italia soprattutto da quando l'abbiamo vinto e ospitato e Sanremo continua comunque a macinare record di ascolti. @@Pggng non è assolutamente vero, durante la folle settima di Sanremo quasi tutta l’Italia si riunisce davanti alla tv, o comunque si parla solo di quello. Poi se a te non piace e non lo vedi ok, ma negli ultimi 5 anni Amadeus è riuscito a riavvicinare i giovani al festival. Fidati che il suo successo non è più dato dagli overo 50, ma da come si può notare anche solo dai social, il successo lo porta la fascia 15-35. L’ESC credo che in Italia venga visto solo per supportare il nostro paese: si vede la performance del nostro rappresentante e i voti finali, o almeno penso che per la maggior parte delle persone sia così. Non dico che non si guardino anche le performance degli altri paesi, ma lo si fa molto alla leggera e non con la stessa passione e attenzione con cui ascoltiamo le canzoni di Sanremo. Infatti non credo che mi sia mai capitato (a me personalmente) di risentire una canzone dell’eurovision dopo la sua fine, mentre le canzoni del festival le sentiamo per un anno intero e anche più; e questo lo dico evidenziando il fatto che l’eurovision lo guardo tipo dal 2012. Non dico che non sia una cosa bellissima per un’artista che rappresenta il suo paese andare all’eurovision, ma sta di fatto che vincere Sanremo, ma anche solo viverlo rimane l’emozione più grande a mio parere per un cantante italiano.

Considering, it's been the Italian delegation's method of selection since 2015, it is a preselection for Eurovision. It's just different from your standard national final like Melodifestivalen.

If Eurovision stopped tomorrow, SanRemo wouldn't. It's not a 'national final'. It's the main event for those involved - ESC is simply tacked on by RAI because it makes sense to them to do it.

It's not a traditional national selection the same way the likes of Melodifestivalen and Festival da Canção are (even though they are also legacy song contests themselves with a legacy to uphold similar to Sanremo). The Italian delegation's current method to select their act to represent Italy for Eurovision is through Sanremo. But unlike most other preselections, they have a different way of choosing their performer. Whoever wins Sanremo has an option to accept or refuse RAI's invitation to go to Eurovision. Once they waived their right to refuse, the broadcaster would then tap into the pool of talent they have access to from the latest edition of Sanremo, particularly those who have provisionally made their intentions to go to ESC known beforehand. So I hope I made that clear to you. :)

In materia di Eurovision, Deban è chiaramente ANTI-ITALIANO, e questa è una cosa che traspare in maniera inequivocabile in ogni suo contributo che ci riguardi. Non provate nemmeno a convincermi del contrario, perché è LAMPANTE. È ancora indimenticabile la reazione ai Måneskin: sembrava la Chernobyl dell'Eurovision, non sapendo più che toni usare per mettere in mostra il proprio disprezzo si ridusse a chiamare in causa Gualazzi definendo la sua canzone del 2011 «unlistenable»... a distanza di 10 anni. Ogni anno ha qualcosa di diverso su cui scagliarsi, e sempre a sproposito, sempre del tutto fuori tema e sempre all'insegna dell'intolleranza verso ciò che caratterizza la nostra cultura musicale. Ogni sua parola trasuda fastidio, snobismo, la volontà di guardarci dall'alto in basso. I'm sorry to tell you that including the word "cumbia" doesnt make the song latin american. The vibe is fully southern italian and the dialect, words used and rythm are something you always hear in Italy, "Che t'o dico a fa" from her has the same vibe and got famous af in Italy for being an ITALIAN song. Maybe try not to be salty (something impossible for spanish eurovision fans) and just judge by quality, not by anger :) Also I'm sorry to tell you but Angelina Mango was born in Basilicata and is HUGELY connected to Naples culture, she isn't cuban

Have to disagree there, it is easily the strongest song and performance we have this year. Juries and televoters will place this high up
