@@woop6078 To me, it seemed as though he 'owned the audience', even more so than some of the other top contenders (Nemo and La Noia come to mind). I was surprised at how so many in the audience seemed to know the lyrics by heart.

Well people are allowed to have their opinions. The croatian song is okay, but the vocals are part of that song and I dont get that people are critizing him because a lot of people have Croatia as their favorite by the way. I dont get the frustration 😂 Joost is just doing what he needs to be doing. What people mean by he is not really a singer is that he doesnt really sing in this song. Its more a sort of sing/talking with acting, instead of just singing with high notes of things like that.

It's not Joost style to sing standard melodies, he rather and better expresses himself through sort of talking, which is not usual rapping, at least not in this entry. I am not familiar with his other songs, but I am sure he can rap, and is very productive musician/singer/composer. Tnis guy Marko sings some kind of metal-voice, and there are at least 7 kinds of metal voice, he probably uses the "easiest" one, since he is not trained singer. Joost has the history of concerts performed in front of even tens of thousands of people, yet this is the first Marko's concert in front of such a huge number of people, so it's very burdening to handle it all well, and he is doing his best. Joost is experrienced guy, and that is a huuuge difference. Marko's song simply can not be performed in any other kind of voice/vocal, it would sound lame. It needs this hoarseness and crackling in the voice. Yet, he jumps like crazy, and that needs strength, it takes a breath away and is very hard to sing. So, all in all, everybody has his own way and thing, how to do it the best way they can. Marko can also rap. You can check it out in his song "IG Boy" on RU-vid. It will soon ne presented by the Eurovision release called "a little bit more" about each artist. So, enjoy yourself, best regards 👋😎
