This is mainly for the wife so she can see where I'm "slumming it" for five weeks 🫣
I've been here two weeks now, three to go.
I've stayed in a lot of varied places in my 25 year career with my company and this has to be one of the best. All the staff are really friendly and helpful and the grounds are beautiful. And, for the first time in a few years, I actually have colleagues with me so it's not depressingly lonely (travel by yourself, stay in the hotel by yourself, work by yourself, eat every meal by yourself for weeks on end ...)
The pool is currently under renovation but you can swim in the lagoon as well.
I only have two, very minor complaints: the hot water doesn't seem to be very hot, but this seems to be a Tahiti thing (or maybe I'm doing it wrong?) and the knives in the kitchenette need sharpening. Yep, that's it.
The breakfast is quite pricey (not a complaint) at ₣4000 (CFP Francs) ... I've not had it and likely won't. I can claim the cost back from my company but it seems like a waste, especially if I were to have it every day for five weeks. A piece of fruit or some toast in my kitchenette is sufficient. In comparison I've had one dinner at the Taapuna restaurant: steak & chips with two beers (local 330mL draught) which cost ₣5400. Normally we eat dinner at one of the roulottes (food van) across the street (about ₣1200-1500).
₣1000 = AU$13.50 = US$9 = £7.40 = €8.38 (pegged) = ₽683
