Highly recommend this in any country you go. Just pick a direction in a city, village, countryside... and walk. All day. Follow Google Maps for guidance and just see what ends up happening. Interact with the local people. Wave and say hi to the kids. Pet the nice dogs. And soak it in. It's one of my favorite things to do and I've done it all over the world. Maybe pick a buddy or few to go with you. It's called psychogeography.
I see one too many travelers and foreigners in all countries I go (most actually) that would never do this, if they are able. For whatever reason. Out of fear of the unknown or safety. Because they rent a motorbike or car and choose to zip and speed around flying past everything. Or they join a tour bus group, or have a guide... where they have no control over where they go or what they see. GET OUT THERE! Slow down, walk on our original mode of transportation, our feet, and see what you see. You see the animals, the trees, the locals living life.
Nothing super incredible or interesting happened in this vlog walk but it was the journey, the experience, the moments and I caught it all on camera. Nepali people are some of the nicest I ever came across. Getting blessed by a holy man, seeing wedding season celebrations, seeing hang gliders land, drinking local liquor, laughing with funny kids, crossing bridges... 4 villages along the lake , river beds, and mountains. Good Looooong walk and I'm going into the forest for another one today.
