Ter aanvulling/informatie: Naast deze Oude Lijn is er ook een Nieuwe Lijn (bijnaam "Binnendoortje") Dat is de lijn van Rijnspoor vanuit Amsterdam via Breukelen, Gouda naar Rotterdam.

I watched you entering the platform at Den Haag HS at 80 km/h (~50 mph), and thought "Management here would have a meltdown if they saw that. 'Too dangerous', they'd say". Believe it or not, there's a serious proposal here in the UK that (if you're stopping at the station), the maximum permitted speed for the whole length of the platform will be 15 mph (~25 km/h). Our railway here is getting slower and slower, but with no extra time allowed, and they wonder why the trains are always late!
At 9:08, the left-hand signal has lost its backboard. Normally this helps a light signal to stand out against a bright sky. Then at 9:39, a pair of signals has been decommissioned in favour of a new pair a short distance further on. The old signals have a P plate, while the new ones have a different plate. There also appears to be a pair of decommission signals facing the opposite way in this area. Perhaps it has to do with the Delft Zuid crossovers.
9:39 is a so called "bijzonder gevaarpunt" (special point of danger, in this case switch tracks and a access point for engineering vehicles). P-plate means automatic signal, controlled by the trains themselves.
@@gwnlars_8306 Right, that would be consistent with the signals being changed to suit the installation of the crossovers. The old signals were set up for plain-line, ie. no crossovers.
The HDR balance looks GREAT in this video! It's weird though, it's not as bright on my Windows PC on the same monitor as on my Mac. It looks fantastic on my Mac though. Still some issues with compression of the overhead wires.
Thanks! There appears to be huge differences between screens. Compression is a RU-vid thing. I upload 180mbps, RU-vid compresses it way to far. I bet this is on purpose, offering higher quality with a payed membership in the future.

Mooie video meester. Ik weet het nog heel goed dat de IRM in dienst ging. In het begin hoorde je doedelzak geluiden, maar reizigers klaagden daar over, maar inmiddels al lang weer verholpen. Wel jammer dat de originele kleurstelling verdwijnt
So, another ride 'on the cushions', eh Vincent? I noticed that most of the VIRM units in this video are sporting the new 'large logo' livery. NS looks to be copying British Rail . . . . about 40 years later!!! Joking aside, the 'large logo' livery looks quite smart.

A 4 minute stop at Rotterdam Centraal. That's some slick work attaching a 4-car unit at the end in that time. If you ride as a passenger are you treated like a passenger and have to pay your way?
@@CabviewHolland 1) According to NS archives, this train started out as a 6-car train. At Rotterdam Centraal a 4-car unit was attached. The scheduled stop was to last 4 minutes. Definitely a very slick operation there. 2). Do you get charged for travelling as a passenger between duties?
Mooie rit! Die VIRM is voor mij als passagier best een fijne trein, maar ik vind wel dat ze zeker boven veel meer schommelen dan prettig is. Ook op recht spoor gaat het heen en weer en heen en weer. Een Koploper ligt voor mijn gevoel veel stabieler op de rails, en die is nog 15 jaar ouder. Aan de andere kant: het design van de VIRM verveelt niet, en aan de verdere kwaliteit merk ik ook niet echt dat het al 30 jaar oud is. De renovatie heeft daarbij natuurlijk geholpen. Hopelijk gaat dat gerenoveerde interieur wel wat langer mee dan die in de Koplopers, want wat is het interieur daarin inmiddels vies en vooral kapot...
