Europapa is the smartest and most interesting entry to the ESC ever. This song, the music video and the story behind it has so many layers. From the different (euro) music styles to the ton of hidden and not-so-hidden references. Joost Klein gives us a whole experience unmatched by any other act. And I'm here for it. At first, I was skeptical but I am so proud that he can make his dream come true and that he represents the Netherlands this year. It makes me proud to be from the Netherlands and also for the first time proud to be European. Joost Klein, his name means small but he dreams big. 12 points to the Netherlands.
A happy hardcore song would be awesome! Especially since Twan said the song sounds like a mix of party and nostalgia. Can't wait for Eurovision to hear our 'Gabber' culture!
I hope people take Joost and his music seriously. Even though the song Florida 2009 is in Dutch, you can feel that this is a very personal and emotional song. And this is also Joost! He can for sure create a party but do not forget he takes his music and career very seriously. I hope he will rock Eurovision 2024!
His personality, vibe, and just charisma (rizz 🤢) will make people love him for sure. He won’t go unnoticed, that’s a fact for sure. All of Europe are going to know his name, it’s Joost Klein.
Even if he ends last, I will be happy we sent him. It’s so out of the box that I applaud the effort. Not my type of music, but for Eurovision anything goes. And he is actually quite a serious guy with a troubled past, who has been successfully ‘manifesting’ his Eurovision participation for years, especially last year. I will try to manifest the win for him because I think he deserves it (without even knowing his song). Go Joost, you’re a great guy and you will slay! Much love from a 55 year old halve Frisian, yet Groninger woman!
I love (eenhoorn)joost!! I met him in a store in Amsterdam, he was all alone, looking at camera's so I approached to him and started chatting few minutes and he used my phone to make a selfie :-D His old videos on the channel is hilarious. Europe get ready for an insane act!!
Small adjustment: phonetically it would be closer to Yoast, because the J would make it sound like Djoost, whereas the y from yes fits perfectly. Klein in English often sounds like Klain, and in some Dutch accents it sounds like Klain too, but it is pronounced like the ei in the French soleil or city of Marseille.
im so pround being able to be a dutch citezen able to watch joost growth i love this country hahah tnks netherlands ( im portuguese born for people wondering)
sometimes, following a certain formula that succeeded in a certain year doesn't guarantee success in the following year(s). He has to be aware of that. there are some examples already proving that, most notably (in my perspective) Cyprus 2019, with a roughly-similar formula to what they used in 2018; they came second in 2018, but were outside of the top ten in 2019.
How do you know? You haven't even heard the song and tell us his song is like Käärijä's. Keep in mind that Joost made this music long before Käärijä brought this up
@@robbert89rl If the Music Sound like eachother… Also i have heard Joosts other songs and Thats Why i compared + of his funny outfit. What i meant is that Joost Can turn out to be an icon like Käärijä.
@@Maria_muziekjes I don't remember speaking for the Dutch people and the Netherlands as a whole, I have a question for him, because if we are talking about respect, where was his respect when a song with words about love for russia was released in March 2022
Quick google search and I found Russian Village Boys. They seems to be based in the Netherlands, dutch management too. I don't think all Russian artists, bands and groups are agreeing with the current Russia government. So not sure what the issue is.
@@rimboeglitch590 it's EUROvision, so him being successful in other countries should tell you that he's not an industry plant but a successful artist that has earned his place 👀
I'm sorry but it's only my honest opinion here but I think this choice will backfire badly in May. There's no doubt he's a funny and genuine guy, but his music is far too divisive. I'm all for quirky and different, but from watching several of his videos, I just can't get into his music. I can't see his music appealing to the majority of televoters. With Finland this year, the song had it's critics but there was a coherent song behind the quirky fun and games. Joost will have to bring something really special to the table, because up to now, I'm just not getting the connection with his music.
His official eurovision introduction vidéo (on insta) has 4.7 million views now. I think there are enough people who do feel the connexion. (But we shall see) ❤️
As a Dutch person I’m very unhappy to have him represent us. After last year’s debacle they should have picked someone people could get behind, not someone this controversial.
As a Dutch person I'm very happy the choice is made for an artiest that is controversial and not so middle of the road that everybody can get behind it, but nobody abroad will vote for.
He's just so underrated. His songs, lyrics, video ideas are so clever actually. His submission for the ESC is one of the best I've seen. At first glance it might seem silly but it's actually art and so, so clever and original. Nothing but love for him. Joost Klein, droom groot 🙌🏻
I'm really glad we're finally not sending a ballad. From what I've heard of Joost's music it's not really my style but I like his artistic vision in this interview and party + nostalgia sounds very good. So I'm very curious about the song! I'm sure it's gonna be a party and with his energy he can have a big appeal.
